It’s always a pleasure working with loose polished stones to select a suitable pair of diamonds to fit both the design and the budget of our clients. These two stones at 0.27ct each will make the perfect pair of stud earrings when they’re set! Keep on sparkling this Christmas! 💎
We're in the early stages of a new jewellery collection and we can't wait for the launch later this year. As we connect with many of our clients using various social media platforms, we've extended our reach to connect with our industry contacts over on LinkedIn. Things to consider when buying a diamond.
You may have heard of the 4Cs in the jewellery trade when it comes to diamonds. When comparing prices from outlet to outlet, prices can vary widely for similar looking diamond rings. The 4Cs however hold the key to what may be behind these variations in price.
The 4Cs first established by the GIA stand for CUT - CLARITY - COLOUR - CARAT WEIGHT as follows
CUT - the quality of the cut is what really produces the brilliance and sparkle of a diamond
CLARITY - Natural diamonds contain small inclusions and blemishes. The fewer there are, the more desirable and valuable the stone. These are graded FL/Flawless down a scale to I3/Included3
COLOUR - Natural diamonds vary in colour. The closer they are to being colourless, the higher their value (with the exception of fancy colours)
CARAT - The weight used for diamonds and gemstones. 1.0 carats = 0.20gr.
For more information visit the original creators of the 4Cs here. http://www.gia.edu/gia-about
Jewellery containing diamonds can be offered with stones supplied with a certificate issued by the GIA supporting the true facts as measured by the GIA in their laboratory for that stone. This isn't essential but worth a discussion with us.
