Harrogate Hawks Rugby League
Harrogate Hawks Rugby League Club - Community rugby league club based in Harrogate.
Harrogate Hawks are delighted to announce we have agreed a deal with Knaresborough RUFC to play from their ground Hay-A-Park.
This will allow the hawks to continue playing rugby league and still be the only rugby league club based in Harrogate.
This will be a fruitful spell for both clubs and lead us through the next few years.
Thanks must be given to both Laura Symmonds and Matthew Ions for their dedication to getting this partnership agreed, further thanks must go to the committee at Knaresborough and the management team at Harrogate as this was a time of uncertainty for the hawks.
We are all extremely pleased that we have secured a place to play from and to allow the 70+ players we have to continue this amazing journey with us is something we are so grateful for.
Director of rugby at Knaresborough RUFC Matthew Ions said: This is extremely exciting news for both clubs, which we at Knaresborough RUFC are looking forward too a great partnership to bring even more rugby to Hay-A-Park.
Founder of Harrogate hawks Laura Symmonds says: This past season we have built a really strong foundation with the playing squad, coaching team and off field team, so to partner up with Knaresborough Rufc to continue rugby league in the harrogate district is really exciting for both clubs. We look forward to working and building with Knaresborough going forward.
On behalf of the management team at Harrogate we cannot wait to bring success to the club next season and hopefully bring home some silverware.
A few from our end of season do. Well done to all the winners and all the lads that have pulled on a shirt this season. A little uncertainty going forward but we hope we can find somewhere to play and keep this great group of lads together
Our season may of ended but our coach Jed Gowland carries on his work with Huddersfield, no rest for the wicked obviously 🏉
Congratulations to all the girls
🏉🤝 Congratulations to our new and returning players on our U15’s/U16’s Girls Scholarship Programme. The launch was held last night which included a field session. This programme is in conjunction with the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and is part of the Huddersfield Giants Women’s pathway structure which includes our U19’s and Super League squad👏
So as our season has drawn to a close we thought let’s have a look back on some of our moments from the last couple of seasons. Unfortunately we have had the news that we dreaded, having come so far as a team but, we can no longer play out of the Jim Saynor Ground, we want to take the opportunity to thank Harrogate Pythons RUFC for allowing us to build rugby league in Harrogate. We have gone from having 8 players to now having 75 lads, we are frantically looking for a new home so we can continue the work on and off the field & keep all these lads playing rugby league. We will keep you updated on this but for now thank you to every single person & business that has got behind us these past few years it’s appreciated by each and every one of us.
Some of our boys changed codes to help out Harrogate Pythons RUFC 2s on Saturday, well done lads
Great game tonight. Thank you for Ossett Trinity Rugby Club for travelling over on a Friday night
We came away with a 42-4 win
We would just like to take the opportunity to thank all our sponsors this season
We have had a good season of building, we now have 77 players, new kit, off field kit, new coach and a great off field team
None of this would be possible without the support from businesses that get behind our boys and the club for that we are extremely grateful
