Fun Fact Friday 🐰
From - The rabbit welfare association & fund-
Rabbits' teeth grow continuously!
This is why it’s so important a rabbit's diet should be made up of around 85% hay or grass.
The specific action of chewing the long strand fibre of grass or hay wears the teeth down evenly. It is only this chewing action that keeps their teeth properly worn in the way nature intended.
If a rabbit isn’t eating enough hay, its constantly growing teeth will not be naturally worn down. The edges will continue to grow and cause painful spurs that cut into the gums, tongue and sides.
As part of our community partnership with Leas Cliff Hall Folkestone we attend pre-shows with a pet raffle, where you can take home a prize for a cat or dog.
At the last Tribute show, thanks to the generous Tina Turner fans, we raised over £75!
Dotty our fundraising dog will be at the Leas Cliff Hall again tonight, if you're going to see the George Michael, pop over and see our team 😀 🐶
🦅This juvenile gull was collected from Sandgate after it was seen struggling.
Our Animal Welfare officer was able to use a little food encouragement and a net to collect the bird. She then rushed him to the Anna house vets for assessment and treatment.
If you want to support us, your local branch, to continue the vital animal care needed in our community, just text 'tweet' to 70580 and donate £3 today.

As the evenings and mornings get darker, increased numbers of deer are involved in road collisions. 💔
🦌Please drive cautiously, and be alert on your travels.
If you sadly have a collision with a deer, please report it to the police and record the incident here: www.deeraware.com
Poor Gary🐱
You may recognise this fellow after we posted previously to see if anyone knew of the owner. Unfortunately, it came to light that he was a stray who had been visiting several gardens.
He was poorly but a pickle to catch. After setting a trap and with the help of a kind member of public, our Animal Welfare officer was able to get him to a cattery to receive the treatment needed.
He is now boarded by our branch at Rspca Ashford Garden Cattery.
Sadly, Gary really isn't enjoying life at the cattery and is finding it very stressful. He is very frightened of people, and despite a hands-off approach and giving him the quietest place possible, he is still very worried.
Staff believe a new home on a farm, small holding, stables, or a rural/semi rural home with outbuildings would suit Gary best.
If you are able to help Gary with his predicament, please contact RSPCA Ashford -01233 646855

Here's some top tips from PDSA on how to keep your cat calm during the firework season 🐱
🦔 Great advice from the wildlife trusts on how to keep our prickly friends save during bonfire season 🪵🔥
Fireworks bring joy to many. But for your neighbours with pets, horses or livestock, it can be a time of intense stress. We want to inspire everyone to create a better world for every animal. That’s why we’re calling on everyone to make one change and this season.
Things to watch out for with public displays
🐎Host the display away from livestock
🐑Choose a display that’s hosted away from livestock, horses and land used to rear or keep animals.
🐶Don’t bring your pets to displays
🐕Leave your pets at home–loud noises and crowds can cause them stress and anxiety

Want to repurpose your pumpkins? 🎃
Discarded pumpkins can harm some wildlife, including hedgehogs, so please avoid leaving them on the ground or in woodland areas.
You can offer fresh pumpkin and seeds to birds in your garden feeders, but remember to remove any leftovers before they get mouldy.
