One of our toughest wee rooms to date, in a place called Fishertown in Nairn. Which we will now refer to as the Nairn Drakies 😅😂

Massive turnaround getting this done in 5 days excluding the decorating to the ceiling. All works by James and myself. A big transformation that made the room feel bigger with a more practical layout. The client and I sat a loosely designed this one together, and when they went to choose their items in Wolseley they decided to make the change to brass. Remarkably this is actually our first brass project 😧 but I really love it and think it looks great.

Tiles from CTD, ware from Wolseley. 4 new downlights installed as well as renewed shower wiring, and ceiling repaired and decorated.

James and I are now off until Tuesday 30th, I am over in South Uist and James is away to Belladrum 😎
Any messages or emails received will be responded to on Tuesday.

Still a few spaces 31st and 1st for viewings. 🚿

Another crazy week for James and I and ANOTHER Drakies bathroom, we must have both been bad in a past life or something 😅

An upgrade for an elderly client who is struggling with some health issues now and was beginning to struggle with the bath. We managed to get the shower waste below ground which allowed the tray to be lower down/easier access. Also fitted wall hung ware slightly higher than standard for comfort and easier use, as well as Mira grab rails and a shower seat. This room is now a lot more practical for the client, as well as getting a fresh modern upgrade.

Glad to see Friday, been another non stop for week for James and myself 😵‍💫

This entire bathroom - floor, ceiling, walls and ware were all supplied by the Wolseley showroom in Inverness.

I still have space the 31st and 1st for some viewings if anyone is wanting any projects looked at.

A small en-suite update in Holm. All works carried out by ourselves. Many thanks to my partner Molly who jumped in to help with what has been an absolutely jam packed and crazy few weeks. It would seem she got the memo about work uniform 🤫 and she’s now a pro tile cutter 🙋🏼‍♀️

Tiles from CTD, all ware and wet wall from Wolseley.

My next pricing pricing days are;

Wednesday 31st July
Thursday 1st August

For anyone looking for quotations or estimates.

Last weeks upgrade and slight layout change to a small en-suite in Nairn. New BeModern range on this one which now offers a drawer unit under the basin.

Full wall, floor and ceiling coverings. Electrical works included a dual fuel towel rail, shaver socket, LED shaving mirror, new fan and lights.

Something a bit different for me for a week and a half, tiling and fitting out two bathrooms in a new build in Dunnet. The builder had done all the first fix and prep, I then spent a week tiling and a few days fitting out. The builder supplied all their own kit and tiles. Looks smart now it’s almost all finished 🙂

A big upgrade to a very small bathroom in Balloch. Works carried out by James and myself over the last 2.5 days, which is a very quick turnaround! Client no longer wanted the bath so we changed it to a low level walk in shower which is more suitable for them. All materials from Wolseley.

We are now very unexpectedly back to operating as a two man team. Whilst I am confident we will be able to remain on schedule for June, July and August I would appreciate some patience and understanding at this time with regards to quotations, replies to queries and scheduling of any minor works or snagging works. I will be doing my best to keep on top of all admin related works at evenings and weekends, but being back to one team and me being on the tools round the clock for the foreseeable now means this side of things won’t be as fluent as I’d hope for.

As I’ve said above, anyone who is booked in I am confident we will be able to steady/level things out and we will hopefully be able to keep things flowing as planned. This means as it stands will not effect anyone’s bookings/dates.

I still intend to be out next week on the 10th, 11th and 12th for the viewings/quotes that are booked in.

TWO Drakies bathrooms back to back aren’t the boys lucky 🤓 this was James and Rhys’ job last week which they completed whilst I was working away in Dunnet. As I say they’re working their way through the scheme 👀

Full wet wall, floor and ceiling. Units upgraded, bigger bath fitted. Clients opted to keep their original radiator and the electric power shower.

Out 10th, 11th and 12th of June if any folks are needing me to pop by.

Another dreaded Drakies bathroom down, the lads are working their way through the scheme 😅

Some units added for storage, wet wall in the area and polished porcelain outwith the shower area. All works carried out by the three of us.

Client stripped this himself, but the bathroom was an original lilac suite 😅 one picture of how the room looked for us on Monday morning.

It has come to my attention that the websites e-mail address isn’t working, I have had a few queries from folks wondering why they’ve not had a reply to e-mails and after trialling some sample e-mails through the website last night it appears none of them are coming through. This could date back as far as the 10th May. If you have tried to contact us in this time via the website then your e-mail hasn’t been received, and can’t be retrieved by the website creators either. The e-mail address that has failed is;“[email protected]

A bathroom completed in Dingwall a few weeks back. Bath out, shower area in, allowing the clients to actually reach and use the window! A nice, bright upgrade.

Before photos are half way through the strip out due to “Monday morning brain forgetting to take before pics” or so I’ve been told 👀

Suite, flooring and wet wall from Wolseley in Inverness.

Out pricing next Tuesday and Wednesday (7th and 8th May) if anyone is needing a quotation. I won’t be out again until mid/late June.

A big transformation on a job James and Rhys did a few weeks back. Simple but effective upgrade, adding some storage and a more suitable shower area for a younger couple. Wet room was poorly fitted (like a lot wet rooms are) and had started causing a bit of damage to walls and floor.

Full strip out, insulated all the walls, re plasterboarded the entire room. PVC ceiling with new lighting, flooring with new skirtings.

All kit from Wolseley Inverness.

We have been working away this week and just got back yesterday, so I will catch up with all enquiries Monday.

😍 Absolutely obsessed with this bathroom in Slackbuie. This is very much making the most of a Tulloch bathroom.

Massive transformation. Client supplied their own suite (all from Wolseley Inverness) and their own tiles which were all from Collinson ceramics.

We stripped and first fixed this as a trio then I went on to do the tiling and majority of the second fix myself. Lads popped by today to do some final bits.

Can’t believe how good this looks. Clients designed the room themselves, everything ties in so well.

I am out pricing 9th and 10th I’ve reduced it to two days as not as many enquiries have come in this time round (a slight relief after getting round to see 60+ at the end of February!) - so if anyone is wanting a quote or estimate beginning of April I will be out the Tuesday and Wednesday.

A nice upgrade to a bathroom in Woodgrove. Shower area in to replace the bath, and a change of units and ware to modernise the room. Clients finishing touches and decorating works tie this one all together great 🤩

All ware supplied by Wolseley, floor and wall tiles from Topps Tiles.

Photos from Emma Forbes Bathrooms's post 13/03/2024

Making the most of a Barratt bathroom! Client no longer wanted a bath and opted for a walk in shower. We shortened the furniture run which allowed for a tall towel rail, and the storage in the new furniture run is a bit more practical than the original.

Client was planning full black but we encouraged them to consider a half and half look to break up the room. Client also then opted for black features on the grey side of the room and chrome features on the black side so they didn’t get lost on the dark wet wall. It has turned out really smart.

James and Rhys installed this last week and I swung by today to add in the final storage unit and some accessories. Everything in the room was supplied by Wolseley, their drawings are attached at the end which show what the client got to see to make their final decisions on things.

We are gearing up for what looks like our busiest year yet. Because of this we will soon be looking for a joiner or plumber on a sub contract basis. I will put out an advert soon, but if anyone knows anyone who would be interested they can give me a message or call.

Photos from Emma Forbes Bathrooms's post 06/03/2024

A wee cracker in Towerhill 😍 completely unique and quirky.

Client supplied half of their own items, and we supplied the shower area.

I stripped and first fixed this one and the lads jumped onto the wet wall and second fix (flooring and decorating by client).

No before photos as like most weeks recently it’s all been a bit mental 🤯 but the en-suite had been out of action for a long time due to a leak.

I have spent the last two days catching up with everyone’s quotes and I am not far away now from completing them all 🤞🏼. Our next dates for pricing will be April 8th for the week, so in around a months time. 🗓️

A job from a few weeks back. A small WC converted into a shower room on a job in Inshes wood. Client decided it would be better to have a shower room on the ground floor of the house for easier use/accessibility going forward.

Loads of work involved, including removing the partition between the WC and cupboard, and moving it back a metre to accommodate the new shower area. This also meant the reconstruction of the cupboard, which included adding in shelves, flooring and lighting. Both the bathroom door and the cupboard door were also renewed, as well as all facings, skirtings, decorating works and electrical works.

Fully wet walled, with new vinyl click flooring and a PVC ceiling means it’s been low maintenance going forward.

Huge transformation, and a much better use of the area for our client.

I am out pricing next Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (26th, 28th, 29th Feb) for anyone who is interested in getting a quote for works this year.

Something a bit different for me this week I renovated our sunroom 😍 my hips, knees and back didn’t appreciate hauling round 1200x600 tiles 😭

Reason for post - I have two full tiles left and one with slight damage, due to them being so big it might be enough to cover a very small WC floor for someone or even a splash back or something. 2 tiles per box, box retails at £72.00, selling the 2 full and 1 with corner damage for £40.00 if anyone is wanting to take them. I haven’t unpackaged the full box, but happy for whoever takes them to unpackaged them for before sale incase they are damaged.
Tiles are still available in CTD Inverness.

Our first en-suite of 2024 🤩 James and Rhys first fixed this one whilst I pottered with the tiling and second fix.

Bathroom, floor and ceiling from Wolseley Inverness Showroom, tiles from CTD Tiles

Got a few quotes to catch up with I am aiming to get these out tomorrow or Monday for folks still waiting.

A round up of some of our favourite projects from 2023 😍

We’ve had another busy year with an especially busy run in to Christmas. James, Rhys and I are all looking forward to our well earned two week break.

We return to work Tuesday the 9th January (because let’s face it nobody likes Mondays 😅)

We stopped taking bookings for a few months there to allow a catch up, I then started taking some at the start of December so we are now into March/April for anyone looking to get their project pencilled in.

I will be pottering with a few bits over the holidays in terms of pricing/viewings and will reply to all emails messages and things I’ve missed over the last 3/4 weeks.

We hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year, and we will see you in 2024 🥳🤩

🎄🎅 🎉

A bathroom we did over a weekend and some of last week in Smithton. We also upgraded the hot water system in the time we were there to allow for a high pressure shower.

I pottered away with the tiling and second fix on this one whilst James and Rhys were at last weeks bathroom in Balloch, but we did the strip out and first fix over a weekend. Huge transformation, and an unexpected amount of damage to the floor meant a lot of additional work in getting the caber floor and all the layers below it repaired.

Suite from Wolseley Inverness Showroom, basin unit, towel radiator and mirror bought online. Black tiles from CTD Tiles, grey tiles from Topps Tiles.
All joinery, plumbing and tiling done by ourselves.

I absolutely love this one 😍

James and Rhys absolutely smashed it this week with a big transformation to this en-suite in Balloch. Good to see the CAD drawings beside the after photos. This is one of two bathrooms we completed this week.

Majority of the materials from Wolseley Inverness Showroom, all works completed by James and Rhys. Clients bought the mirror cabinet and also supplied the bidet toilet.

Been a crazy few weeks and we have been working weekends, I am going to take time in the two week break to catch up with messages, requests and quotes.

1 week to go 🎄

A big project for us in Redwood Avenue completed yesterday, where we had renovated the master bathroom, converted a “Jack and Jill” into an en-suite and renovated the downstairs WC. We also installed a new shower area in the master en-suite.

First is the master bathroom, not much layout change but the removal of the wide semi partition and addition of modern lighting has made the room feel so much bigger. Free standing bath also makes the room feel a lot less “boxy”

Second is the Jack and Jill conversion - again, the removal of the “privacy partition” and blocking off one of the doors makes the room feel much bigger with more useable space.

Third is the downstairs WC, a simple redesign adding some storage which has modernised the room massively.

All plumbing, joinery and tiling works completed by James, Rhys and myself.

Clients designed all three rooms themselves, and we think all three look great. Clients coped very well with what has been massive disruption in two blocks of two weeks, and apologies to residents of Redwood Avenue which have been having to deal with our vans on the street!

I caught up with quotes last Sunday, if anyone hasn’t received theirs just pop me a message as it may have gone into junk or not sent properly.

We are full steam ahead counting down the days to Christmas, and I’ll be working every weekend now so patience with replies to messages/calls would be appreciated.

I was back to do some siliconing on this one today to tie up this project. Complete layout change for both rooms which were back to back en-suites. Original rooms has inset shower areas which felt really cramped and enclosed.

Clients knew what they wanted in terms of layout and changes and everything worked in as per their original plan. The layout change has opened up the master en-suite so much, and made en-suite 2 a much more practical room with a better layout, bigger shower area and some storage.

All trades and materials supplied, client used their own decorator. Majority of the works done by James, Rhys and myself. Works took place over 7/8 working days.

On to the next few 👉🏻 😀

Photos from Emma Forbes Bathrooms's post 14/11/2023

Some good old fashioned before and afters 👀 the original bathroom dating early 80s. A long tough week and the weather wasn’t particularly kind to us either ☔️

All trades supplied, all materials supplied. We also had the door surround/casing changed to oak and a new oak door hung (removed for varnishing, hence no photos).

All works by James, Rhys and I. I did the tiling works over a few days, we got most of the project done within 6 working days, including the oak door, electrical works, PVC ceiling and new flooring.

Chipping away at quotes in the early mornings before work in a bid to try and catch up, I will be in touch with everyone as soon as possible.

A bathroom James and Rhys did back in May. Lovely to get back today and see it all painted with homely touches added. Added some of my initial “after photos” to illustrate what a difference a splash of colour on a wall makes, and how much warmer it can make a room feel. Lads forgot to take before photos of this one sadly, as it was definitely one of the biggest transformations we’ve done.

Client chose their items and wet wall themselves and put the design/style of the room together with the help of the showroom staff in Wolseley.

Bathroom completed today in Maryburgh. Huge transformation, change in the layout makes a huge difference.

All works carried out by James and Rhys, and the tiling completed by Mackay Tiling ltd. Electrical works AF Electrical from Topps Tiles and CTD Tiles.

We are all off next week for our October break, and when we’re back we have a fairly busy period on the run up to Christmas. 🤩

The bathroom James and Rhys finished last Friday. A modernisation of the tired original bathroom.

All materials from Wolseley.

We are now into mid January for bookings, so anyone looking to have anything done next year just get in touch.

A small shower room renovation in Evanton. Loads of work behind the scenes on this one, whole room replasterboarded and whole floor replaced due to bad water damage from the old shower.
Removal of the partition helped brighten the shower area up, and getting the walls from purple back to white also made a massive difference in brightening up the room.

Plumbing works by James and Rhys, tiling works by myself.
Electrical works by AF electrical.
Decorating works by Highland Taping and Decorating.
Tiles from Topps Tiles.
Shower area from Wolseley and client supplied their own units.

A bathroom James and Rhys did in summer and they recently got back to do the towel rail and accessories after decoration was completed.

Just the plumbing and wet wall for the lads on this one, client used their own electrician, painter and floor fitter.

Client designed the room themselves and supplied a good bit of the kit too, including the wet wall.

Really bright modern renovation, I love the ceiling being the same colour as the walls, think it looks so effective 😍

Photos from Emma Forbes Bathrooms's post 15/09/2023

A sizeable project we did in August. Lads were back today to fit the towel rail and a few other bits.

Massive strip out, nothing harder on a strip out than a tiled floor that has been laid correctly first time round 😪. Despite this we still managed to get the majority turned round in 5 (long!) days. I also upgraded the hot water cylinder whilst James and Rhys first fixed the bathroom, and changed the location of the tank from the utility room to the loft.

Before photos aren’t overly offensive but the clients had various niggles with the bathroom that they didn’t like and were keen to upgrade.

Clients also designed the room themselves, which has all come together really well.

All works by James, Rhys and I.
Decorating works by Highland Taping and Decorating.
Electrical works by AF Electrical.
Suite, wet wall and flooring from Wolseley Inverness.

Will get through all quotes Monday, and catch up with any messages and emails from the last few days.

🚿 🤩

Got this one finished up today, Alness again coincidentally. Rhys and I stripped the room last week, I then tiled the floor and all four walls then James and Rhys were back Wednesday Thursday this week to do the ceiling and second fix. Mind blowing transformation this one, and the room feels so much bigger with the pod removed.

Ware from Wolseley, Inverness. Wall and floor tiles from Topps Tiles, Inverness.
