Serious Adverse Circumstances (SACs) is the acknowledgment of extenuating circumstances that have occurred out of your control and its level of impact to academic study, is there to assist the Board of Examiners when making a decision on your final award. It can also assist with re-sit opportunities should you fail any module assessment. Detailed information is available on the Serious Adverse Circumstances webpage. Further information regarding the process can also be found in the Learning and Teaching Handbook. In order to have SACs considered you are required to submit an online SAC form (available in Banner Self-Service) and provide the relevant supporting evidence.
It's important to consider when completing a SAC form you need to be detailed and specific, and focus on how those issues has affected your ability to study and the level of impact that this has had. If you can provide evidence, medical or otherwise, then please attach it to the SAC form as it will help the department in reviewing it.
If you would like the college to look over your SAC form you can click the βshare with collegeβ button before you submit it and a member of the support team will be able to read and review the form for you.
If you would like more detailed guidance on SAC forms, please contact Gini or Dom at [email protected]
