So happy with the finish on this bathroom working with the brass finishes and the glossy tiles add a bit of luxury and the walnut gives the room that spa feel! The bathroom also features an electric fixtures and What do you think?
Happy to see the final result here of a kitchen and whole living space I designed with some great clients last year. They are delighted with the space that now works for their family life. We flipped their previous layout around to create a better flow in and around the house and worked with Howdens to create the kitchen in this picture!
Back to it! Having started working with for the foreseeable future I am going to appreciate this office space even more! Colour: Studio green by
A sneak peek at the office… believe it or not this was actually my temporary kitchen for 2 years with no doors on the cupboards and just a mist coat of paint on the walls. I can’t tell you how much joy I felt when I could finally turn it into a lovely office. More pics to come! This was a great transformation of the furniture in here from a marketplace bargain find of some old Neville Johnson fitted office furniture that just needed a bit of love and a lot of Vision! Thanks to .davis87 for collecting it and trusting me that I could make it something special! Now for some blinds and some pretty stationery and we’re done!
This was a definite functional move but so happy we finally have somewhere to store the kids craft bits instead of them being scattered everywhere! However, now we have to keep it that way! Wish me luck…
Some other new finished bits of the house that i’m delighted with! When we moved in, this little alcove was a fish tank and not a nice one! Now we have a beautiful fitted display bookcase for my gorgeous Brittania encyclopaedias! The original archway is now enhanced by the stunning original leaded glass door that separates one part of the downstairs from the rest. What do you think?
Been busy painting the stairway and upstairs hall at home and getting these lovely prints up from - still got to get the radiators off though!
Happy Saturday! Just another shot of the under stairs unit and some of the painting I’ve been doing. When I started painting the hall, stairs and landing I didn’t realise what a job it would be. However, I’m so pleased with it and this shot also features my next project. My husband bought me an arts and crafts style chair for Christmas which is hiding under a green blanket right now. Watch this space
Pretty shelves! I enjoyed getting to style these finally as they’ve been a bit of a dumping ground for a while. About two or three years ago a lovely lady gave me all these Brittanica encyclopaedias and i have had them hiding away until i had the shelves to display them. ❤️❤️❤️
So honoured to have been able to host in our house as a location shoot for the filming for Eurovision. Little did we know it would be the last thing he filmed. A beautiful tribute to him and glad we could be part of it. Thanks
Swipe to see Before!
So pleased with how this turned out! I’ve been trying to get this finished since I decided to rip the understairs cupboard out in October but well… priorities right? Anyway! Here it is complete and I’m delighted. I love having the vision and seeing it finally come together. I also found a home for the lovely cabinet k***s I bought off marketplace over a year ago! #
Who doesn’t love a beautiful book? I’ve been desperately wanting this unit finished to display my books. Our Newly painted understairs unit is perfect for this! Thanks for the beautiful paint colour and for building the bulk of the unit for us!! More to come once we finish the final bit! understairs
My usual design style is more traditional but I loved having the freedom to experiment with something different using black and gold and creating a bold interior for this client. The trend for bold marbled veining is big and these guys went for it! The kitchen was by and the granite worktops fitted by certainly make this kitchen sing!
Just another photo of this awesome black slat panelling to frame the TV and awkward pillar in the kitchen living. By making it a feature it becomes a part of the space rather than an irritating eyesore!
Love a classic brass and bold green combination. By adding in a Calacatta gold vein quartz in it makes sure the worktops keep the warmer tones continuing throughout.
Who loves cocktails? 🥂🍹🍸
Swipe to see the hidden bespoke built bar unit designed to fit existing wine fridges from the client’s old kitchen, antique bronze mirror and bespoke lighting and pocket doors. What a treat! did an incredible job making the vision a reality for
What a view. One large and a half sink with , a 24k gold fusion tap and matching 24k gold kitchen tap.
Happy International Women’s Day!
I celebrated with my friend Tatijana by jumping in the freezing cold sea which is now an International Women’s Day tradition for us!
Thanks for the mention Collins Bespoke, it’s been a pleasure working with you too and look forward to more collaborations this year!
The face behind DD Interiors!
I’ve hidden for long enough but just thought it was time to add a little bit about me! I’m a mum of two wonderful children and started my interiors business during lockdown as something I had always had an interest in but had never taken any further.
My background is actually in education having taught secondary English for 7 years then left the job to pursue a different life path. However, since meeting my other half 8 1/2 years ago we’ve been non stop renovating and learning more about design and interiors since.
We took on a huge project 3 1/2 years ago of a renovation of an old 1930s house built in arts and crafts style which sparked my passion for William Morris and the beauty of the arts and crafts style. I didn’t want to stop there so since have taken on further projects along the way designing in different styles and for a variety of clients and specifications.
I now find myself in the position of being able to take some beautiful photos of these projects and sharing them with you! I hope you enjoy the content! ❤️❤️❤️
And just because…
My love for prints continues! I intend to fill every smaller room in the house with bold prints from the William Morris collection so watch this space for the next few incoming! Found this one through 😍 to compliment colour Tracery II
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…
To me, this Bird and Pomegranate print makes me smile every time I see it!
This room was one of my vision boards from earlier in the year.
Here it is in the flesh. Ivy absolutely loves her new room so I’m told and I loved using to create this gorgeous space.
Thanks for trusting me with your beautiful home and can’t wait to show what we have been working on downstairs!
Recipe books galore!
When I was designing the kitchen; I had time to consider what I rally needed space for and where I wanted it. One thing I realised was that I have an abundance of recipe books that were quite often hidden away in another room rather than being where I needed them. Therefore, we decided to use the ends of the large butcher’s block area as bookcases. One side is practical, the other prettier for display items!
What are the essentials in your kitchen?
Thank you for the incredible shots of our kitchen this week for
It shows off the stunning tap, tap and the sink beautifully 😍😍😍
I have fallen in love with the kitchen all over again! 😍😍😍
I spent a while considering this area and how to make a beautiful but practical space for family life. By creating this inbuilt TV bifold unit in the nook that was once a window we managed to do it! It took a lot of convincing with my husband that the TV above the fireplace was not the right look and that this would be much better. Thankfully he agreed with me! 😂🙈 using paint colours throughout the room ❤️
My work spot…
Sometimes I like to just sit here with the pantry doors open so I can admire my Willow print wallpaper while I work at the breakfast bar. Our home office is far from being finished so I work in the kitchen, but there’s worse places to work from I guess!
Ever since we bought this house, I knew I had to get this print into our home despite my husband wanting none of it. Thankfully he trusted me and I got to put it in my pantry of dreams 😍
Do you have a favourite spot to sit in your house? I’d love you to share yours with me!
When the weather outside is dreary, I love sitting back and taking in this view. Happy weekend everyone!
Happy Friday!!! Is anyone else incapable of being a plant mum?
Well, the weather seems like it is not improving, but that doesn’t mean your days have to be dreary. I’ve got a trip to IKEA today and am certain I’ll be bringing home more of their artificial plants like this one today. For me, it is the way I can keep that fresh green feel to my rooms without worrying that I have plants dying everywhere!
