We are seeking a dedicated trainee pest management technician to join our team. The successful candidate will receive full training to pass their Level 2 Award in Pest Management and become a qualified pest management technician.

• Ability to work independently
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Valid driver's licence (minimum 3 years driving experience)
• Must undergo pvg check.

Our race night takes place on Friday 29th March at Craigentinny Community Centre 6.30pm start I have a few tickets left if you would like to come along for a fun night 😃😃

Our pest Controller Brian is due to climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco in April this year, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research Uk (registered charity number 1077089 and SC042474) the Climb it's self takes 4/5 days to complete.

We have also organised a race night fundraising evening to try and raise additional funds for the cause. This will take place at Craigentinny Community Centre, 9 loaning Road, Edinburgh. on Friday 29th March. Tickets for event 95% sold.

As part of the fundraising campaign, we are organising a raffle which will be drawn at the race night and we are looking for raffle prize donations no matter how big or small.

Alternatively, We are also looking for businesses to sponsor a race for just £30, your business name will be added to the race night Programme for all to see as well as being shared in our socials. ( we currently have 3 sponsor spaces left)

We are also selling horse names at £5 per horse, so if you have a funny horse name that will give everyone a chuckle on the evening we would be happy to add this to our race Programme.

• Well presented, honest, friendly & polite.
• Strong communication & customer service skills. Have a good eye for detail. Ability to work well under pressure.

• The ability the plan and prioritise jobs.
• The ability to complete digital and written treatment reports.
• Comfortable with working at heights (Ladders, scaffolding & MEWPS etc)

Wasp season has officially started, we have recently been attending to visual wasp nests in sheds, playhouses, and garages, attic spaces, bird boxes. We have just this week stared to attend to confirmed nests under tiles, and vents of properties. Please keep a wee eye on these areas and give us a call if you spot any regular wasp activity on 0131 476 1763

Our wee moose had a day off today, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and soaking up the perfect views doing the Glen Lyon Horseshoe, which is 4 munros, Càrn Gorm 1029m, Meall Garbh 968m, CàrnMairg 1041m, & Creag Mhòr 981m. 🐭🐭 that’s number 30 smashed out of 282 only 252 to explore 🐭🗻

Not even 8.30am and our wee Moose and Brian have reached the summit Meall greigh in their 1st of 3 munro’s today.

CARPET MOTHS

It’s that time of year again.

Check carpets all around your home, particularly in the more unused areas. paying close attention to darker, humid areas, including behind furniture and along your skirting boards, and in cupboards as these tend to get ignored when hoovering.

You’re looking for threadbare patches across your carpets or rugs when checking these areas. It’s important to remember that carpet moths are only small creatures; you should be looking for patches no larger than the palm of your hand.

Carpet moths are not great fliers they tend to hop or crawl along the floor. An adult moth can lay between 50 -100 eggs at any time, then eggs take between 5- 10 days to hatch depending on their conditions. During the larvae stage after hatching this is where the moths create lots of damage, So you can see a problem can quickly escalate if not dealt with quickly.

carpet moths are not just after carpets! look out for signs of damage on any natural materials in and around the house or attic space.

Great article from the bumble bee conservation trust.
Last year in Edinburgh we seen a huge increase in tree bumble bees. This is very encouraging to see.
We hope it’s the same again this year. We mainly see bumbles in old bird boxes, under sheds and in wee holes in the ground.
