That was a tough long day today.

Walked about 4-5 hours, tough walk but nothing compared to the 4 hours after lunch.

All uphill.
Imagine the stair master for 4 hours.

And at the altitude we are at the walks are slow but extremely tough on the lungs.

This'll help you realise how tough.

πŸ”ΉοΈWeather went from 25Β° to freezing in the space of an hour.
πŸ”ΉοΈCouple of the group really struggling with altitude sickness.
πŸ”ΉοΈWalking at almost 4000m is horrible. Running would be near impossible.

I say it every day but it just keeps on getting tougher.

My client Sophie showing here how you can change the way you live and feel about yourself in just over 6 months if you really want it.

Physique changed drastically but so has she as a person. More confidence in herself and feeling fitter and stronger than she ever has and now doing things she never believed she would.
Even joining my Tough Mudder team and absolutely smashing it too.

She only signed up originally to help out her friend but absolutely loved the training and found the diet was way easier than she believed it could be and definitely now has the bug.

She has found the mental health benefits that many get from the gym and when combined with the physical and physique benefits too, it's a win win.

What a session for Keren today as she continues on her journey and as you can see she is looking incredible.

We super or tri-setted every exercise and it made it a tough one.
Then we finished with a tough little abs session.

Body weight, body fat and inches dropping as she increases in strength and fitness.

Iona completed her final 1-1 session with me today before her big wedding day next week and her preparation has gone perfectly.

Just check out her physique.

Watch the full video and see where she started when we first met and where she started her prep in January.

And this was done properly.
I never stopped any nights out as she had a lot on.
Home hen do,
Abroad holiday hen do,
Work events,
Family and social events.

But despite these events and more we had the prep set perfectly so she would be in top condition for every event and then peak at this precise moment.

And it's not just her physique, her strength and fitness is at an all time high too which is what I always promote.

No point in looking great if you don't feel it.

To me there is nothing better than seeing a client happy on holiday and confident in their bikini.

And I'm extremely proud to show this one.

Rebecca looks stunning and to me has a perfect bikini body.

She has curves and it suits her perfectly.

Rebecca is an incredible young woman. She has dealt with more in her life than most could ever imagine but has come through it stronger and put her trauma to good use by becoming a nurse and I've a lot of time for her because of who she has become.

When we first met I realised my main importance with Rebecca was to help build her confidence in herself and with that her physique would develop too and I did this with some tough training sessions designed to push her limits and make her realise she could do anything she put her mind too.

And over the years she has had a good few body transformations with me and every time as incredible as the last.

Rebecca is exactly what I try and promote through DCPT and Progression Fitness.
You might not always look your best but as long as you're happy with your physique and confident and happy in yourself then that's all you need.
And when the time comes, holidays etc you just need to step it up a gear for a short period of time and you'll quickly be back to your best.

This comes from having the knowledge in your diet, the proper training that works well for you and proper guidance.

We may not get to train every week just now due to your work etc but you still keep in touch regularly (which to me communication with your pt is vital) and still follow what you've been taught over the years.

And the message I got from her saying that although she couldn't train the way she would have liked in the past few months she still had the confidence in herself to show off her body is what I've always aimed for with her.

You've been through tough times and I've always been a shoulder to cry on when needed and you're now a great friend because of this.

About 11 or 12 years ago before I was a pt I decided I was carrying too much weight as I was around 14.7 stone and at 5.2ft that was big.

Mainly due to believing that to be a good power lifter I had to eat loads, no matter what it was I ate, size meant strength which I know now is rubbish.

So I decided to shift weight and lost almost 5 stone to around 9.7 stone and hated that too.
I tried every fad diet under the sun and took part in every cardio fitness class I could find, sometimes 3 hours training a night and although I lost weight I hated the way I looked and felt.

I ended up skinny and weak and although I was probably at my lowest bodyfat levels and leanest I've ever been I hated it.
In fact I hated it enough that I don't think there is a picture with me topless anywhere, in fact there isn't many pictures at all, if any.
People were asking if I was ill.

Low body fat, lean and fit and still wasn't happy.

SO WHAT WAS THE POINT?

There wasn't any. I did it because I thought that was society wanted.

The picture here was me on the way back up, probably around 10.7st and as you can see I still look ill and skinny with no shape or definition.

It was around this point I changed everything.
πŸ”ΉοΈI started calorie counting,
πŸ”ΉοΈI starting following proper weight training programs,
πŸ”ΉοΈI started lifting weights 3 to 4 times a week,
πŸ”ΉοΈI stopped doing as much cardio going from 6 cardio sessions a week to 1,
πŸ”ΉοΈI concentrated on my protein intake,
πŸ”ΉοΈI stopped listening to what I saw online, it just confused me and I hated the diet and life it brought,
πŸ”ΉοΈI stopped looking for quick fixes,
πŸ”ΉοΈI started concentrating on what I found worked for me, not what others thought.
πŸ”ΉοΈAnd I trained until I liked what I saw and fitted the life I wanted, not what others thought I should look like,

Now at 43 I'm fitter and stronger than I've ever been and best of all, I'm the happiest I've ever been with my physique.

I carry fat but that's ok as I know why.
πŸ”ΉοΈI have a wife and 2 kids,
πŸ”ΉοΈI'm 43,
πŸ”ΉοΈI enjoy a drink,
πŸ”ΉοΈI enjoy my weekends,
πŸ”ΉοΈI enjoy food,

I've been well impressed with this girls attitude and work rate in her first month.

Cardio doesn't always have to be boring.
You get far more from a session like this than you would from any treadmill or stair master.

It's fun, enjoyable and challenging, not boring and tedious and unimaginative.

Have fun whilst training.
Train to build muscle, not to be skinny.
Eat to be fit, strong and healthy, not skinny, knackered and undernourished.

Forget the numbers on the scales.
Train to look and feel great and most importantly, stay healthy.

This has got to be one of my proudest moments I've ever had as a pt.

To be able to show of Jodie looking this incredible at 8 months pregnant.

Jodie had incredible results with me for her wedding last year and looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day as you can see in the pictures.

She lost a lot of weight and got into incredible shape as well as becoming fitter and stronger than she has ever been.

But she was desperate for kids but hated the idea of ruining her hard work and was terrified of gaining huge amounts of weight.

For someone Jodie's size the national average weight gain is 5 stone + and that was something she definitely didn't want to happen.

So she asked me for help and I was only too happy too but she had to listen to me and not the many others that say you can't train when pregnant when in fact it's the best thing you can do.
The health benefits for you and your baby is incredible and then there is the mental health benefits too.

So she put her faith in me once again to do what was right with her from training to diet and she has been the perfect client too.
Never missing a pt session and even the three times a week 7am group sessions, no matter how sick she felt she still turned up and always felt better when she left.

Most people don't even know she is pregnant when they see her and are even more astonished when they realise she is 8 months on.

I set her a weight gain target of 2 stone gain and she is smashing that at only 1.7 stone. We still have a month to go but I know she will stay within the goal and train right up until the end.

She is proving why it is perfectly healthy to train during pregnancy and Jodie and baby are coming along just perfectly.

You've been incredible pal and we have become close over the past few years and I'm so glad we have. You are genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever known and I'm mega proud to call you my client and best of all my friend.

As you can see she was already in great shape but she was looking to increase her size, strength and fitness and with her only being 19 she is choosing the perfect time to get started.

So I've started with building her confidence in her training with her following a simple but challenging training program to help her shift a little body fat and slowly we will start to add a lot of muscle to her already incredible physique.

And she is also following a calorie and protein suited to her needs.

So well done pal.

A lot of you even 6 months ago would never have believed you could have done this.

You all had different reasons for doing this and I might be the only one that knows what it means to you so well done.

We started as a team, we ran as a team, we worked as a team and we finished as a team.

I hope you all see the benefits in being a team. We don't need to like each other but we do need to know we will help each other when needed.

That's what we should all be about at DCPT and Progression Fitness.

Personal achievements mean nothing if there's no one to share it with.

I know I can be a miserable prick at times but I do it to help all of you.
