Tunes for Tots returns weekly next Wednesday with classes for parents with their babies and toddlers between 0-3 years old. All of their classes aim to nurture the bond between your child and their accompanying parent, carer, aunty or grandpa…whoever it is that enjoys making music with them!

Led by professional musicians, each class is developed week-by-week via our teaching subjects, specifically curated for each age group. Our teaching subjects include songs with lyrics, scarves, shakers and percussion to name a few. Each age group also enjoys story-time to enhance the musical experience through sound, imagery, structure and imagination. Overall, growing your child’s interest in music and how it makes them feel is the aim of every class.

Ending this Good Friday with this lovely little blog. We are delighted to be the new home for the 5 large-scale prints from the "Little Manhattan" exhibition that finished in February at the Museum of Croydon.

Such a pleasure to meet Art in transit who with the Croydon community last summer created these in workshops as part of the Digital Dramas Heritage Lottery-funded project - focusing on the boom in modern architecture post-war in Croydon until the 1970's. The buildings featured include Apollo and Lunar house, St Georges Tower, Corinthian House and Norfolk House.

Our new opening hours can make visiting tricky if you work the 9-5 and for the little people at school, so we'll be open with our family this Good Friday 10am-3pm.

Rain is scheduled but don't let that NOT bring you down! Our playroom features soft play, books and toys and it will be free entry. It's suitable for ages 6 and under (supervised). Leoni will also have some colouring pencils and drawing activities dotted around.

So, we have decided to launch two memberships designed to be affordable for local entrepreneurs in our workspace having surveyed what is available in town. We have stripped it back so you are paying for what you actually want, a virtual presence, not a physical one.

Your company letters need a place where it can be signed for and know it will find its way to you, unmanned PO boxes no longer cut it. Our Virtual Office membership is cheaper than these too and work well on their own or as an add-on if you are already a member of the MY community.

Of course, we are coming with the most affordable pricing in town with our LITE VO membership at less than £27 per month.

We are home, not far from where we started. Come and find us.

The coffee shop is open to all and will break for Christmas, and our workspace for members will remain open as normal 7 days a week through the holidays.

So what's been happening?

This morning we officially opened a new coworking room and have the cheapest coworking offer in Croydon in our ground-floor quirky space with tonnes of member benefits in the heart of Croydon. We have day passes if you have commitment issues for the workspace and also the soft play area based just off the cafe area.

Our workspace membership rate will go up from the 1st of January though, so sign up this month to lock in our current rate if this piques your interest.

Events and private hire have been going strong and if you would like to hire our space do get in touch. Summer was filled with any and everything from under-5 parties, AGMs, , , holiday clubs, and corporate stuff, to parent and baby meet-ups, and music classes for little ones in 'The Playroom' like tunesfortotsuk. has gone on, and we had our first members social in October.

It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of Roxanne (Al-Uzaizi) Bonar who passed away on Thursday 30th November, following a brief struggle with lung cancer.

Roxanne's unwavering support for Matthews Yard in its darkest hour was vital in ensuring MY continued to this day.

We will do all we can to ensure the legacy of MY endures, in your memory.

Matthews Yard is Changing: We are calling time on late nights at the Yard. This will be the last week we are open for late night drinks. It will be the last Big Smoke Comedy at MY on Friday. It's also the last week to get yourself a delicious Pizza from Penny’s Pizza at MY.

We are refocusing our attention on day time, with earlier opening (from 8am) and earlier closing. We are returning to our roots. We need time to focus on what works for us and we need to focus on the times that our location is busy.
