Embark on the Clevedon Garden Trail on Sunday, June 23rd, from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and explore 12 unique gardens nestled in the heart of Clevedon. Wander through a variety of front and back gardens, each showcasing distinct styles and planting schemes to inspire your own green spaces.

Refreshments and plants will be available for purchase, making this event the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing Sunday outdoors.

Tickets are just £5 and can be purchased in advance or on the day. While you enjoy the beauty of Clevedon's gardens, please note that most are not wheelchair accessible and only assistance dogs are permitted.

Hello all my lovely followers and sorry I haven't been in touch ror a while but I would really value your opinion on something.

I am personally a third generation (as far as I know, could be more but lost parents early in life) Clevedonian and have added two more generations to our lovely town, so I'm proud to be a part of it. My father was a trader in Clevedon for many years and as a trader twice over myself in the past twenty years or so (sold the first one now trading again) I would just like to make a couple of points about the raging for and against the Clevedon BID vote, which we have to make as traders before 19th July.

When the Clevedon BID started five years ago I voted yes, what a great concept! All of the Clevedon traders have to pay a levy based on the rateable value of their shop. Mine is £130 per annum so with 18 traders in Old Street that's quite a lot of dosh over 5 years.

Initially I was very keen to promote Street enhancement. How many towns do you drive through that are filled with flowers and you think, this is lovely, must come back here sometime and spend some time having a look around. I tried to explain to George who runs the BID how important I felt it was to not just do it but to do it with massive impact, that's what I personally felt would improve our town. Not just in the village but on the Beach, Hill Road, Alexander Road and so on. All the same colours, it would unite the whole town. I felt that would be a great start.

The BID raises £90K per annum so £450K in the last five years. In good old Old Street after five years we finally got a few hanging baskets, a couple of pots and a mural on the side of A Better Weigh just before it was time to vote again, oh and some bunting, sparsly distributed around Kenn Road, Old Street and part of Old Church Road but nowhere near all of it, where's the impact? If you're gonna do it do it properly for goodness sake! Oh and some pots, the biggest one of which I've just been asked to water as the people who were supposed to do it have bowed out. Oh well.....it's only my water bill, having paid £130 to the BID per annum for the last five years.

So work it out, I'd love to know what you guys think, should I vote yes or no?
