What is exercise and how do YOU start to implement it into your lifestyle? 🤔
I think it’s very easy to forget what exercise is… It’s not to feel like you’ve exhausted yourself every time you exercise, it’s not purely for people who want to compete in sports. It’s not just for people to ‘’look better’’. 💪
It’s to supplement your lifestyle, enabling you to have higher energy levels 😁, better cognitive ability💭, feel stronger 💪, improve mental health 🥳, feel more confident 😎, be healthier, happier, more capable to deal with life and a host of other benefits 😲
How do you implement it into your life? 🤔
This is very personal but to give a general overview-
- Assess your current daily, weekly, and monthly activities. (Write these out) Plan out when you’re going to take time to go to the gym/exercise. See what changes need to be made to your diet (if any) to reach your desired outcome therefore adjusting your weekly shop as a start. 📔
- Think about what your goal is and whether it has a time constraint.⏰
- How important is this to you? If the goal isn’t important to you there is no way you will have the discipline to keep going when it’s tough. 🤨

Benefits of exercise NOT related to WEIGHT LOSS-
When you think about exercise what is it you think it can help with?
Weight loss?
Building muscle?
Increasing strength?
All of these are TRUE however there are some other benefits you may never have considered in addition to the ones you hear about on a regular basis such as-
Mental clarity- Stuck on a problem at work? Struggling to find an answer? Feeling overwhelmed? Go and exercise. It can be as simple as going for a walk outside this helps so much more than sitting down and pondering for hours on end.
Stress relief- If you're a busy individual with a high stress job, looking after kids and have no time for yourself... Exercise is a great way to regain some of that time for YOU and let your stress out!
Improved sleep- If you struggle with sleep exercising during the day has been shown to improve the quality and duration of your sleep which can contribute even more to these benefits listed.
Increased energy- Sounds counterintuitive right? You go workout and gain more energy from it? Exercise release endorphins which is going to raise energy levels post exercise.

What we put in place?
Tracking food to ensure a calorie deficit is achieved, increased protein, improved meal quality.
A problem we faced?
We didn’t really have too many issues during the fat loss phase itself. However one change we made at the start which may help you is lunches.
Ryan was getting Deliveroo or Just Eat deliveries almost daily to work as he didn’t have the time to meal prep in the evenings for the next day.
I recommended a couple of meal prep companies which would cost LESS than the average Deliveroo or Just Eat order.
This led to us being able to track more accurately, eat better whole foods and increase his protein intake.
The results?
15kg lost 📉
6 month time frame ⏰

This client came to me with little to no training experience. The goal we set at the start was running a half marathon and increase strength, more recently the goal has been to drop bodyfat %
We started by learning and improving basic movement patterns to ensure technique was correct. Since then, she has run a half marathon and deadlifted her bodyweight. She has achieved a 2.3% decrease in body fat in 3.5 months.
All of this was done weight training 2x per week and running 2-3x per week depending on work schedule and other activities whilst making VERY small adjustments to her diet.
It's never too late to start, don't think just because you're not 20 anymore you're not capable of achieving your fitness goals, if anything it's more important now than ever for longevity of MOVEMENT and OVERALL HEALTH.

TIP OF THE DAY: For cutting/losing weight eat more fibre and increase portion sizes with vegetables/fruit to help stay full throughout the day to prevent binge eating.
