90 SBS MSc students have been split into teams to work in partnership with businesses across Surrey to improve their digital marketing strategies. 🚀 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Last Thursday, MBA students at Surrey Business School, University of Surrey took part in a SimVenture Evolution workshop hosted by our very own Lesley Strachan as part of a module called Business Intelligence and Analytics.

Students worked in teams and competed to create business value for their virtual companies by using data within the online simulation game.

The biggest challenge? Students weren't allowed to rewind their decisions at all within SimVenture Evolution. Of course, this resulted in varied outcomes, but it provided all students with an authentic (and challenging) business experience.

Although rewinds were not allowed, students were still required to reflect on their decision-making process and also had to communicate how these decisions could be transferred into the workplace.

The day ended with presentations which students created by using a storytelling technique. These presentations were then assessed by tutors Colin Fu, Wolfgang Garn, and Lesley Strachan from our team.

Overall, it was a wonderful day of business learning and communication. Well done to all students who took part and who faced the challenges they were given head on!
