Bandit Bowls. Winter series. 2023-2024.
So. We've reached and finished the 2nd finals weekend of this season's winter series.

All results can be found on the Bandit Bowls tab via MB Results page

Last Sunday (17th) we had the consolation finals day with 54 entries playing for £2470 prize pot (£1660 plus hoodies). This was played down to the q/f’s who then gained entry into the main finals day yesterday with the top 40.

We also had the ‘top 16’ 2 man team event with £1200 in the pot

This Saturday (23rd) saw 26 of the 32 eligible ‘one dayer’ attendees battling for the £250 top prize (£1675 prize fund) at Tilstock BC.

Then yesterday (Sun 24th) the winter series main finals were held at District BC. Where 48 bowlers battled for a part of the £5100 prize fund. Another fantastic day again with some lovely warm weather.

Everyone who turned up took home a minimum of £50 plus a very nice, warm 'Bandit Bowls' hoodie (lookout for these through the summer).

I'd like to thank every host club (nett profits of £150-£200 on Saturdays & £450-£500 on Sundays) who have allowed the use of their facilities. Any & every bowler who's supported the winter series through 2023-2024.
Both of these have helped get 'Bandit Bowls' off to a brilliant start.
But special thanks must go to my season long helpers. Mike Beckett (computer magician), Roger Candlin (Mr calm & efficient entrants organiser), Meghan Brookes (who has been a consistent, quiet voice keeping the days ticking over very efficiently). Then alongside these Andy Armstrong, Mike Cooper, Ade Jennings & David Cunningham for there continued help in whatever form I've needed. Without a great team of helpers we wouldn't be anywhere as smooth running as we are.

As the Bandit Bowls winter series happily goes into hibernation in readiness for October here’s to a good summer season of bowls across the country.

08:30 for a 09:00 start. Round robin. 13up. Handicapped. £12 per person entry fee (£7 x daily payout. £1 x host club. £1 x Bandit Bowls. £3 x prize fund).
So far: average of 18 per week. Host clubs £150-£175 nett profit

Sessions. Sun 17th December. R10. Tilstock. SY13 3JL. Please park up at the village hall.
Weekly average of 100.

Remember this week is……..fancy dress.
So this week it’s £10 entrance fee. Extra £3 to go to ‘Save the Children’.

Please remember due to the fantastic entrance numbers we do need to have entrants there at least 30 minutes before the start time so that we are as efficient as possible. We need games running at the specified start time.

The sessions (at present) are
09:00-12:30 (maximum of 36)
12:30-16:00 (maximum of 36)
16:00-??? (no limit…..at the moment).

All the rest is the normal. 13up. Round robin. Handicapped. £7 per person entry fee (£1 x host club. £1 x Bandit Bowls. £5 x prize fund).

Please advise the order of sessions you'd like to be in as I can't guarantee a space in your preferred one.

Host clubs this season are on an average nett profit on Sundays presently of £500+ (£400+ on food & drink…….and then the £1 per player @ average x £100). Please contact me if your club is interested in hosting.

All bowlers are welcome so please feel free to come along and join in but I, alone, will make decisions on who or how many I accept.

Please remember that the bowling community, is filled with people from all ages so please look after all your family, friends & neighbours (especially those that are classed in the 'vulnerable' sector).
