Hi guys, really sorry but the guys at the rugby club have just phoned to say they're cancelling all lets tonight as the pitch is frozen π im really sorry it's such late notice ππ
Mike
Excellent work last night everyone πππ
Keepers of the week awards went to Aaron and Jakub, well done lads ππππ
Aaron has quickly become a real leader in our younger group and sets a good example of how to work at training! His all round game is strong and he has extremely quick feet which allows him to be really efficient in his movements around the goal and get into position to make saves and influence where the attacker puts the ball. Well done pal, keep it going though πππ
Jakub is an excellent keeper who is always looking to work hard every week at training. Heβs another 1 of my lads whoβs now nearly bigger than me π and heβs also got fantastic athleticism for a keeper. Our older group all give everything they have in effort each week and Jakub is a great example of that π exceptional performance last week pal, keep it going!!
Good work last week guys π
Keepers of the week awards went to Liam and Ciaran ππππ
Said it all before about Liam and his unbelievable personality and mindset but we now focus on his continued growth and improvement as a keeper. Itβs fantastic to see his confidence growing all the time and he is now at the stage where he is setting really high standards every week at training ππ 1 of his saves last week really stood out though as he stood up strong and even managed to hold a full strength punch from Aaron during the game at the end! Everyone who saw it was amazed at how good it was πππ well done pal!
Ciaran is not only nearly bigger than me now he also has superb movement around the goal and he works at the pace I want to see from everyone π. He is setting great standards at training and shows brilliant enthusiasm to work hard and get the most out of each session! ππ well done pal!!
Good work last night guys π keepers of the week awards went to George and Alastair ππ
George has worked really hard with us and is always willing to listen to what heβs being told. Heβs shown a great attitude towards improving his game and is a great example to everyone else π well done pal π
Alastair has come a long way with us and I am constantly on at him to keep working hard because I believe he has the ability to get even better! He has to believe in himself though π Iβve seen him perform at a really high level so heβs already proved it. Keep pushing forward pal ππ
As promised Theodoreβs pic from getting his award last week ππ
Turned out a lovely evening for training last night in the end π 2 very good sessions! Loving seeing the progress in both groups with their distribution, those side volleys are coming along really well π we will all be like Ederson soon ππ
Keepers of the week awards went to Brodie and James πππ
Brodie is a brilliant lad who has done fantastically well with us so far. He always listens to what heβs told and always attempts to learn and improve. He is easily handling all the dills and has fitted in really well. He also has a loveless strike on him which is brilliant for a keeper π well done pal!
James is also continuing to improve all the time and is a great character to work with π even though he could do with keeping his mouth s**t at times ππ in truth though most keepers are big characters and he definitely has a good strong mindset which is vital as you progress in your football journey π
Training on as normal troops π bit damp but nothing too bad π§οΈπ
Who have I saved from getting a telling off from their Nairn County coach?? π left behind after training on Friday. Iβll take it this week π
Well done everyone on Friday ππ 2 really good sessions ππ
Keepers of the week awards went to Theo and Riley!
Never got a pic of Theo but will get it next week π he has only recently joined us but has picked things up really quickly! I can see he has great athleticism already and makes some unbelievable saves, he also strikes a great ball π well done pal!
Riley is a superb keeper and sets really high standards every week π he is always looking to work hard and improve and is an absolute pleasure to coach π well done pal! Never got a pic of Riley either so itβs an old 1 π
Well done on Friday night everyone, excellently work!! πππ
Been a bit slow with the updates recently but itβs important to still recognise the guys that have been doing really well. Last few weekβs awards winners were Elliot, Aden B, Jay, Aidan C, Nico, Jayden ππππππ
All great lads who are doing great with us! π
Well done everyone on Friday night, very difficult conditions for goalies in that wind!
Keepers of the week awards went to Cammy and Kyle well done lads πππ
Cammy has really worked hard on his game over his time with us and is performing really well on a consistent basis at training π he has great footwork and agility which are excellent traits for a goalie! Well done pal keep it up ππ
Kyle is 1 of our more experienced goalies now and is a leader and great example to the rest of the guys! He is not only a very accomplished keeper but a great lad aswell π itβs a pleasure to coach guys like Kyle ππ well done pal!
Training on as normal tonight guys π
Great to see my Clach FC goalies all doing well at the weekend πππ James, Jay, and Nico well done lads keep it going πππ
Sorry guys but training is off tonight.
Bit of a sad 1 on Friday night for our academy as we all said bye to a couple of great lads ππ jamie and dara are moving on and I would like to wish them both well in whatever they go on to do in football and in life. 2 brilliant lads ππ
Jamie has been with me for nearly 10 years now and I can honestly say Iβve never once had to have a go at him for misbehaving π we had a chat last night about our years together and I remember him as a wee lad who just loved being a goalie and working hard π nothings changed in all those years apart from now heβs a big lad ππ
Dara has also moved up through our classes and become a strong keeper! I remember when I moved him and a few of the other lads up I was a bit worried about how they would cope, but Dara made me so proud withe way he handled it ππ I was so happy with the way he embraced the challenge and pushed himself on πͺ
Come back and see us anytime lads ππ
Great work on Friday everyone ππ older group, excellent response to last weekβs poor show π
Keepers of the week awards went to Aaron and Cailen ππ
Aaron has done superbly well since he joined us π Iβm sure heβs absolutely sick of listening to my voice because Iβve been his u12 shinty coach for 2 years plus goalie coach every Friday π but I think he has great potential as a keeper. He has quickly become a guy we rely on to set a good example and has superb natural athleticism π keep it going pal ππ
Said it all about Cailen already many times, but this week I want to focus on his attitude towards training. Last weekβs session was very poor overall, I could see it going that way early on and tried to address it but it didnβt work. This poor standard spreads though a training session every time! Guaranteed most guys will drop their standards but Cailen was the exception to that rule last week ππ a brilliant example of single mindedness to block everything else out and work hard ππ
Been running the academy for about 11 years now, thought Iβd seen and dealt with pretty much everything that gets thrown at a coach ππ however Iβve never had to do a session in my socks ππ
Big Ross decided to come down from Ullapool with 2 left boots and his trainers werenβt exactly ideal for football training so he had to use my boots ππ
1 good session last night, well done younger group π the less said about the 2nd session the better π needs to be better next week though!
Keepers of the week awards went to liam and Aden ππππ
Liam is continuing to defy the limits everyone else seems to think he has π he doesnβt see any limitations he just keeps smashing through any issues he might encounter πͺ heβs got to the stage now where heβs making fantastic saves every week in training. And this includes all types of saves! Good technical work during the different drills and also in game reaction saves where you have to be brave π he has an advantage over everyone else with these though because heβs harder than Chuck Norris and doesnβt seem to register pain ππ so a football smashing off him doesnβt really pose any issues!!! Well done pal! ππ
Aden works tremendously well every week, technically very good and tidy in everything he does. He also strikes a lovely ball so is able to step in and serve properly for others ππ he has been assisting myself and Liam with the younger class this yer and has been a great help! He has been training with me for a long time now and itβs very enjoyable for myself as a coach to watch him in training performing at such a good level and being an example to others ππ well done Aden π
Well done to another of our lads Alfie who did great this weekend for Balloan in a win v Brora ππ
Great seeing so many of our guys out there enjoying their football this weekend π
Well done to our lad Olly on Saturday with Clach 2013βs down at Lossie π
Well done to 2 of our lads Ali and James ππ Clach u14βs team doing well against Nairn today ππ
Lovely evening for training last night βοΈ well done everyone ππ
Keepers of the week awards went to Brodie and Ross ππ
Brodie is a great lad to coach because he listens and is really keen to do well. Itβs not an easy transition for guys that join us as when they are being asked to join in with guys that have been with us for years and get used to all the different drills and techniques. Itβs a pretty steep learning curve actually! However if youβre patient and have the right attitude things will start to click π Brodie is a great example of this, heβs now seeing himself improving and getting more confident π well done pal keep going! πͺ
Ross has had me in his ear getting on at him constantly for a while now π because I know for a fact he has more to give and even if he doesnβt realise it he is better than he thinks! He is a big strong lad with excellent athleticism but he needed to push himself a wee bit more. He has definitely done that and has stepped up a couple of levels because he is now really applying himself properly π still more to come though pal!! Well done ππ
Well done Kyle ππππ
Well done last week in the π§οΈ everyone ππ keepers of the week awards went to Aaron and Alastair ππ
Aaron is doing great with us and is a leader in his group now. He is a very capable keeper and is constantly trying to work hard to improve his game. I mentioned to him that he needed to tidy up his footwork when he rejoined us. This is a common thing we find in keepers when they have had to spend time away from the academy to train with their clubs unfortunately. However he has taken that on board and got back to looking a lot sharper again ππ well done pal!
Alastair is coping really well in the older group because he has gone in with the right attitude π rather than be overawed by some of the keepers heβs working with he has used it to learn and push himself further! Iβm delighted with his progress and he fully deserves the recognition ππ well done pal!
Hi Guys training is still on tonight but obviously the weather isn't great. If anyone prefers to miss tonight it's no problem at all though. Also those that have to travel a fair bit to get to training just to let you guy's know what happening currently as I'm in Inverness early, it's absolutely lashing rain again just now. That's not to say it won't clear up and as long as it's safe I'll make sure we get some training done. Obviously it up to you guys though if you have a bit of a distance to travel.
