New Opening Hours for Timed Sessions!

Until now you needed a group of 8 or more drivers to book an exclusive race event for an evenings Karting at SCK.

Whilst you can still reserve an evening for an exclusive Mini, Grand or Super Prix we are also opening later for our popular timed sessions.

From 8th October our last arrival for timed sessions will be 7pm to race at 8pm from Tuesday - Friday. Leaving you enough time to finish work and head over for a session or two without needing to organising a group.

Book as a single driver or smaller group in our timed sessions.

Sessions are pre-bookable on-line at https://www.southcoastkarting.co.uk/timed-sessions and of course are offered on a first come first serviced.

Hayden joined South Coast Karting in January through a placement program from his school when he was 15 years old. One of our directors, Jim, was honoured when asked to take him to his prom on his bike last night.

Hayden's work ethic and performance during his placement was so impressive that we offered him an apprenticeship at SCK. He is with us over the summer before officially beginning his apprenticeship in September.

It's rare these days for a 16-year-old to transition directly from school to work, and we are thrilled to have Hayden as part of our team.

We were also delighted to make his prom memorable as he finished his school.

On to the next chapter for Hayden and SCK.

After six years of dedication and hard work, we bid farewell to our team member, Jenson Watts. Jenson has been a cornerstone of our team throughout his time at school, sixth form, and university. His commitment, passion, and positive attitude have been invaluable, and he will be greatly missed.

Although Jenson has completed his final track team shift, we are fortunate to have him with us for a little while longer. He will continue to provide tuition until the end of July, with his last two available sessions at 6pm on the 15th of July and 6pm on the 29th of July. At South Coast karting we require track team marshals to assist customers at our kart racing circuit. A busy outdoor rental Kart venue that caters for wide range of customers. Our customers include Stag & Hen events, corporate Company Karting races, Championship experiences and timed sessions.

Our track team is the professional face of the business, you will be required to assist to run events at our busy kart track in Bournemouth whilst also being ambassadors for our company.

Duties include:-

Preparing the track and karts ready for each event (mechanical skills not required)

Supervising the circuit during racing

Assisting drivers during their racing session

Supervising the pit lane, controlling customer traffic

Monitoring the track and hospitality areas

Kitting up drivers with helmets and race suits

Briefing groups of track rules and regulations

A quality track team is required for all race events at South Coast Karting, to provide cover for events from 8am-10.00pm 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday. This will be on a shift system depending on level of business.

No previous karting experience is necessary: however, knowledge of karting race events and race formats is desirable. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be able to work in the UK. All applicants must be available the majority of weekends and school holidays, this is not just a term time only position.

Hours: include weekends, evenings & school holidays.

Salary: £6.40-£11.44 per hour

KARTNET RACE REPORT ROUND ONE:

The dust has settled on the opening round of KartNet 2024, and what a thrilling start it was! The KartNet business league witnessed a fiercely competitive field of teams, each representing a diverse range of local businesses.

Qualifying:

In the intense 20-minute qualifying session, it was the new entrants, Rescue Rod, who made an immediate impact by clinching the pole position. They were closely followed by another newcomer, Draken, showcasing their potential right from the start. The defending champions, A1, managed to secure the third spot on the grid, with Home Rewire Factory Racing completing the second row.

Row three saw Tyre Marx & Bailey Building taking the fifth and sixth position, while LSB Electrical and Saint Barts 1 settled for the seventh and eighth spots respectively. Saint Barts 2 & lable.it occupied the ninth and tenth positions, with TLB 2 & TLB Projects completing the grid order.

Race:

As the 90-minute endurance race unfolded, the battle for supremacy intensified. LSB Electrical demonstrated impressive pace, not only securing the victory but also setting the fastest lap of the race. Tyre Marx showed consistency and determination, climbing up to second place by the end of the race.

Draken, after starting strong from the front row, had to settle for the final step of the podium in third place. The defending champions, A1, faced a tough challenge and finished in fourth place. They will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back and re-establish themselves as podium contenders in the upcoming rounds.

Pole-sitters, Rescue Rod, faced a challenging race but managed to salvage a fifth-place finish. Meanwhile, lable.it showcased improved race pace and rounded out the top six.

7 years ago today we had our first karts on track. From field to operational in just three months. Not something we’d like to do again….

2024 Championships is under way. Last night we saw the adult lights and heavies race in round one of the 2024 campaign. Congratulations to all the podium finishers 🏆

This weekend we head into round one of the Juniors before the cadets kick off a week later. With all grids currently full we’re looking forward to some fantastic racing across all classes.

Reserve lists are now open for anyone who didn’t manage to secure a slot on the grid.
