, the prestigious whisky brand, has recently unveiled its latest masterpiece the Folio 7, which is part of the Archival Series. This edition pays homage to one of the brand's iconic advertising campaigns from 1984, entitled 'The Boffins Baffled'. The campaign featured a group of scientists who visited The Macallan distillery and were left speechless after tasting the single malt whisky for the first time. Folio 7 is a testament to the brand's innovative spirit and celebrates the artwork that reflects the brand's iconic status.

The Archival Series was launched in 2015 to commemorate the brand's print, press, and film advertising campaigns from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The series showcases how the brand evolved from a small farmstead on the River Spey to the global brand it is today.

The Macallan Folio 7 comes with an abv of 43%, priced at £350, and a booklet that commemorates the brand's vintage advertising, presented in a book-shaped tin. The Folio 7 will be available for sale this month through The Macallan Online Boutique, The Macallan Estate Boutique, and selected global travel retail, with a ballot opening for the purchase.

As someone who was fortunate enough to be selected for a pre-launch purchase of the bottle, I can say that the Folio 7 is an excellent addition to any whisky enthusiast's collection.

Beautiful 😍

An unplanned walk around the picturesque Cambus Diageo distillery today and admiring the breathtaking views of the Ochil hills, To get a better picture I was tempted to run in past the security barrier however I decided against it as I’m sure security would have been on the scene pretty quick, will have to add a tour of Cambus to the list.

I herd at Johnnie Walker Princess Street, Johnnie Walker himself was once a humble grocer in Scotland, his journey and his legacy is just a small reminder what can be achieved with a vision.

It just goes to show how passionate Johnnie was about his craft and how deeply rooted his love for whisky was. The legacy one man has left behind and this passion is still evident today in the exceptional blends that bear his name.

I had the pleasure of taking a tour of the Johnnie Walker Princes Street location in Edinburgh, where I learned more about the history and artistry behind this iconic brand. And let me tell you, it was an experience I'll never forget. From the aroma of the whisky casks to the stunning display of bottles, the tour was truly a feast for the senses.

A stunning private cask filled 24 years ago and bottled by Uncharted Whisky for the Davies family. As with many private casks, there were a few bottles more than the family needed… here’s your chance to grab one of only 50 bottles allocated to the Uncharted Whisky Syndicate and community.

This beautiful, un-peated spirit was distilled in 1997 and filled into one ex- bourbon barrel where it spent it’s entire maturation. The resulting single malt is complex and elegantly balanced with complex notes of honey, oak, vanilla and tropical dried fruits.

Loch Lomond Distillery has historically produced many different styles of single malt. From grain whiskies to un-peated single malt, lightly peated single malt and heavily peated single malt. It’s something of a W***y Wonka’s whisky factory. The different spirits have historically been named after the islands of Loch Lomond. This one is called Inchmurrin and is one the lightest, most fragrant spirits and is completely un-peated.



This rarity has been bottled at a very unusual natural cask strength of 45% alcohol- yes really! The angels really took their share of this one.

This is proudly presented at natural cask strength, un-chill filtered and natural colour.



Filled from one ex-bourbon barrel. One of only 76 bottles with only 50 available to the Uncharted community.

WHICH DISTILLERY?
Loch Lomond distillery, dating from 1964, produces an abundance of brilliant spirits making fantastic use of their 8 different pot stills and 3 column stills. They can produce up to 3 million litres of malt a year and another 20 million litres of grain! Each spirit has different qualities but Inchmurrin, the un-peated, floral and fragrant spirit is one of the best and certainly the most elegant.

For the first time our 8 Year Old Cask Strength was split between two maturations. In recent years it has been fully sherry matured but the addition of a full port cask maturation sidekick has been very well received so far.

Nose
A delicate introduction to this dram
with an earthiness apparent from
the offset, opening up to notes of
red currants and parma ham.

Palate
A richness develops on the palate
with fruit notes reminiscent of dark
fruit gateau and cherry, along with
hints of chocolate.

Finish
The earthiness from the nose carries
through to the finish along with a
peppery note to round off this malt.

The Iconic The Striding Man

A cartoonist named Tom Browne came up with the logo. During a lunch with Lord Stevenson, one of Walker’s directors, Browne turned over a menu card and drew the now famous Striding Man figure on the back.

Introduced in 1909 it’s been ever present in Johnnie Walker marketing ads.
