💚 Kindness is defined by doing something towards yourself and others, motivated by genuine desire to make a positive difference 🌞. Kindness, therefore, is not just an emotion, but is defined by our actions.
😊Evidence shows that being kind really does improve your wellbeing.
🤝With this in mind, we’re suggesting that we all try to help others for once a day for a week and see if it makes a difference to how we feel.
📱Here are a few examples of things you could do on social media:
💚Take time to reach out online to people you haven’t seen for a while
💚Write something nice or encouraging on a post you appreciate
💚Acknowledge and validate someone’s story – if they are having a difficult time you don’t have to have all the answers, sometimes a like or a brief ‘I’m sorry to hear this, is there something I can do?’ is enough to make them feel heard
💚Think about what you share - look at the source of the post, and the tone. If it isn’t kind, think twice. If something could upset others and you feel you need to post it, use a trigger or content warning
💚Think about your comments and replies. Try not to say nasty things, or pile on where somebody questions another persons actions.

Mental Health Awareness Week starts today, to reduce the stigma of something that effects millions of us around the world.
Research in 2016 estimated that 1 in 6 people have experienced a common mental health problem like anxiety, stress, depression, bipolar or schizophrenia.
And given the extra challenges and experiences of , we all need to show extra care and kindness to ourselves and others.
Which is why the Mental Health Foundation's theme this year is really close to our hearts - kindness!
We're holding an online workshop this Thursday evening, where our founder Vicky will talk about mental health and how gratitude, self-compassion and mindfulness have really helped her to live a happier life.
