Good morning to all our followers and supporters!
Today we are loading vital high grade medical equipment which in the course of the next week will be driven to the front lines of Ukraine. Our wonderful Dr Tina has been instrumental in organising this aid, as she has on previous occasions and without her knowledge and insight we simply would not have this specialist equipment going to these hospitals.
Along its journey it will stop at various hospitals within Ukraine and drop the equipment and supplies where they are most needed. This will include hospitals in Rivne, kiev and Kherson which will receive vital anaesthesia and surgical equipment. It will be helping to save lives this week!
Gary our fantastic driver and volunteer will be embarking on his journey later this week and we would like to thank him and wish him safe passage and for all his dedication and commitment. This is a long and dangerous journey and without his support we would simply not be in a position to help save Ukrainian lives.
I will keep you posted but thank you all for your continued love and support for the wonderfully brave Ukrainian people.

Good evening all
Just a quick update!
Last week, Denise, my wife and I loaded a Luton van of high grade medical equipment donated very kindly from local hospitals. It was a full load of vital supplies and left for Rivne, Kyiv and Kharkiv last Sunday, it has arrived today in Kyiv. Many people have been instrumental in this latest venture and no more than Gary the volunteer who has driven it there. This is his 5th such trip delivering aid to Ukraine. Thank you all so very much for making this possible.
Recently we have linked up with SHAP (Swindon humanitarian aid partnership) based in central Swindon who are a like minded volunteer organisation and have sent a similar amount of aid to Ukraine. They have a warehouse and collect aid and make trench candles on site with there volunteer helpers.
They are instrumental in obtaining donated ex local authority single decker buses and converting them into whatever is required by the people of Ukraine. The first bus has recently been completed and converted into a mobile hospital. They are doing some wonderful work!
The next bus they are considering converting into a mobile children’s centre for play and interaction with their peers. Watch this space as we may be asking for you to assist gathering donations for this next project! This project is very much in its infancy but is at the heart of President Zelensky wife who has a particular passion for ensuring Ukrainian children are assisted and supported through this terrible war.
We are hoping to send another artic this summer but are busy ensuring we will have a full load. It is possible that we may be sending several hundred more donated prams but we are currently in the process of negotiating this with both the supplier and logistics company. I will keep you updated.
Thank you for continuing to support our work. Any cash donations can be given on our just giving page and as we strive to continue this work it becomes all the more imperative that people continue to donate and support this work. Every single penny goes directly to either transport costs, currently around £3000 per artic truck, or purchasing medical equipment, supplies, food and whatever else we are asked to supply by the people of Ukraine.
Our work continues so please help us to continue to support the wonderful people of Ukraine.
Thank you!

What a super human effort once again from our lovely volunteers!
Another full load of mainly medical supplies, PPE, some food and clothing is on its way, it will reach Ukraine by Tuesday all going well!
This lorry will go to Rivne and Kiev.
It was wonderful to load today with such like minded and generous people who put others needs ahead of there own. Laughter, banter and a a real sense of community pervading at, in essence, what is a heartbreaking situation! But to get us through and motivated requires a strong sense of camaraderie and the odd silly joke! Well done to each of you!

There will be another lorry within the next couple of months so please keep collecting and donating to Kent Help for Ukraine. Remember each lorry costs approximately £3000 to £4000 depending on where it is going in Ukraine. Every penny therefore counts and we cannot get our aid out there if we can’t pay for the lorries!

This war is far from over although not as frequently in the headlines a year on sadly. Never is our support more needed however than right now, as the brave Ukrainians hold onto their stolen territories.

We are here for the long haul so please stay with us for the journey!

16/03/2023

Good evening all
The lorry has now been half loaded with aid in Swindon today by our super partners at SHAPS.
It will make its way to us later tonight and be ready to load tomorrow morning from 11ish
There will be some re packing required of some items before it’s loaded.
See you tomorrow 🇺🇦🙌

15/03/2023

Hi everyone
Just to update you as I promised I would!
Our next lorry is very nearly here. It is first going to Swindon tomorrow to fill with approximately a half load of humanitarian aid donated by a group of volunteers much like ourselves! SHAPS are going for charitable status and are very nearly there! They have sent approximately the same amount of aid as ourselves! Around 1000 tons or close to!
I shall give further updates as this exciting development and partnership moves forward.
The lorry will be with us on Friday morning at Easylift solutions on Henwood ind estate in Ashford and we hope to load from 11am. We are eternally grateful to the tremendous generosity of Steve and his fantastic team at Easylift who have enabled us to store our donations at their site and provide transport to collect donations from around Kent and beyond! True stars and a wonderful example of individuals wanting to do what they can to assist the Ukrainian people at no cost to us as an organisation thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We have a wide range of wonderful donations from clothes, sheets, blankets, hygiene items and food to some very specialised medical equipment and supplies. Our lovely partners in the NHS have come up
trumps yet again as well as the great British public!
Our core volunteers have been tremendous these last few weeks, thank you guys and girls you know who you are!!🙏❤️
A local TV crew is hoping to be with us to as we load our Ukrainian lorry.
I hope to see you on Friday and thank you for your continued support. Please continue to spread the word! Bless you on behalf of Ukraine 🇺🇦

Clothing and shoes
Blankets and bedding and
Toys were loaded successfully and will shortly be on their way to Ukraine 🇺🇦
This huge effort is no mean feat and takes the combined effort and skills of a range of like minded people. From Igor sourcing our transport and detailing the paperwork, Valia endlessly sourcing new leads and driving the project forward, Peter bossing us around with his boundless energy and enthusiasm and all the wonderful volunteer group who I am so proud to call my friends and work alongside.
YOU, each and every one of you make a difference and that’s a very proud achievement in such a cruel world. That you must hold close and and never fail to go above and beyond the normal, let’s keep pushing that bar! URGENT APPEAL for Pram Transportation to Ukraine

For those of you who don’t know us, Kent Help for Ukraine are a group of local volunteers based in Folkestone, who came together in March 2022 with the intention of sending a lorry or two of donated humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine. We were blown away by local generosity and this has enabled us to fund and fill 20 articulated lorries! This aid was distributed by reputable Ukrainian charities and their volunteers, with whom we now have a strong bond. For further details see our website https://www.facebook.com/kenthelpforukraine22

You may be one of the wonderful local businesses who have previously supported us and for this we truly thank you on behalf of the Ukrainian people.

Included in our last lorry was a consignment of 40 brand new prams (that convert to buggies). These were donated by a manufacturer as a result of an unexpected contract cancellation with a reputable High Street retailer. This donation came with the strict proviso that they were not sold or distributed in the UK. They were so very gratefully received by our Ukrainian Orphanage Charity.

Out of the blue this week we have been offered the remaining 800 prams from the cancelled order. We urgently need to transport these prams along with other items of humanitarian aid to the orphanage warehouse and other nominated sites in Ukraine. We surely cannot allow these wonderful items to be destroyed when so many people have little or nothing in Ukraine. If we are unable to accept this offer and fund the transport of the 800 prams (RRP £350 each) they will be sent for scrap.

We will require three 40ft articulated lorries to complete this project. We currently have funds for one lorry, but we URGENTLY need to raise £6,000 to fund the remaining two, which need to leave Folkestone in early December. If we are in the fortunate position of being oversubscribed with any excess funds, we will purchase non-perishable palletised foodstuffs from a local reputable retailer and source warm children’s clothing.

We are also especially proud of having made and sent over 1000 ‘Bags of Love’ filled with goodies for babies to teenagers. A number of these were personally transported and delivered to the hospitals and orphanages in and around Lviv by two of our volunteers. They witnessed for themselves the devastation and heart ache currently being rained down upon Ukraine. We currently have 600+ ‘Christmas Bags of Love’ ready to send in early December, to displaced and orphaned children.

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP

We are not a registered charity just a group of strong minded and determined volunteers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of ordinary Ukrainian people undergoing great hardship. However, if you are open to making a charitable donation, we work closely with ‘Ukraine Charity’ which is a UK registered charity with a history of over ten years raising funds for children’s hospitals and orphanages across the Ukraine. They will accept your financial donation on our behalf to allow complete transparency. This means supportive businesses who require their donations be made through registered charities only, can do so in this manner.
Ukraine Charity is registered with Charity Commission for England and Wales (registration number 1163036) web. Ukrainecharity.org

Total so far : 581
Target: 1000

581 Christmas Bags of Love for Children in Ukraine have been boxed and made ready for transport.

We will keep going so that as many children as possible can have a happy moment and bag of gifts amidst this terrible situation.

We have had many volunteers making bags, knitting incredible toys, hats, gloves and scarves.

Many gifts have been donated from community groups, individuals and schools all gratefully received and immediately packed!

Please continue to support us in any way you can by visiting the just giving page, using the amazon wish list or donating a small unwrapped gift to a local collection point.

No donation is too small and it all adds up to become more bags for the Ukrainian children.

Huge thanks to all of you for your support and let’s make it a 1000 or more!

Next week, between the 9th and 10th of August, we plan on sending out our next lorry to Ukraine, filled with essential humanitarian aid for civilians and families most in need. However, this simply cannot be done without your help and support.

Before Lorry #20 officially hits the road, we need your help to ensure it does exactly that. Every penny raised and that we kindly receive will help fund pallets of food that will be loaded onto this next lorry, something that Ukrainian civilians are in urgent need of.

No matter how large or how small your donation is, please be assured that it is going to make all the difference.

We are KHFU, and we remain united for Ukraine 💙💛

On 24 February 2022, the citizens of Ukraine were confronted with the unthinkable. And while a lot has changed and happened in that time, it is the sound of air raid sirens and families being torn apart that has become their new normal.

This invasion and crisis have changed the lives of every person in Ukraine, and we refuse to stand aside during this difficult time. Essential support, humanitarian aid and joy can all be provided through your help, and collectively, we have the power to make a difference.

Here is Peter Ireland, one of the founders of KHFU, discussing our latest initiatives and why your help and donations have never been more important. Remember, no matter how large or small your donation is, it will make a profound impact.

Lorry #18 has made it through to Ukraine safely! 🇺🇦

We have recently enjoyed many sunny days in the UK, and now thanks to the generosity of those who have donated, the children of Ukraine can also enjoy this summer sunshine with their new outdoor toys.
