Why is infused lemon and lime water good for us?
DETOX
When going through a detox process, even if its just increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet, its a good idea to drink lemon or lime water first thing in the morning. Going through a detox without enough water is like taking the rubbish out to the street without a bin collecting service to pick it up.
Once detoxification has drawn the gunk out of your cells and tissues (your liver does much of the work overnight), it needs to be flushed out when you wake up - otherwise, those toxins settle back in.
Try drinking two 16 ounce glasses of water (half with lemon or lime squeezed into each) just after waking up, then give your liver half an hour to clean up before eating breakfast.
Lemon and lime water is more beneficial for this process than plain water, because filtration has often taken the life out of drinking water, and these citrus stars reawaken its healing abilities.
ORAL CARE
Contrary to popular belief, lemon and lime juice is excellent for oral health. Dilute the juice with some water to make the best antibacterial mouthwash and gum cleanser.
SLEEPING
If you have difficulty sleeping, a cup of warm water with raw honey and lemon or lime juice squeezed into it can calm busy electrical impulses and neurotransmitters, and aid in a restful sleep.

There's 60 seconds in a minute,
60 minutes in an hour,
24 hours in a day,
7 days in a week,
52 weeks in a year

Everyday athlete workouts are schdueld for no longer than 45 minutes and they keep burning calories throughout the day.
Thats the benefits of functional hiit training with weights, your body goes into the fat burning zone and with the correct fuel for your body you burn calories, gain strength and build muscle.💪
So going by "time" training for 45 minutes you'll have 23 hours and 15 minutes left in the day.
Training 4 times a week that'll only be 3 hours out of 168 hours.
And in a year you'd only train for 156 hours out of 8,760.
Time should never be an issue when it comes to working out and helping your mental and physical state.

The endless waltz of doing a loaded carry
One of my favourite exercises to add into a heavy weighted hiit routine.
Why?
They're the perfect functional all body exercise.
It's targets everything
• LEGS because each step walking with a weight for however amount of feet you choose to walk feels like double
• LOWER BACK and CORE because you need to keep them contracted to keep yourself moving
• TRAPS because you need to keep your shoulders level when walking and with the traps engaged the weight won't drop
• SHOULDER STRENGTH AND STABILITY with the weight above your head you shoulder must keep strong so not to injure or be dropped, keeping the weight at shoulder height is a sure thing move for shoulder strength too
• FOREARM grip because the length you hold the weight puts the forearm muscle under extreme strain and is perfect for rock climbers
• POSTURE forcing ourselves to keep a straight back while walking (perfect if you're at a desk for work)
• REDUCE INJURY RISK with it being a natural movement for our bodies there's less chance of injury which means we don't miss training
• FAT LOSS constant effort and focus is key especially when it's usually a short sharp burst of movement over a longer period of time (60 seconds for 6-8 sets)
Yes these exercises can give you the fear and they feel like they never end once you start but it's no coincidence farmers have a natural strength to them by doing this type functional work 💪🏼

Whether you love garlic or take pains to avoid it, one things for certain garlic deserves to be heralded as medicine for our world today.
Garlic is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal (including anti-mold), anti-parasitic, and rich on the phytochemical allicin, a sulfur compound that prevents disease.
If you feel like you're coming down with something like a sore throat, cold, or flu, mince one raw Clive of garlic and mash it into half an avocado, banana, or some cooked potato. Repeat this three times daily until you feel better (it does work I can honestly say from experience).

MEET YOUR COACH
A father of three who knows the challenges of being the best he can be whether it's training my body, training my mind or being a husband/dad.
Born and raised in Glasgow I earned my personal training qualifications over 10 years ago and my job at the time took me across Europe. This is where I learned about my body and how to train it with the biggest results.
Upon returning to Scotland I joined the gym group in Glasgow as well as dipping my toes into the film and TV industry with background acting, something I still do today (watch outlaw king, outlander, game of thrones and River city very closely).
In 2019 I embarked on an adventure with some close friends to compete in as many tough mudders as possible and this is where the idea of Everyday-Athlete was born, utilising the essential movements, implementing weights in nearly every exercise and keeping the intensity high on every session.
