A thick build up of callus was hiding a number of corns for this lovely lady. Doing a job that involves being on her feet all day should feel a bit more comfortable now 👣☺️

As I go into my second year of practice, I thought I would just post a little bit of information about myself and what I do.

I'm Bev, I work full time in a lovely Dental Practice, and in March 2022 I qualified as a Foot Health Professional, and I do this role on Fridays and Saturdays. I have had a wonderful first year treating feet and have met the loveliest people.

During my appointments I will check pulses on the feet, and do everything I am able to to make your feet more comfortable than when I arrived, all in the comfort of your own home.

A caring gentle practitioner, I always allow lots of time for every client I visit, and am always happy to be chatting while I work.

A common statement when people hear what I do is 'I'd be too embarrassed to show you my feet' - trust me I haven't yet met a pair of feet I'm not happy to see - the bigger the challenge the greater the reward in seeing the difference you can make to someone.

My client list ranges from age 8 to age 94 - with all ages in-between.

The most rewarding afternoon doing a complete foot makeover for this lovely lady who is housebound with poor mobility.

As well as helping her feet we had the most wonderful conversation and lots of laughs to lift the soul too.

Sometimes my appointments are as much about having company as the care we give to the feet. ❤️

Please be vigilant with your feet. Sometimes callus can be masking something underneath such as ulceration.

It's always better to have something checked by a professional if in doubt.

My lovely client today has very thickened nails making them very difficult for him to manage.

Thinning the nails enables them to be cut comfortably. Due to the thickness of the nails hard uncomfortable callus builds up on the end of the toes so we treated this too, followed by a general file to get rid of dead skin, and finally a lovely foot massage with moisturising cream.

Where we started and how we finished - my lovely client cannot remember when she last saw lovely soft pink skin on her heels.

Over three appointments I gradually removed the callus and today's final result is very rewarding.

In my client's words 'they look like normal feet'.

On her feet all day she will now be feeling much more comfortable 😊

It's been a few days of relieving lovely ladies & gents of their sore callused heels 👣

Daily moisturising with a good quality foot cream is recommended to try and maintain lovely soft skin 👣
