A huge thank you to all the acts and comedy fans who have visited over the last month. The staff have had an exhausting last month but been excellent. Thanks to all the comedians and their thoughtful gifts.

First edition to the new classic vintage collection.

The Glenmorangie port cask finish 1975.

Bottled in the mid 1990s, this 1975 Port Wood Glenmorangie 19yo is an early example of what would become one of the distillery’s defining characteristics - the use of wine barrels to ‘finish’ the whisky’s maturation. This bottling represents a small but significant piece of whisky history.

St Mary's Wynd, looking up to High Street.

The current St. Mary’s Street was fashioned in the late 1860s on the site of the ancient St Mary’s Wynd. The old St Mary's Wynd was demolished as a result of the 1867 Edinburgh Improvement Act so here's a great opportunity to see it in the original state. The street was named after a Cistercian convent nearby and dates back to at least 1335. Remnants of the Flodden Wall built around the City lie below some of the west side buildings today.

The old Wynd witnessed a number of historic events including in 1513 James IV leaving with his mighty army heading south. Most never returned after the battle of Flodden. A few years later in 1567, the Earl of Bothwell took his leave of the city rather hurriedly following the 'death' of Mary Queen of Scots second hubby Lord Darnley. An accidental explosion killed Darnley at his house Kirk o' Fields. It is curious that his body was found in his garden and he appeared to have been strangled. Aye work that one out.

Well….. that was fun.

After a few years out, the fringe was back with a bang. Absolute hats off to all throughout for making it a fantastic year for comedians and performers to get back to doing what they love, entertaining. A massive thanks to for providing the perfect line up.
