A U T U M N – are you ready for it?

I’m still clinging to those summer holiday vibes, but today hit me hard as my youngest started big school. BANG. September always feels like a new beginning—a fresh start with new energy.

I’m not sure I’m ready for the nights drawing in and trading sandals for boots, but I am ready for all the gorgeous autumn colours! Autumn might just be my favourite season for its rich, cosy palette.

Last week, I had the pleasure of seeing ’s new collection. Their ethos, We Are Nature, really resonates with me, and it’s reflected beautifully in their stunning designs. I had the best time exploring their range with one of their representatives—it was truly inspiring!

A R T - I haven’t posted in a while. I just wanted to share all the beautiful art I loved today at the Wivenhoe art trail. Wivenhoe is a beautiful town voted one of the most desirable places to live in East Anglia.

It really is a wonderful way to spend the morning. Art, food and a local market. Not forgetting the beautiful architecture and views across the river.

Art is affordable you just need to look on your doorstep and shop local. Support your local businesses.

I love a little side table or two in a sitting room, especially as they are so very versatile. When you have guests the table can be moved closer to them to sit their tea, or simply it can be a surface to place a lamp or a plant.

I’m loving the shadow in this picture. I can see a reindeer. Can you see it too?

Well, it truly does feels like Winter today! The temperature has been below freezing and it even snowed here this morning in north Essex. There was much excitement in the house, with squeals of delight and mouths full of advent chocolate. Sadly, the Elves haven’t quite found their way, but I expect they will turn up soon.
 
I can’t believe it’s only 3 and a bit more weeks till Christmas. Have you started your festive shopping yet?

A U T U M N - has finally arrived and the weather has started to turn here in North Essex.

As you may know, I had the most amazing trip to Marrakesh, then on the way home I caught the dreaded Covid, which laid me out and forced me to rest and get cosy. It seems to have claimed the rest of the family but I’m told it’s now everywhere. I guess its something we all just need to learn to live with.

Good news, we have a birthday in the house this week, so fingers crossed all our planned celebrations can still go ahead. If not, we will celebrate at home- balloons and cake at the ready

EN SUITE BATHROOM

Step into this space that I recently designed for a client. It transcends trends and stands the test of time.

This small ensuite is a homage to classic beauty whilst still considering functionality. Who says a small space cannot be beautiful?

Marble tiles and the brass fixtures is-inspired by a bygone era, adding a touch of luxury and elegance. These classics never go out of style!

Soft, neutral tones create a serene backdrop that complements any decor style and allows for easy updates. ie  a change of wall colour, using accessories to add personality.

Houseplants bring a touch of nature, bringing the outside in whilst adding life and vibrancy to this serene oasis.

Well-placed lighting enhances the space's functionality and creates an inviting ambiance. It's all about balance and warmth.

The double ended bathtub and floating sink offer both comfort (room for two 💕) and a nod to modern yet timeless design.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS-

Who is loving this glorious weather? ME!!

I’m not one to sit in the blazing sun for hours on end.I much prefer sitting in the shade with a good book and a cocktail.

I thought I’d share a few pictures of a little antique vase I picked up on top of a pretty hill, in an ancient church on holiday.

Isn’t it just beautiful! I love the curved shapes and the crackled gold glaze finish.

I may use it for olive oil. I’m a huge believer in USING the THINGS you LOVE. So every time you pick it up that special memory of how you found it will make you smile and warm your heart.

What do you think? A steal for 10 Euro?

Where do you get your design inspiration?
 
This  M o o d b o a r d  was inspired by my visit to WOW House at the beginning of the summer.  I adored the earthy greens, mixture of patterns, textures and modern art, whist still enduring a restful feeling.
 
I have mixed high end with high street items. It’s my favourite thing to do. I love sourcing perfect pieces for projects at the right price point to help the budget stretch further.

HAPPY CLIENT

My clients contacted me as they needed help with a tricky space which they are currently using as a garden room, a place to dine and a space to relax.

The room is beautiful but has a small footprint, but with 2 and half walls of pure glass looking onto a beautiful garden with stunning views it feels a lot bigger. The family also use this space as the main entrance into the house, so I needed to carefully consider storage for coats, shoes, and clutter. With two teenagers and two dogs, the room was really working hard to be all things.

Within this design package, I created a colour palette bringing the outside in for a smooth calming transition between spaces. I was mindful to incorporate the clients different style preferences and used bright warm colours to bring in the Moroccan element. I provided floor layout plans, scaled drawings for storage options, sample boards and a shopping list with links for easy shopping.

I can’t wait to see the finished result…..

STYLING - I mostly like to support local artisans by using them in my designs. I think using local artists work means you are choosing something for your home that is unique to your personal taste. It will also add character and make your home stand out from the norm. Who wants a home like everyone else’s ? Especially when you have invested a lot of time, money and thought into it.
