Cancer affects a huge number of people and the side effects of the disease and it's treatment can have a massive impact on the day to day lives of those living with cancer. Massage may help you relax and can improve symptoms such as pain, lack of sleep and peripheral neuropathy.

I'm proud to be able to offer massage to people living with cancer or who recently finished treatment after achieving my Oncology Massage Diploma with The Glasgow School of Massage earlier this year. Having worked as a cancer nurse for 8 years, I have a great deal of knowledge which goes hand in hand with my massage skills.

Proud as punch!!! Congratulations to our students who are our newest generation of massage therapists graduating this week in their level 3 diploma in therapeutic massage and embarking of their exciting new career. Congratulations to you all in your hard work passing your exams.

Today the classroom smells like Thailand as we were delivering our FHT accredited diploma Thai Herbal Poultice Massage.

This herbal therapy was designed to relieve pain and tension. A selection of therapeutic herbs, including prai, ginger, turmeric and lemongrass, are wrapped in a muslin compress, steamed and then applied to the body in gentle pressing, circular and rolling movements. The steaming process softens the compress and the aroma intensifies as the essential oils in the contents are released.

Manual Lymphatic drainage and lymphoedema management.

We are delighted to have set up a recommended training pathway with The Lymphoedema Training Academy (LTA).
For students interested in a high level of manual lymphatic drainage training and Lymphoedema management then we would highly recommend training with The LTA, after completing our diploma in Therapeutic massage which includes a diploma in oncology massage you will have the relevant prerequisite to proceed onto their course. “Lymphoedema Management for Manual�Therapists (LMMT)”

There are many one day courses on MLD, “sculpting” and post surgery MLD available now and many treatments being advertised on social media. It has become a treatment of great interest to many clients and therapists.
We would always recommend a course like this one giving you comprehensive clinical understanding of the lymphatic system and manual lymphatic drainage so that when advertising your services you can take an inclusive approach and not only treat people requesting aesthetic and post surgery treatments but also enable you to help manage Lymphoedema.

Thank you all for your patience over the last year while I’ve been on reduced hours while on maternity leave (squeezing a full time job into 2 days). This has consisted of admin been done from my hospital bed the day after c-section, returning to classroom teaching when my son was 14 weeks old and squeezing admin into nap time for the last year.
This week he has started nursery so we resume a little more balance as I return to the classroom midweek. Phew! We kicked this momentous week off with our diploma in deep tissue and advanced massage and hot stones.

Liuda is providing excellent massage for those in Alexandria and surrounding area including oncology massage for those with a present or past cancer diagnosis.

In September 2022 I applied to do massage therapy, little did I know it was not going to be a breeze 🤭 last year I got my Level 3 massage therapy qualification and since then I have been working hard studying and practicing and finally it has all paid off and I am now a fully qualified Oncology massage therapist. It will not be an easy road I am fully aware and everyday will be a day I learn something new but I cannot wait to be able to provide my lovely clients with the new service.
