Such a very busy Morning
We had such a lovely time on Wednesday, When our special friends came to visit and join us for our Wednesday morning Activity.
Everyone was so busy decorating biscuits for our mid Morning break.
Then we shared our decorated biscuits with all our other special friends, ( residents as known by the little ones).
Every week we have our special friends visit and so much enjoyment is had by all, joining in with activities and chatting to each other,
🤔 . I am not sure who natters the most children or our residents, both have so much to talk about .
The interaction between both residents and children is amazing you would never think there was any age difference.
Such special friendships have been built up over the months, with both the residents and the children and of course not forgetting their wonderful teachers Catherine and Jo, who bring them every week. 💝
Our little wonder returns
It's been a couple of weeks since Barney's last visit The residents were so pleased to see him back,
On his visit this week,Dot said Barney needed a perm 😊
As she thought the front of his hair was a little loose looking.🫣. We did say we would mention this to Beth our Residential hairdresser.......
Jo Barney's owner, also really enjoys talking to the residents about their dogs they had before Belmont, and the stories how they become to have their dog/s and how they behaved, all very good we have to say.
Barney's visits are so full of fun, and therapy, and so entertaining when he does his little tricks and dance, He never fails to make the residents smile. 💙
Thank you Jo and Barney x
"Dance, Sing and Cherish every moment"
Another amazing afternoon, singing and dancing,
We would like to say a Big Thank You to Lois Bobbins,
Who helped make our afternoon such a wonderful time, and so many memories made, not only for our residents but their loved ones too,
The residents had a wonderful time singing and dancing so much so that we had some very tired residents by the end of the afternoon.
Making D Day tables mats and reminiscing,
What a wonderful way to spend your Wednesday Morning.
We sat making personalized D Day table mats, reminiscing about D Day, and what we remembered of the day,
The stories some of our residents told us were sad, some were funny, and others were faint memories but never forgotten.
They will always be in our hearts. 💙💝
And they say a dog is a man's Best Friend 🤔
This week we met our new little friend Vera,
Vera had a lovely time with all the residents and enjoyed so many treats, that we are sure she will want to come and visit us again.
They say a Dog is a Man's Best Friend, 🤔. It looks as if Vera is certainly one for the ladies,
After whispering secrets to Valerie, and of course when we asked Valerie what was said she told us it was between her and Vera🤫
Exercising whilst having fun 😊
Who said exercise wasn't fun,,
So here we all are with our dedicated keep fit residents, Maureen, Libby, Carlisle, Brenda and Brian, all carrying out our daily exercise routines,
Mmmm I think the other residents who normally join in, have taken the word Bank HOLIDAY, literally have taken the Day off 🫣
Libby is always the first one up and waiting for exercise classes to begin and cheering the other residents on,
We started our exercises about 8 months ago for around 10 minutes and now we have built up to around 40 minutes now,
And so the day began.
We sat waiting patiently and were excited for our transport to arrive, ,It was our first time visiting Staunton Country Park Farm.
On arrival we had a lovely walk around the grounds looking at all the beautiful flowers and trees, the sun was shining and the birds were singing, which made the day even more special.
After our walk we went to feed and stroke some of the animals,
Dot was our bravest resident 🏅on the day, opting to feed all the animals we could, followed closely by Veronica,
Veronica's favourite animal on the day was the goats especially the little ones who were only born 4 days prior to our visit.
After all our hard work, feeding the animals we stopped and had a cup of tea and some.lovelynjome.made cake,, before heading back home.
Our new four legged friends.
What an amazing afternoon, and a really big thank you to Em's Farm.
Yesterday we had some of the animals visit us here at Belmont, from Ems Farm. All the residents were so happy to see them, a little shocked to see the Goats and Sheep walking around their lounge🫣
Robin and Libby came up with the idea we should have one as our Belmont Castle mascot, I think that's a question for Home.Manager 🤫,
We have now invited them back for our Summer Fayre, which will be perfect as we can then have a lot more different farm animals as the summer Faire will be held in our lovely grounds.
Special times with special friends
What a better way then to spend a lovely sunny Sunday morning,
Not only was the sun shining, Tea and cakes specially made by one of our wonderful chefs (our favourite at that)😊 but we had the pleasure of welcoming Joy our newest resident (friend) who has come to stay with us here at Belmont Castle.
We had so much fun laughing, sharing life's experiences.
Enjoyable Afternoon Entertainment (singing and dancing).
We had the greatest pleasure of welcoming The Munro's, our musicians/entertainers for the afternoon.
Our residents had a wonderful time including Val, Sandra and Jenny who were up dancing and singing all afternoon with The Munro's.
Sandra's afternoon was made all the more lovely as her husband joined us and they danced together.
All our residents joined in and our Home Manager spent time singing and dancing with some of the residents.
The Munro's appeared at Belmont Castle Care Home over 10 years ago and we look forward to inviting them back on the 5th August.
We carried on enjoying the rest of the afternoon with refreshments of wine/beer and snacks.
Belmont Dementia Cafe Morning.
When you say you cannot get a word in edge ways, that was certainly our morning.
So much chatter and laughter, going on.
It is so nice to see friendships being built, and becoming close friends, between some of our lovely residents,
And what better way to make friends than over tea and cake.
#
Our Official Fund Raising Cake Sale for Alzheimer's Day.
A big thank you to our chefs and our House Keeper daughter for her time also making some beautiful cakes for our cake sale.
Our residents and visitors had a lovely afternoon chatting, and making friends,
We were so proud to support the Alzheimer's society. And look forward to the next cake sale next year.
Everyone has so much fun.
's society
Treats all round..
Another special morning, with Barney our very own Pet Therapy Dog, who brings so much pleasure to all our residents, so much so they never want him to leave.
Barney's visits help bring back so many happy memories, of our very pets, whilst sharing quality one to one time, chatting with Jo (Barneys owner) on the fun we shared.💛
Both residents and Barney have built a special bond since his visits over the previous last 8 months, so many smiles, and laughter.
St. George's fun Day.
Don't miss out on the fun.
Why not come and join us for a fun filled day, here at Belmont Castle.
We have arranged two sessions of fun and laughter, first starting at 10:00 -12:00 Or 15:00 - 17:00.
With lots of activities, and games, and of course our Belmont Raffle,
Weather permitting we will be carrying the afternoon session in the grounds of Belmonts lovely gardens,
Please spread the word, Tell your friends & family's, everyone is welcome.
Welcome to Belmonts Wake and shake Morning exercise time.
Well done to all our residents who joined in with our daily wake and shake time,
We aren't sure where all the team members were hiding today, maybe they cannot keep up with us now.
The residents are enjoying Shake and Wake so much now, that they have started taking their own exercise session, and choosing their own songs to exercise too.
At the end of our Wake and shake time, everyday a resident/ residents will choose their favourite exercises of the morning and lead the residents through their choice exercise
We are so proud of you all. .🌟
Everyone loves Easter.
We aren't sure if it was the Easter party or their Easter Eggs, the residents enjoyed most.
We hope you enjoy seeing some of the hats and Bonnets made for Easter and especially for our Party on Easter Sunday, we all had so much fun, singing and dancing,
We would like to also thank all the family and friends who came along and joined us with singing and dancing throughout our special day,
It's looking a lot like Easter.☺️
We had a brilliant time, together making Easter bonnets and Easter Eggs for our Easter tree
Some of the ideas were amazing, and so much time and effort went into them, as we are sure you will agree by looking at the pictures.
Joyce wasn't quite sure just how she wanted her Bonnet to be so made two, One for Easter Sunday and one for Easter Monday.
When Barney came to visit.
Barney ( our very own Pet Therapy Dog, and his Proud owner Jo) has been visiting us, now for a little over 6 months,
And every visit is like the first visit, when we first met our new little friend, except now Barney strolls in and makes himself at home amongst the residents.
Every visit is as special as the previous one, the residents all enjoy his visits.
When Croquet becomes bowling.
When you.look.away and the game changes 🤫
We started our Thursday afternoon of Croquet, with our lovely resident Jenny starting off by scoring 3 hoops in one.
Shortly after the game started two of our mischievous ladies, Janet and Thelma soon realized they could score higher by bowling, so hence the game became two in one.
Nose Day fun.
When you just don't want the day to end.
We all had the most fantastic day, from the beginning to the end of the day,
And the day was made even more special by our new lifestyles assistant Annika joining us last week, and oir Entertainer Matt O'Neil.
Matt has come to entertain our residents now at Belmont on several occasions, Matt not only comes to sing, but involves all the residents in musical quizzes, until he tell the tem of for cheating 🤫.
Thank you Matt. You're a star.
The residents danced the afternoon away, Especially our dancing Queen Janet who hardly sat down once
,
A day at the Salon.
We would like to say a really big THANK YOU to our lovely hairdresser Beth.
Beth has been visiting us weekly for over 4 years now, and has got to know the residents so well
Our residents really enjoy the pampering time and chatting along with Beth.
Who says exercise cannot be fun.
Such a fun afternoon playing volleyball, and who say you mellow as we get older, 🤔. It appears not, we have so many competitive contestants, must be chocolate prizes...... 🏆
With the watchful eye of Robin being our Belmonts sport umpire, ruled out any cheating, we say 🫣
Sharing is caring.
This week we made our favourite cakes, Chocolate rice Krispies and chocolate cornflakes.Withnour special friends from Morley Growing places Nursery at Crookhorn.
The residents and children have built up such a special friendship, and the interaction between the little ones and residents is amazing to watch and listen to.
Each week the children visit and we share the morning activities, whether it be arts and crafts, Garden (when weather permits) Singing and dancing, baking, reading together and so so much more.
The children sit and talk to all the residents, and share their stories.
Let the challenge begin.
Wow what a challenging afternoon,
Everyone was on top form, cheering each other on, we had our very own cheer leaders.
Brian was trying so hard to get the highest score, with the watchful eye of Carlisle keeping a close eye that no cheating was going on,
Although we do have to say Gwen did try and cheat, so funny,☺️ Gwen was moving the bean bags and hoops with her feet, who would think it.
At the end of the afternoon every one had fun and enjoyed themselves.
Welcome to Belmont Castle exercise to music.
Good Morning.
Yesterday we had a fantastic exercise to.music group,
So much fun and laughter, I think there was more fun and laughter then work out🤫
Libby certainly worked hard yesterday.
Each day two of our lovely residents get to pick two of their favourite exercises, and take the class for these two exercises, Graham is our strict instructor, he is so serious, but makes us all laugh.
Who would think exercising could be so much, We certainly do.
Time for sharing.
This week, with our friends from Growing places Nursery, we decorated small ring donuts, to celebrate Chinese New year.
We all had a.lovely morning, enjoying a nice cup of tea and of course the decorated donuts, spending time building that special friendship with all the residents,
The interaction between the children and residents is amazing, to step back and listen to them chatting, and enjoying this special time together, building friendships, and making so so many happy memories
A lovely afternoon walk.
We had a lovely walk on Sunday after around the grounds of Belmont,
Looking at all the flowers coming out, The birds were singing and of course we stopped at our very own wishing well and all made a wish.
Brenda, and Mary weren't going to tell anyone their wishes 🤫 and rightly so,
A Lovely Sunday afternoon baking.
We had a lovely Sunday after making Jam and.Lemon Curd Tarts.
Brenda was really pleased with herself, as she said she hadn't made Jam Tarts or lemon Curd Tarts before.
On the other hand Graham our new Jamie Oliver, made cakes all the time at home, and was showing the ladies how it was done. 🫣
