It all started with our father, Ronald Dart, back in 1971 when he started one of Britain’s first pick-your-own businesses; Pic Fresh. Long before it became fashionable, he believed that we should eat what is in season and produced as locally as possible.
In 1982, our father passed away and the newspapers said ‘Death of a Pioneer’. Since then with these same core values ingrained in us, Pic Fresh has evolved into Darts Farm as we know it today.
We hope you have a special day celebrating the dads who can and can’t be with us ❤️
St James is back!
A washed-rind ewe’s milk cheese, made by , at his farm in Cumbria.
Fans of this iconic seasonal cheese will know that it can vary significantly from year to year as well as over the season.
The first batch that arrived with us has a firm but yielding texture, a pretty peachy orange rind and a salty, cocoa-y flavour. It’s fantastic.
If you’re stuck for Father’s Day ideas… a good hunk of St James will do the trick!
We are thrilled to announce that we have won 3 awards at the prestigious IEWA 2024 awards! .iewa
🥈 Silver for our Sparkling White 2020
🥉 Bronze for our Sparkling Rose 2018
🥉 Bronze for our Still White 2020
We couldn’t be prouder of our team, particularly our winemaker, Alex!
The IEWA is an independent, consumer focussed English wine competition with an aim to highlight the creativity, quality, innovation and vision of producers making world class wine in England.
As quoted by one of the Judges, Suzy Atkins, wine writer & presenter at the Telegraph. “The IEWA has done it again, shining a spotlight not only on long-established, well-known wineries, but also lesser-known producers - the stars of the future.”
Possibly the only thing more exciting than finding your new favourite wine, is learning it’s made just down the road!
🍾 In celebration of this and English Wine Week coming up, we have the following special offers for a limited time only;
Still
£10 | 6 for £50
Sparkling
£25 | 2 for £40
The Yard Restaurant News!
For over 20 years, our ‘main restaurant’ has been the core of Darts Farm, with chefs Paul & Rhys the heart and soul of the restaurant for all of this time.
Over time we have grown a little, with the addition of two new eateries in the last 24 months, which has meant working out which restaurant is which has become slightly confusing for our customers!
If you are familiar with our story, you will know that our journey began over 50 years ago with a passion for selling produce from our own farm directly to our local community. Since then, we have gently grown with the same purpose and values, renovating our old farm barns into the Darts Farm you know today. In fact, when you join us in this restaurant, you’re actually sitting in what was once our old farmyard.
Therefore, we are excited to unveil the newly and aptly named ‘The Yard Restaurant’. Here’s to the next 20 years of memories!
Photo 1 - 3 – The transformation of our old farmyard into the restaurant begins over 20 years ago
4 – Michael Dart with friend and Architect Tony Pollintine, now director of Grainge Architects, who still to this day is working with us, as we dream up the future
5 - Head Chef Paul Matthews & Sous Chef Rhys in the early days
6 - Paul, Tom and Rhys still here today running the show
7 - One of the many fun times over the years, thank you for all your support!

Harnessing Natures Power ☀️
Sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do here at Darts Farm; from our traditional farming practices and zero food miles to our solar energy and borehole.
We believe in energy that doesn’t cost the earth. Last summer finished fitting all our solar panels on our entire roof.
Our solar panels harness natural energy from the sun to fuel the Farm Shop. The excess hot air from our refrigeration units is then captured & used to heat our water, which is all drawn from our farm bore hole!

What is Reflexology?
An ancient Chinese technique that uses pressure point massage to the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the body. The idea behind it is that areas of the feet (known as reflexes) correspond to other areas of the body. By stimulating these reflexes, the other areas of the body are prompted to begin healing and promote the natural functioning of the whole body, feeling more relaxed and balanced.
5 reasons to try reflexology...
1. Stress relief - Allowing you to truly switch off and relax, reflexology can help to promote a state of balance and harmony within the body.
2. Helps you sleep – Through stimulating the pineal and pituitary glands along with the relaxing qualities of the therapy make it ideal for those who struggle to sleep.
3. Boosts the immune system - Reflexology encourages the body’s self-healing process, helping it to ward off infection.
4. Pain relief - A complementary therapy for managing pain, including chronic pain conditions such as headaches, migraines, and back pain. stimulating certain reflex points can help alleviate discomfort and promote the body's natural healing processes.
5. Circulation – Prompting blood flow throughout the body, contributing to better oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells, as well as improved waste removal processes.
While not a substitute for medical treatment, reflexology is sometimes used as a complementary therapy for certain health conditions, such as digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, insomnia, and anxiety.

The Dart Story
In the 1970's Ronald Dart started selling his fruit and vegetables to the local community from a small hut at the bottom of his field. From these humble beginnings Darts Farm has blossomed to become what is today - a nationally regarded local food hub, selling the produce of hundreds of the regions local food and drink producers.
Today the farm is run by Ronald Dart's three sons - Paul, Michael and James Dart, who between them continually endeavour to keep the original values at the heart of the business.
The Darts Farm of today is the product of a passion for farming and providing good quality, local produce to a community that cares about its cultural heritage.
