Warped Productions Ltd are delighted to announce the appointment of our third director; The multi-talented actor, writer and director Vanashree Thapliyal.

Vanashree, Annie L Cook and Wendy Lap are currently busy producing The Richard Osman Fan Club - Play for this year's and carrying out rehearsals and preparations for Solar Urticaria Film

Solar Urticaria film series We want to fund & produce the pilot chapter of our mini-film-series that highlights chronic illness & human connections through dark comedy.

Some of our production team -casting director & AD Vanashree, co-producers Klara & Loki and director Annie- getting ready for the day in deadpan dark comedy mode. Looking a bit too serious...they are sometimes happier in real-life we promise. This was a first line-run and blocking rehearsal to mark any physical blocking to develop shot lists, to check the script 'works' in practice in order to make any changes and to do a bit of character development. Each actor/character has their own personal playlist to listen to to get into character...also just for fun!

Solar Urticaria is a dark comedy mini-film-series that starts with 'Chapter 1: Patman's Obsession' an unusual alliance and attempted crime - but it’s really not what you think. Patman is the parkourist postman with a hero complex and is determined to help long-suffering local resident Grace with her undiagnosed chronic illness... stay tuned to find out more ✉️📦

We are delighted to have multi-talented filmmaker Esther Elbornova join the Solar Urticaria team as project assistant & runner.

🎞 About Esther 🎞
I’m excited to work alongside this amazing crew and bring to life a story worth telling!! I have studied film and screen production at the London Film Academy, Fife College and at Edinburgh Napier University. Since the beginning of this year, I have worked on three graduate films as the production assistant as well as a few other projects. I’m interested in pursuing production assistance with the ultimate goal of expanding my expertise to directing/first assistant directing.

🎞 About Annie 🎞
I’m excited to create and share a story with you. Solar Urticaria was inspired from my own lived experiences of chronic illness and having a dark sense of humour to help me get through it. I’m mostly looking forward to working with some very talented people and bringing these skills together to create something hopefully thought-provoking and darkly funny. I’ve worn a few ‘hats’- director, filmmaker, writer, editor, theatre-maker, actor, producer but enjoy storytelling as a whole. I get a buzz from bringing people together, problem solving and working in high-pressure situations (weird right). I’m also very passionate about equality- have a day job working for a non-profit to improve democracy and inclusion for people to use their voice and influence policy and decision-making.

Any production nerves or niggles? 🤫
Yes- what fresh hell is this? Will we have enough budget for a quality product, will it work, how to get over challenges, will it be worth it, many niggles but I love the team and it’s worth it.
