The last of 2023 cakes 🥰 I'm on a slow return back to baking and while I'm not planning to overdo it at the start of this year please don't hesitate to message me to see if the date you need is free and to get a quote. 😁

So this is what was going on while I was learning how to do the fire walking.

Hi all, so the time off from caking has helped with sorting my head and life out and I'm getting settled in to my new "normal" of living with menopause and grief 😔 so many thanks to you all for your patience and understanding.

Cakes are starting up again now and there will be some mini Christmas cakes again this year available from 15th December.

I've started doing more things on my bucket list which has been good for my mental health (before I get too old 🤣) and this Saturday I'm doing a firewalk and raising money for Arthur Rank Hospice.

Should have done this a while back but head and common sense have not been in the best of places for many reasons over the past six months. This was a challenge so it deserves its own post 😁

This Marshall JVM410H/1960A Angled Half Stack is all cake and to scale (well the original measurements were 🤣 but things change slightly once you start assembling things and tweaks were made, so definitely didn't end 100% accurate) but maths and diy where needed to get this bad boy completed, so my brain now hurts 🤣🤣
The fender telecaster is also to scale in its own right but not to scale to amp and yes there is wire used for guitar strings, the only way I could see to do it.

It's a first for me and definitely involved some very late nights and wishing for an extra pair of hands but loved the end result and while I look at it and see all the flaws hopefully you guys will see it and just love the fact that it's made out of cake. 🥰🥰🥰

It was a pleasure to help The Hive - Leisure Centre in Ely celebrate their 4th anniversary this week with a rather large red velvet cake 🥰🥰

Busy week for cakes on top of a busy week at day job due to staff shortages nearly wiped me out last week, but dispite a lack of sleep at the end of the week it all worked out ok and loved the mix of different designs this week. (Easter cakes are cute ones I made for day job 😁) 🥰🥰

So I had my first EHO visit yesterday for 10 years and I'm happy to say she found no issues and only recommended I get a holder for my blue roll and apparently there's an updated version of the food safety standard book I can order. So just have to wait and see if I've kept my 5 stars 🤞🤞🤞🤞

It was a pleasure to provide the cake for two Springer spaniel groups this year as they both celebrated their 75th birthdays. Two very different cakes but both a huge success and based on designs sent by the customers. The black and white is hand iced after carefully marking out picture on the cake and the purple was hand moulded and painted based on a diary cover which all their members received as part of the birthday celebrations.

So this was the beast that made my day (the stand is 16 inches square 😲) the scribbled drawing at the end is the excited plans made with two very enthusiastic and wonderfully crazy grooms.
They both knew they wanted the whole 80's shebang. In your face, neon bright, could be seen from the whole room but with a huge big pinch of them in it.
The colours and rubix cube (which is technically correct and if real could be played with 🤣) are both very 80's and the zebra stripe colours match their shirts and waistcoats and you may think wow but they pulled it off in style and they both looked gorgeous and very dapper 🕺🕺🥰🥰
It was an absolute pleasure to work with them on the design and see them on their big day to wish them congratulations and see their reactions to the cake and I left there with happy tears and feeling like a star 🤩🥰😇🌟

Just set up a wedding cake and remembered why I bake (daft as that sounds sometimes it becomes routine) the reaction of both of the groom's was the reason why I put the time and love into what I do. From a scribbled drawing and excited planning months ago to the blood sweat and grind that goes into making their dreams come true you realise it's all worth it when you see the joy on their faces as you got it right and made them exactly what they wanted to make their day more special. You'll have to wait for photos tomorrow but it's totally out of the box and fits the pair of them perfectly.

When your son leaves his job to go off to uni and you somehow get conned into providing a leaving cake of his choice!!!!

Yes it's a pack of incontinence pads for those not in the know or wondering WTF but he's worked at Independence ltd for Judy and "big Nick" so that should explain the reason behind the cake, and he's sorted lots of "old people stuff" that he didn't know existed or was needed during his time there 😁

(Pretty sure he also tried to pass the cake off as something he'd knocked together!!! (cheeky sod) 🤣🤣)
