Our new guest ale from Bays Brewery! Orangutan is a refreshing amber ale and 10p per pint is donated to wildlife conservation through their partnership with Paignton zoo 🦧🍺

The final Edinburgh print! Featuring the Royal Mile facing Deacon Brodies Tavern and the Bank of Scotland on Lawmarket. Detailing the old town in its shimmering evening beauty with its cobbled streets and stone walls, ancient alleyways and twinkling lights has been a dream.

On my visit to Edinburgh I found myself photographing every single pub obsessively along the Royal Mile, keen to spot the most ornate signage, the best hanging baskets, my favourite window displays and of course getting a pint in each.

I hope I've done it justice. I'd love to hear about your experiences along the Royal Mile!

We have some exciting news to announce…

Deacon Brodie’s Tavern will soon be temporarily closing for refurbishment & restoration works.

Have no fear, our much needed makeover will ensure that all of our original features dating back to the early 19th century are retained, including our ornate ceiling which will be carefully restored by experts.

We will be closing our doors at 5pm, Sunday 25th February, so you still have plenty of time to come down & enjoy a wee drink or of course, catch all of the action from the Six Nations - as Scotland take on England at Murrayfield 🏉

We won’t be away for long, with our reopening date set for 11am, Thursday 21st March! 🥂 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🍻

Did you know we are dog friendly? Don’t hesitate to bring your furry companions along! We have cold water bowls available behind the bar, our staff will be more than happy to serve to your four legged friends (Only costs a few cuddles 😉). Modelling here is one of our favourite regulars Parsley 🐶🐾
