My name is Gabor Zsiga, and I am a Level 3 Personal Trainer &Life Coach, Boxercise Instructor, Level 2 Judo Coach and Level 1 Football Coach. I began practising Judo when I was nine years old since it has always been a sport that I love very much. During my Judo career, I had the privilege to train with Olympic and World champions. They were a great asset to my early development and training with these fantastic athletes has inspired me greatly. Receiving medals from numerous competitions, Judo gave me the inspiration to start exercising in the gym from when I was 14 years old. After I finished competing in Judo I started to practice Boxing and Krav Maga and I had the privilege to learn from world class coaches and instructors.
I know what you are thinking, you probably imagine a super lean guy who was always fit and healthy from a young age. A person that is thin and attractive who always looks good. Maybe you are here because you want to lose weight and improve your body image. You are reading this and thinking, how can this guy help me? He does not understand what it is like to be out of shape!The first rule is never to assume anything. We never know what people have gone through. As a kid, before I took up Judo, I was so obese that I could hardly even run. I knew that I had to change, so I started training. I got physically strong, but I always had constraints with my weight. Yes, I put on muscle. However, I was never lean. I had my fair share of body-shaming though it did not stop me from believing in myself and training very hard to change my life for the better. I am sure you have already heard about Yo-yo dieting, also called weight cycling. If not, it is a pattern of losing weight and then regaining it. Story of my life!
I have had my struggles in my personal life. Lots of negative things happened where this is what I thought back then. Now! I have learnt that sometimes bad things happen to us, so we can get to that stage where we need to be for the good thing to happen. Accepting ourselves and understanding who we are will ultimately lead to self-belief then we can do anything that is where we need to put our minds on. It seemed that I had so much bad luck. I was dismissed from my job unfairly after six years and just then went through a painful divorce. I needed a new life and a new career that would allow me to spend quality time with my kids.The basic five pillars of life-career, money, love, purpose,and enthusiasm- were all brought down.
It was a dark time. I was overweight and depressed with doubts and fear about the state of my life and the direction I was heading in. I could easily slip into negativity, just like many of us can. I had found myself indulging in comfort eating, laziness, and other bad habits. I had let myself go! These were challenging times, both mentally and physically. I could have still been there in that dark place but I somehow managed to pull myself out of this awful swamp. As I am a “cup ish half full” person I made my decision to change my life. Only I had the key to my own destiny, and only I could make the adjustments that needed in my life. I picked myself up and started the most amazing journey of my life where I have been learning a lot about myself, about the human body and mind, nutrition and exercises. In 11 months, I’ve managed to lose 22.5 Kg or 50 pounds and turn my life by 180 degrees. Now, I find joy in using my own experience and knowledge to help people who face the obstacles of life. I know exactly how you feel.I don’t have to try to put myself in your shoes. I have walked in your shoes, and I can now help you turn your life around, too.
