Burrow Farm

Burrow Farm is a working organic dairy farm situated in the heart of East Devon.

We sell our own Red Ruby Devon beef from our farm shop in Broadclyst, and at monthly farmers markets throughout Devon. We also run two butchers shops locally, where you can buy our beef as well as local pork, lamb and chicken. Our butchers have over 100 years of experience between them and make our own Burrow Farm sausages and beefburgers themselves. You can find our butchers shops at Taverners Fa

One of our most popular stalls is back today!

Burrow Farm are here with their tasty steak pasties, cheese and leek pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs.

They're normally here every Friday and at Tiverton Farmers Market but, unfortunately, Sally has been unwell and unable to attend since Easter.

Her mum Eileen has stepped in to run the stall today.

We wish Sally a speedy recovery and hope to see her very soon.

🐄🧀🏆 PRODUCT OF THE WEEK – CHAMPION CHEESE! 🐄🧀🏆

Visit the market to sample a champion cheese – inspired by cows that are milked in the field rather than a parlour!

Openairdairy Mature Cheddar won the Champion Cheese accolade at the Taste of the West Awards.

You can find it on the Hillside Farm stall in the south hall every Friday and Saturday, along with dozens of other tasty cheeses.

One of the two families behind the success runs the stall next door – Burrow Farm – and the milk is used in their popular cheese and leek pasties.

Neil Grigg, co-owner of The Open Air Dairy in Dorset, said the concept was "pretty unique".

"Our cows are milked in whichever field they are grazing," he said.

"They don't even come in for milking.

"We take the milking parlours to the cows wherever they are.

"We believe the cows are happier and healthier this way and we believe you can taste this happiness in every bite of our cheddar."

Neil, whose wife Sally can be found here on Fridays and at farmers markets, owns The Open Air Dairy with his friend Tom Foot, who he met while studying at the University of Plymouth.

Neil said the cows lived "a laid-back way of life".

"Our cows live outside all year round in harmony with the beautiful surroundings of the Dorset countryside, grazing on grass and roaming the pastures," he said.

"We believe this makes our cows happier, we know it makes them healthier and we are convinced this is what makes our cheddar taste so great!"
