I’ve replaced a lot of smoke alarms in Exminster over the last few the years, but I’m still coming across alarms that are very out of date. Here’s one I replaced this week, it expired 19 years ago! If your alarms look anything like the older, yellowed one, chances are it’s out of date and needs replacing. With the clocks going back, it’s TIME to check your smoke alarms are still working. Press and hold the test button to make sure they’re still functioning (sorry about the noise) and check the replace by date.

Quick job this morning in Exminster. Out with the old, in with the new. Replacement of 8 old halogen downlights in a kitchen for new LED downlights. Only 4 lights worked when I arrived, either faulty transformers or lamps. These new lights do away with the transformer above the ceiling so no need to remove the light and damage the ceiling in the future, just a simple bulb change when it goes in the future.
Much more energy efficient and cheaper on the electricity bill!

While we're stuck indoors with nothing better to do, before resetting your clocks on your appliances, why not press the 'test' button (sometimes marked with a T) on your RCDs to ensure they're still functioning. Also check that your smoke alarms still beep! ⏰

Figures are of 2017 according to the Office of National Statisticics. It would be easy enough to work out what each person is entitled to based on their tax returns. Include self-employed in statutory sick pay.
