How it grew βΊοΈ
Wow what a weekend. Thank you all so much. We had a crazy amount of donations. Probably 3 times more than last year. Thank you also to all of you who came today to help find new homes for all of the donations. You are all part of what makes our wonderful community toy shop work.A massive shout out to the incredible Lou Ritchie aka made in Clevedon, very lucky to have you as a friend and an absolute rock of a partner in our free toy shop mission. We had an incredible amount of support from our amazing crew of volunteers, Liz aka corca handmade , Victoria part of Clevedon clothes exchange, Ruby, Katie, Lyndsey, Frankie and Jack you all worked so so hard and made it fun. Thank you to my lovely family Molly and Carl who helped and also are so understanding of my crazy head during free toy shop time.
We still have lots of toys please pop by at John's hall, hillside road Clevedon. All free to take π
The first year of the free toy shop people asked to make donations to a charity. We said no this is all about being free. But you are a wonderful determined bunch, so we did. This year there will be a donation pot again. Monies raised will be going to the Free Gazza Circus Centre. Who are truly incredible. See you tomorrow π
Oh my goodness. Thank you all so much. We have had so many brilliant donations today for tomorrow's free toy shop. And a massive thank you to everyone who volunteered today. There's no way Lou and I could have managed without you. Please pop by tomorrow to pick up free toys. Please enter via the Hillside rd entrance .
10am-2pm St John's hall, hillside rd. See you tomorrow π
This weekend!!!. This Saturday 10am to 2pm drop your pre-loved toys off to St Johns Hall on Hillside rd just up the hill from the library. Then pop back on Sunday same time same place for the free toy shop.
Lovely autumn selection today π
We are closing at 3pm today. Hope that doesn't inconvenience anyone π
Have a great weekend
This is such a brilliant idea. If you are looking to make your home greener the wonderful folk at Sustainable Clevedon - a Transition Town have organised a trail in Clevedon where you can visit peoples homes and see how they've done it. I'll definitely be having a look.
It is timeπ
It's back. Lou and I will be running our free toy shop this November, with the help of our wonderful community.
All toys will be free.
So drop your unwanted toys off on Saturday.
16th November between 10am and 2pm to St Johns Hall, BS21 7XJ
(Toys need to be in good clean, working order. No dvds please)
And please come back on Sunday 17th November, same time, same place to choose your free toys.π
Back to loading up in the dark, and in the rain this morning I felt a little, just a little glum.
Then Geraldine came to work. And I remember how lucky we are. I work with my lovely husband and Geraldine is absolutely brilliant.
You, our customers are fantastic you support us, which in turn means we can do things to support our community and local growers and lots of you have become good friends. We get to have tasty fruit and veg at home and I've never had to have a meeting about a meeting. Just when I was thinking this through Geraldine sent me a photo of a bean with a face as if to prove my point π thank you Geraldine and thank you all for your support even on rainy days.
I've had some lovely chats with customers who saw Zaid Hilal in Bristol and said his music was amazing. There are some tickets left. We'll see you there π
Palestinian musician and composer Zaid Hilal is LIVE at the Curzon, plus a screening of 'The Wanted 18', a poignant film about nation-building from the bottom-up, by the people not the politicians.
Sun 6 Oct 6.30pm
Autumnal cosy veg pics today. And I can't not show you the grumpy potato that was part of our dinner last night π
