That's me into month three of training for my fitness event next year. This year has gone so fast! A lot harder when you can't train 5/6 times a week like I used to but being a mama I just have to get it in where I can and do my best 💪🏼
One day my wee boy will be doing all this with me 🤍

I have wanted for so long to try out reformer pilates. Many of my clients through the years have done it and it's something I've never actually tried but always wanted to. That was until Friday. I got the pleasure of not only taking part in a class but having roles reversed, Lauren who was my client went and got her qualification for an instructor a few months back and she got the chance to put me through a session! I've been hoping Lauren would get her foot back into the fitness industry (background in dance)she was born for it!
Loved it! Your class was brilliant , hard and fun at the same time. It was great to try something new and I will be back. Also your music was brilliant 🎶
Go give her page a follow and try out her class in the west end 🤍💪🏼

Mamas this one is for you. Recently I was away on a lovely holiday and I met so many mums. After chatting to a few I realised we all had something in common. We have all experienced a feeling of losing a bit of ourselves since becoming mums. Now don't get me wrong we gain a whole other version of us which we absolutely love because we absolutely love our little sweethearts but being a mum is a 24/7 job and even if you get the chance to have some time for yourself you can't switch off.
I met a mum who was there with her two year old daughter I noticed she was there herself and said to her go grab your phone so I can take a picture of u both together you need to be in the photos too. She thanked me and grabbed her phone then immediately went awkward and said I've forgot how to be in a photo. I got this completely, my private insta used to be me and now it's all pictures of Brody. 🤣
Another I spoke to didn't feel comfortable with her weight having being used to being smaller. Again I got this, although I did get back to my usual size quick I didn't feel my usual shape and didn't feel strong anymore. But it's so hard to even get any sort of routine for myself! It's either no childcare, no sleep, working, all the household chores (which u cant get away with not doing when u have a wee one), unpredictable day of naptime routines/feeds/teething the list goes on!
It's only recently I've started to feel that bit of me coming back that I felt was gone.
Little fact. Flamingos that have become mums pink colouring fades. As their baby grows their pink starts to come back to its usual colour. Give it time mamas your pink will come back. 🦩
Enjoy your babies whilst they are so little, take off the pressure and do what u can.
It may help to make a list of your goals. Long-term and short-term.
Even if it's ' tomorrow I'm going to eat healthy and get out a walk'
Small steps will lead to big changes 🤍
This pic was from Saturday night after running a 5km. It was a push mentally to get it done but I felt so good for it! 💪🏼

Big thank you to for the invite down for a meal for two!
The food did not disappoint and is a better option for a takeaway while still getting your protein up 💪🏼
For veggies like myself there were still options too!

I will be back! 🤍

Excuse the towel on the head in my hotel room but I don't get two minutes to myself to take many selfies these days 😂
This is me at 8 months postpartum. I remember when pregnant thinking I would never have my abs return very quickly but so lucky they did!
I have given the year to Brody for breastfeeding which i love but is also very tying and it's exhausting being a mum as much as it's the best thing in the whole world. So I haven't been strict on myself with my diet and exercise I've just made sure to do what I can when I can even if that's just getting in my steps. I think leading a healthy lifestyle before falling pregnant and during has helped me so much because since he's been born I have definitely not had the same energy (esp as I have a non sleeper lol)
I want to be a fit muma for my boy so I can adventure with him for years to come so he will always be my reason 🤍
I'm ready to challenge myself again from next week and I'm actually excited to push myself again. 💪🏼
Mamas out there u are doing amazing this is a 24/7 job!

Yesterday's session gave me such a spring in my step. Since having a baby I pretty much got my size back straight away which I know is fortunate but my strength even though I was training up until a few days before having Brody has dropped quite a bit.
This girl always helps me get motivated to push myself again. No where near my usual strength yet but I will keep working on it!
Cheryl took the lead for a change this time and I had such a good workout 💪🏼🔥

We visited our gym family today ❤️💪🏼
So good to see them!! Brody loved being back where he recognised all those voices 🥰
𝔽𝕚𝕥𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤 𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕣𝕖𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕟!
I am absolutely loving being a mummy and being in my baby bubble. It's only been 5 weeks but I can't remember life without him.
Last night I braved leaving Brody for the first time since he was born to try going back to the gym.
I cannot believe how high my anxiety was but it was needed more than I realised.
Being a parent is THE BEST feeling in the world! But it is also exhausting and I've always said to parents u need your own time as well to do something for yourself. The gym is always what I enjoy. I loved being back even though I also couldn't wait to get home to my boy. So fitness content will be back as I get myself back into it. I'm not rushing anything, physically I feel totally ready, it's the mental side that's the hard part now.
Can't wait to work with my wonderful clients again soon and get myself back in to shape because my goodness did the weights feel heavy even though I trained throughout pregnancy!
One thing I'm gutted about is starting from scratch with chin ups and pull ups but I will practice what I preach and get back there again.
Thank you everyone for your continuous lovely messages 🤍💪🏻

So so proud of my beautiful client Amy. I shared her transformation a few months back and was already so proud of her but she has not stopped. Amy looks like a whole new girl and feels it too.
I can give the tools as a coach to work with but this just shows its up to how much the individual wants it themselves and Amy is certainly chasing her goals.
Even whilst I'm off on maternity she has followed the programme I have given her, even able to increase her calories again and STILL getting amazing results.
This girl has even managed her first unassisted chin up 💪🏻👏🏻
Looking and feeling 🔥
Amy you are doing amazing and I'm very proud of how far you have come in your journey! I'm excited to see what you achieve next! 🤍

All body's are different so I'm not posting this to say how easy it is at all because it's been exhausting and painful and absolutely not easy.
I am posting this just because I am so pleased with my own recovery so far. (Pretty sure it's the breastfeeding helping me out there!)
Long may it continue 🙏🏼
I will not be training just yet I will be making sure I am fully healed first and when I can go a day without medication! I look forward to getting back to a training routine again but for now it's just time to a have a few weeks just being mummy to my wee boy 🤍

Two year ago I wrote this and I feel the same still applies
The gym is one of those environments that can be extremely intimidating to those who do not live, breath and speak fitness. For some it's a massive step outside their comfort zone. They are not walking in to see their friends of family there waiting to greet them. So take these points into consideration.
• Whispers about someone's technique with an exercise and having a wee chuckle. That person may be new or just never been shown properly how to do that exercise but trying their hardest to work it out. Be nice, maybe give them a little advice and speak to them
• Comments about slightly heavier girls wearing crop tops. That girl may have already lost 2 stone in weight and is feeling (and rightly bloody so 👏🏼) good about herself. Not everyone needs to have an athletic body to 'look good'
• Comments about girls wearing makeup in the gym. Maybe that girl doesn't feel confident without it, could be due to bad skin etc. Or maybe this is where she feels the most confident and sexiest in her gym clothes 🤷🏼♀️
• That guy has really skinny legs. Maybe that guy has undergone knee surgery and he needs to try and strengthen up before building any size or simply he doesn't care about having skinny legs
• That persons a wierdo they don't speak much or avoid eye contact. Maybe that person has autism or Aspergers and it's took everything to get into the gym
• Talks about how much consistency is in someone's training. Maybe they are a full time parent with a full time job and have other concerns in life but are trying their best
Truth is we are all guilty of a little judgement whether it's meant in a bad way or not but let's think before we speak ✌🏻 We don't know someone's situation.
Keep trying 💪🏼

What a year! For me as a personal trainer it has taught me how much we can all do when faced with challenging times.
We all started our year in a lockdown in 2021.
January of 2021 admittedly was awful having no drive, unwell and being totally gutted to be back in a lockdown.
February I got myself out that rut and went back to doing my online classes. I couldn't see you all but I felt u were all in my livingroom with me! Then we moved to outdoor training. The motivation, the support and the results from everyone proved to me what we can all do when we put our minds to it and I have to say I actually did love it!
There's been a lot of negative to come out of the past couple of years of living with covid but think about the positive aspects u can take from it into 2022.
We were reminded the Importance of family, friends and our health. My clients 1-2-1 and online have done amazing this year and I want to thank each and every one of you for all your efforts, you have no idea what a buzz I get from you all making the changes and positive steps towards your goals.
Although I may not have been as active on social media over the past few months as I once was I am very much still as focused on helping people becoming the best versions of themselves that they can be and excited to carry that through into 2022.

Now I only have a few weeks until my own biggest life transformation begins! 🤱🏼 2021 you were different but you gave me the best present.

A little throwback photo of when I decided to try a bulk a bit to build a bit more muscle. I've always been quite lean and found it hard to gain weight and the thought of doing it really did give me the fear. But I trusted the process and loved the results. Becoming strong was my new thing!
I lost my abs for a little while but my muscles were able to grow (with finally the b***y) and when I did cut it was some of the best results I've achieved for myself.
Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone once in a while. If it's a goal that's new to you and you are not sure how to go about it speak to a personal trainer to lead you in the right direction. 🖤

Super proud to show off Miss progress photos so far!
Amy first came to me for online training. She's was really keen to get results for herself but I had noticed changes were not as coming on as much as I had first anticipated so got her in for a random 1-2-1 to see how she gets on in the gym. I think she surprised herself at what she could achieve and had been underestimating herself when it came to her training.
So, when a spot opened up for 1-2-1 training we opted for that for a change instead of the online.
I cannot express how impressed I am with how hard this girl has worked!
She's had a job change, house move, new puppy....lots of obstacles. But the end goal has not changed. She knows where she wants to be and now has the knowledge and tools on how to get her there!
Amy has become one of my strongest clients just through being so consistent and constantly determined to do better each week.
She always tracks her calories and protein well and even if she were to go off track once doesn't let that make her go off the rails.
I've loved seeing Amy now bouncing in the gym in her shorts and looking so much more confident.

𝕊𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕜𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕨𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕤𝕥 𝕡𝕣𝕖𝕘𝕟𝕒𝕟𝕥?
Absolutely!
If your body has been used to training before you fell pregnant it's perfectly fine to continue working out through your pregnancy. There are some exceptions to this though. If you have been advised by the medical experts that you shouldn't because of a health concern or you physically feel unable to then don't try to force yourself.
My first trimester the nausea was absolute hell and I definitely did not feel good training, it was a struggle but after about 9/10 weeks I slowly started getting back to it and had been told this was fine to do so. With my joint condition I actually found myself in more pain when I didn't lift weights than when I did. Everybody's body is different and will react differently so listen to yours.
However, if you are not someone who trained before falling pregnant this is not the time to learn new skills, but you should definitely try to keep fit and active. Walking is so underated so if nothing else get those trainers on and get walking.
Most midwives will tell you that you can train exactly the same as you were. This is true to a certain extent but there are some adjustments that need to be made as you get further into your pregnancy for the safety and comfort of you and your baby.
I will be sharing videos of some of those soon!
If you are like me you will find it hard not working towards a specific goal like trying to hit a new target weight or working towards a certain look. But the main thing through pregnancy is trying to maintain as much fitness and strength you can so the post pregnancy journey is made easier.
Of course you will get people who don't quite understand why you are still training and will tell you to stop lifting weights now you are pregnant but it my personal opinion it's a healthy option for you to take if you can.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Don't compare your fitness levels and body to other pregnant women at the same stage as you. Some baby bumps are big some are teeny, some women struggle to even walk some are out still able to go a run. I've found myself doing it sometimes but the main thing we need to remember is how amazing the female body is!
We are growing a tiny little human in there and they will be the biggest love of your life! The body is an amazing thing, I still can't get over what my body has managed to create everytime I feel a wee foot!

One of the things I have enjoyed throughout my own fitness journey was the process in becoming the strongest version of myself both physically and mentally.

When was the last time you done something for yourself?
It's not selfish to take time out from everyday life to do something that will make you happy.
Sometimes we can give ourselves the guilt treatment.
Find the value in what creating space in your daily schedule can do for you. Make time and invest in yourself!
I know myself when I feel happier within myself, I am happier around others and my outlook to everything is so much better.

Thank you so much to all the people who were messaging me last couple of weeks to make sure I was ok, was so appreciated! 🧡
I think since finding out I have a heart condition it's bothered me more than I was letting on to myself. Attempting to train and panicking when I felt my heart start to go a wee bit faster. Was it going to happen again or is it just the fact I am exercising?
I've always been a stubborn wee bu**er and nothing gets in my way so I was pushing the fact I was a bit worried away to the side instead of just facing up to the fact I was a wee tad worried lol! Then there was the ego side of me that always wants to be doing and training my best, after all it's basically my life 🤣
But a few days away this weekend was exactly what I needed to put things in perspective. I've always apparently had this and always worked hard in the gym so why should that stop now! At least I know I have it and I know where I need to go if I feel an episode coming 🤷🏼♀️
Another trip to the hospital (don't ask...came in contact with Britain's most dangerous plant 🤦🏼♀️😂) but the doctor there thinks the heart condition could well be linked to my HMS so we shall see what the cardiologist says!
Back to trying to be me again tomorrow in the gym! 💪🏼
Sometimes we need to let ourselves be a bit worried but we also need to know there will always be a way! 🖤
On another note.... I recently had the pleasure of modelling some clothing for and I have to say the tops and hoodies were super comfortable and I would not only wear them day to day but also to the gym as especially the crops are nice and airy! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

Did you know according to REPS only 5.5% of personal trainers hold a pre and post natal certificate?
This has always been an interest of mine...shock, miss baby lover 🤣🤰 so I have always self studied training for a pregnant woman. But I would never feel comfortable taking on a client without having the proper certificates and knowledge behind me.
I train a lot of women and it seems a shame to have them train with me and then fall pregnant and not be able to continue training with me.
During lockdown was the perfect time to study it, so I contacted the to get on board with one of their courses.
So glad I did. Thank you for all the knowledge 🙏🏼
It doesn't matter if you as a trainer have had a child yourself or self studied like myself for years (was a genuine interest of mine) every pregnancy is different and after doing the course I certainly feel more confident training my baby mamas 🤰

With life slowly getting back to some sort of normality, don't forget all the good things we realised were important that came out of being put into a lockdown.
- How important your own good health is
- Making the time to have quality time with those we love.
- How good simply getting out a walk can feel
- When it comes down to it we don't need materialistic things, enjoying the moment and making good memories is what counts
- Making time for self reflection
- That the gym was not a place we punished our bodies rather it was a place we released our daily stresses and released our wee happy hormones!
- Making new connections with new people and new places
- With more time focussing on our bodies and health rather than out every weekend at the pub we seen those results you were looking for!
- How much we are going to really appreciate getting dressed up and going out for a meal in a restaurant

So incredibly proud to show off this transformation from my online client from my Tollcross gym
The first pictures taken on the 25th of September 2020. The second pictures on the 28th of March 2021.
Kirsty has remained so dedicated to making progress and it has most certainly paid off!
She started out doing the 30 day challenge with myself and then continued with me doing online training plans until the start of March when she jumped on to do my March live classes.
The journey has had its ups and downs with day to day lockdown life, busy mum, work, Gyms open then closing but even on her days that maybe didn't go to plan she still knew it was only a bad day and knew she didn't want to give up on all her hard work.
It wasn't an overly restrictive plan, knowing these were lifestyle changes not a quick fix so Kirsty was still able to enjoy foods she liked but made sure to eat well when she could.
Kirsty kept up with all her training at home luckily had her own equipment and even opted for getting outside and running up and down steps when she had no access to a stairmaster 👏🏼
End result -
Daily movement increased
Better energy levels/mood
Fat loss
More muscle definition
Strength Increased
Body composition changed
Consistent 🔑
Balanced diet

All this was done through online coaching. I think I seen Kirsty a handful of times in the gym in passing but we still kept in regular contact and this was the result. So if you are unsure about online coaching let this be proof that it can work when you put your mind to it!

I seen a post the other day that I think we all need to remind ourselves now and again.
"If we all ate the same and exercised the same we would still all have different bodies"
Our bodies all react and work with things in different ways. So stop trying to be the person you see on Instagram or that girl who was working out next to you at the gym.
Admire their physiques by all means, get advice from them if you feel it may help you working towards your own goal. But don't try copying them expecting to look like them.
That's not to say you cannot have a complete body transformation because you can, just make sure you are doing it all for the right reasons.
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes so remember how unique you are and embrace it. Become the best version of YOU.
