Forget what you think you know about how to pronounce this one! Tsing Tao (actually pronounced Ching Dow) is a truly authentic Chinese beer - since 1903 its only ever been brewed in the sea port of Qingdao in North Eastern China, guaranteeing that every bottle contains the same pure ingredients and has the same great taste. It’s brewed using Laoshan mountain spring water with the finest malt, hops and blend rice to mellow the bitter after taste making it the most drinkable beers around.

Double whammy this week for our Bier of the Week, and these 2 sell like hotcakes. Certainly the quirky paper wrapper lures people in, but those intensely fruity flavours in that rich Belgian style make for an unrivalled fruit beer experience.

Both follow a similar process in that typical Flemish old brown mixed fermented fashion, they are matured in oak casks and described as having a wine like taste.

On the left is Kriek, its ripe cherry flavour is light and refreshing with a spritzy tartness.
On the right is Framboise, with a well balanced sweet to sour raspberry taste.

Dreich (Scottish adjective) meaning depressing, miserable or cold - aka how Glasgow feels this week 😖 So we’re jetting off to warmer climates with our bier of the week. This is one of those beers our customers always say takes them straight back to their holidays ☀️

Mythos is a pale Greek lager with rich foam, a bright blonde color and complex, but distinct flavors. It has a balanced flavor with fruity nuances and hop notes, with a slight sweetness and rich, long-lasting aftertaste.

Unfortunately we can’t change the weather, but we can transport you to your fave holiday destinations with one sip (and maybe a blast of the heating as well 😜)

This week’s bier of the week is not for the faint hearted! At 8.5% it packs a punch 🤛
Delirium Tremens is a heavy blond beer that’s triple fermented with three different yeast strains, the last fermentation occurring in the bottle. It has malty aromas and fruity touches of orange zest, green apples, apricots and a hint of banana, it tastes full in the mouth with plenty of body and a long finish of dry bitters.

The name is derived from an alcohol withdrawal symptom that can leave you “seeing pink elephants,” which brought about the iconic logo we all know and love. It was named by a tax inspector as he became aware of slow approaching intoxication, joking that if he continued drinking he would get delirium tremens, and the name stuck.

With this in mind, we feel it’s only right to remind you lovely people to drink responsibly 😌

This week’s bier of the week is a new oldie, it had a brief hiatus from our fridges but it’s back by popular demand, and everyone’s buzzing about it.

Tusker is a pale lager with a crisp, refreshing taste and a balanced, mild hop bitterness. It’s brewed from 100% African ingredients, the barley is from Savannah & The Maasai Mara and the spring water is from the Aberdare Mountains, giving the drink an exquisite and authentic taste.

Introducing the Bier Halle bier of the week 🍻
We’re kicking it off with one of our top sellers, and it’s easy to see why. Augustiner Edelstoff is a helles beer that is crisp, refreshing and bright gold in colour. It’s a world class beer that’s made with only water, barley and hops, in accordance with German purity laws. It has understated notes of cut grass, herbs, sweet malts and a moderate level of bitterness. Combine this with its light bodiedness and delicate carbonation, and you have all the makings of a fantastic lager with a smooth mouthfeel.

With a brewery dating back to 1328, Augustiner-Brau is the oldest brewer in Munich and the last remaining independent brewer in the historic city. Hells (or Helles) simply means pale in German and describes the malty, easy-to-drink beer that is lovingly referred to as ‘liquid bread’.

New in this week! A lemon radler by the German giants Paulaner München. A 2.5% low-alcohol beer, with a golden hue crafted with traditional Bavarian brewing and natural lemon zest. It has the smooth maltiness of a wheat beer with the taste of lemon juice. In essence - summer in a can! ☀️🍺

Proud to announce our new and very first gluten free tap beer! Favela lager (5% ABV) is from Rio de Janeiro, it’s organic and vegan, with a crisp, fresh flavour which makes it a perfect accompaniment to all food. The organically grown barley & Brazilian Hops deliver a floral note to the brew, and the purity of flavour is protected by meticulous cold filtration
