As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, I am deeply moved by this year’s theme - ‘Inspire Inclusion.’

This theme resonates with me on a profound level. As a passionate advocate for gender equality, I firmly believe that inclusion isn’t just about ensuring everyone has a seat at the table, it’s about giving them the voice to share their unique perspectives and creating spaces where people belong.

Today, I urge you to look at how you inspire inclusion. Let’s celebrate diversity, foster respect, and create a culture where every woman, regardless of their background or identity, feels valued. After all, progress isn’t about a handful of people making large strides, it’s about all of us advancing together, one step at a time.

Let’s Inspire Inclusion this International Women’s Day, and every day beyond. Because when women thrive, we all thrive.

If you find yourself setting the same goals over and over again, it’s because you haven’t made and followed a plan to get there.

Yes there will always be setbacks, but with a plan in place, it means instead of beating yourself up, you know how to get back on track to your goal.

A plan keeps you focused even when there are distractions.

No new year, new me clichés here!

Instead of resolutions, I’m all about setting intentions and energy.

For 2024, my intentions and energy are all about “aligned action.”

It’s all about growth, progress, and positive vibes this year.

New Year New Me - No thank you.

I don’t believe in New Years Resolutions.

I do believe in having goals and things that you want to achieve, but I believe in having a plan to get there.

The thing with New Years Resolutions are people want to overhaul multiple things, they blanket multiple goals in one go; “I want to lose weight, I want to get a promotion, I want to spend more time with my children, I want to start a new hobby.”

You can’t do it all in one go, and you can’t do it without a plan.

Instead, I believe in the power of goal setting.

Set your goal, put a timeline on it, break it into smaller steps, create a plan and review it regularly.

My wish for you over the seasonal period is that you give yourself grace. You take some time to rest, to be present with loved ones, to get some time alone, to be reflective on all things - positive and negative from 2023.

The festive period can be a trigger to some people for a multitude of reasons. It’s important to be aware of your triggers and take some time to look after yourself. 

Sometimes, thinking ahead to what helps you manage overwhelming or busy periods can better help you in the moment of stress. For me, I know that getting outside for a walk, keeping my boundaries around work and not succumbing to the pressure of having a ‘perfect Christmas’ is what works for me. It allows me to be present and fully enjoying my time with my loved ones.

Let's talk about it - the elusive work-life balance that you've been chasing? No, I'm all about that blend, and I have been for a long time.

It's all about understanding that our personal and professional lives are constantly evolving, and sometimes one needs a little more attention than the other. And that's okay!

Instead of feeling guilty about not achieving a perfect balance, let's embrace the beauty of blending the two seamlessly.

Recognising the ever-changing needs and demands of both worlds allows us to react and adapt without the pressure of achieving an impossible equilibrium.

So, here's to embracing flexibility, setting boundaries, and being present where we need to be at any given moment.

This is a global 24hr coaching marathon to raise money for a MicroLoan Foundation that supports women in sub-Saharan Africa.

These women are entrepreneurs, they are supporting families and creating a thriving communities. A loan for one woman has a far wider and greater impact.

Holidays are revealing the secrets to our wellbeing!

They are showing us the things we love, the things that fill our cup and make us feel good.

So we need to listen, we need to take notice of what is making us feel good or feel rested. How can we replicate this at home? Instead of coming back and falling back into routine, start putting a bit of the feel good elements from holiday into your daily life, and reap the benefits on your mental and physical wellbeing.

Your time off is for you, and however you are choosing to spend it. Your work will still be there when you return.

If you have any time off over the summer, be sure to be kind to yourself and actually allow yourself to fully step out of your work mindset and enjoy your time off, and reap the full benefits of it.

Come back renewed, energised and with a cup that overflows.

Your brain is not a dimmer switch, at least not one designed to be various levels of ‘on’ constantly.

Your brain needs to be fully turned off to be able to be turned back on at its brightest. Without that time off, it just goes back and forth, until it starts flickering and heading for burnout, at which point, you are forced to switch off, and it becomes an uphill battle to get your light on again.
