Geogpals is recruiting new leaders for next school year! Volunteer with us and help the new first years, have fun, and do something that'll look pretty good on your CV! Expected workload is around 1-2 hours a week :)

If you are interested, send us a message on Facebook! You will have to go through two training sessions run by EUSA in May (these are very flexible since they know its exam times).

The deadline for applying is the end of March, its open for 2nd-4th years, and there is no application process. Just let us know that you want to join, are up for putting in the time required, and want to help plan and run geogPALS sessions and meetings.

As a GeogPALS leader you can also get HEAR recognition and receive the Edinburgh Award for your work - two other great additions to your CV.

Its an easy way to make a difference, get volunteer experience, positively impact the School of Geosciences and its students, while gaining plenty of transferable skills (leadership skills, project management, communication, presentation skills, marketing, etc.).

Send us a message and let us know if you want to join or have further questions :D
- The GeogPALS team

Hey everyone! We're doing an essay session on Thursday from 1-2 in room 2.05 in Drummond Street to help you prepare for the physical geography degree essay due in week 9!

Come along and we'll help you make a great essay plan. You don't have to have anything planned or throughout for the essay, but if you do that's of course fine too 😉

- Martin

03/02/2020

Our first session will be this Thursday (week 4) from 1-2 in Drummond st room 2.05!

We will cover physical geography content, how that is different from human geography, so you can get the most out of your time in the course.

As always if you have anything else you wish we'd cover in the session or have any questions come along and we'll help 😁

27/01/2020

Just to let you know, THIS IS NOT US, we are *Geog*PALS (Geog for geography) instead of *Geo*PALS (Geo for geology). The issue of names has been discussed over the past few years, and the consensus are that 1. It is confusing 2. Someone has to change theirs 3. GeogPALS will always be GeogPALS...😏

Anyways, remember to come back and we will see you at week 4!😀

20/01/2020

Hello! Just to let you know that the first GeogPALS session this semester will be Thursday week 4, from 1-2pm in room 2.05 in Drummond Street - we'll be doing lecture shoutouts as well before that to remind you :)

This semester we are focusing on Physical Geography, and since many of you are mainly human geographers part of the first session will be on how to adapt to doing physical geography. During the semester we'll be going over how to approach physical geography essays, the exam, and the content in general.

If any of you have questions regarding physical geography - could be on note taking, the articles, assignments, etc. - send us a message and we'll help you out or direct you to where you can best get help :)
