Bespoke storage at our Skew House project
The design, which features in the latest issue of Homes & Interiors Scotland, includes a pull-out shoe rack, pull-out chest of drawers and a pull-out clothes rail with an additional standard wardrobe on the end
Each pull-out unit is around 1200mm in length (double the depth of a standard wardrobe) and occupies a part recess into the roof void. The units are constructed in birch plywood and mounted on heavy duty drawer slides. The chest of drawers were based on the dimensions of the range which allows any desired combination of drawers to be installed

As part of their feature on storage ideas for nurturing your nest the latest issue of Homes & Interiors Scotland includes the pull-out storage we designed for our Skew House project.
The unit is part recessed into the roof space and houses a shoe rack, chest of drawers and clothes rails – the design allows each section to be double the depth of a standard wardrobe.
Garden Nooks at The Long Houses
The breakout space is positioned between living room and kitchen - providing a sheltered retreat connected to the garden
The nook is carved into bespoke cabinetry that wraps around a study space that sits behind the nook and between the main living areas
We recently spoke with Homes & Interiors Scotland about the trend for nooks and breakout spaces in homes - you can read more about this in the latest edition of which is out now

We chatted about an increase in requests for bespoke 'nooks' – an elegant response to the way our homes have adapted throughout the pandemic to become places we live and work

'The Long Houses'
We're excited to share visuals of our project at Wester Balgedie
which has been submitted to planning - the three new homes overlooking Loch Leven have been designed to reflect traditional forms of existing houses within the village with a contemporary approach that defines the proposals as new additions to the historic 'ferm toun'
More details of the project coming soon

Delighted to receive planning permission for our proposed new build dwelling. A traditional style informed by its locality with modern accents such as the zinc and timber rear dormer which overlooks the sloping site - the mixture of old and new will be reflected within our interior design strategy currently in development
This , we're celebrating our continuing involvement in the restoration and development of the New Lanark World Heritage Site.
Our work here extends over 35 years with the latest phase commencing in 2016 with the restoration of the A-Listed Double Row terrace - the last empty block on the site having previously provided housing for millworkers in the village the properties will be brought back into residential use. The interior of one tenement, 'The Museum Stair' has also been conserved and stabilised - too delicate to allow public access; the interior has been digitally recorded for exhibition and conservation use.
The current phase, known as The Townscape Heritage Project is due for completion in 2020 and also includes work to Mantilla Row, Caithness Row and the Counting House.
You can read more about the project at http://www.newlanark.org/world-heritage-site/drprogramme.shtml
The shape of things to come at our project in Kinross.
The concrete floor structure has been poured and the ground floor layout of the new office space formed. The next key stage is the installation of the glulam structural frame - we're really excited to see this progress and the form of the building develop on site. We'll be sharing more images and videos on this project really soon.
Interesting afternoon at Glenalmond Timber Company in Perth learning about their processes and sourcing the glulam timber for an exciting new office project starting on site soon (we’ve gone for spruce and can’t wait to share more details very soon!)
Early sketch for our student social space in Edinburgh
We're sketching proposals for a biodiverse outside seating and kitchen feature which includes a vertical herb garden, bird houses and homes for bees (our smallest client yet)

Digital models play a crucial role in the design process, allowing proposals to be visualised and tested. For our Community Hall project in Midlothian, we're considering the proposed form in its context as well as the materials which will be used.
A number of material choices have been considered which complement, enhance or contrast with the neighbouring church building. Initial models have been created to allow us to study how these different materials then might work with the form of the building, with each other and with light.

Visuals for the proposed interior of our Boiler House project with The University of Edinburgh
Lost Edinburgh: A brief tour of Castlehill WITH its name recorded in text as early as 1484, the settlement at Castlehill is thought to be one of the oldest in the city – perhaps pre-dating the royal burgh itself.
We are pleased to announce that we have successfully obtained planning permission for a new office space within the High School Yards, Edinburgh. The proposals develop and extend an existing Boiler House on the site to provide working space for the University of Edinburgh's new Social Responsibility and Sustainability Department.
The project is due to start on site early 2015 and is planned for completion Summer 2015.
