Hi Durham County Council, Wayne the Landlord here!

Today, was the first Sunday where you charged our loyal customers, who most, are really really really feeling the pinch of the current recession and living crisis to park their cars!

Furthermore, as our customers pay their bar tab I always ask what's your plans for the rest of today, and 99% of them, always say they're gonna walk their dinners off and walk around Durham, maybe a wee shop here and there....!

NOT TODAY, AS 99% of our customers said, WE'RE GOING HOME BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR PARKING (Or can't really afford the extra cost, 'It literally puts an extra unaffordable cost on to our day, some have said......!!)

Durham County Council please please please could you reconsider these parking charges on a Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday's, otherwise you're going to reduce footfall in Durham City centre massively, and with these on going rail strikes that have already cost hospitality 5 billion since June 2022, (source hospitality UK governing body) NOW is the time to support businesses in and around the City, rather than SUFFOCATING THEM!!!!!!!!
