1. What is your role at My Home Care and what do you love the most about it? 😊 I am a health care assistant working in Harrogate and Knaresborough. The thing I love most about my job is making people’s day and making them smile, as well as ensuring they are cared for to the best of my ability.

2. What inspires you to pursue a career in care? 🌟 When I was younger, my grandfather suffered from Alzheimer’s. I would visit him every day after work and help him while he was in his care home. I also spent a lot of time with my Granny and helped to look after her as she got older. Helping and caring for people is something I enjoy doing, and this is the perfect job for that!

3. What would you advise anyone considering a career in care? 💡 It is a very rewarding job but can also be occasionally demanding. You get pleasure from seeing how grateful clients are after a visit. Always have a smile on your face and treat clients with care, as you may be the only person they see that day.

4. Do you have any hobbies outside of work? 🏃‍♀️🍳 I like to go on walks, swim, run on my treadmill, and socialise with my friends. I also like to cook. I love to spend time with my family, making happy memories for my children.

5. What is your favourite quote/motto? 💬 “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

6. What is your favourite drink? ☕🥂 I love a nice hot cup of tea and a cheeky prosecco from time to time.

1. What is your role at My Homecare and what do you love the most about it?
I am a care assistant at My Homecare. What I love about my job is meeting different clients with different care needs and being able to support them to live as independently as they can in their own homes. Seeing their smiles and hearing their gratitude after assisting them with whatever they require fills me with pride. 😊

2. What inspired you to pursue a career in care?
I have always wanted to work in healthcare, being able to help and support someone when they are unable to do so themselves and make them feel better. My grandma was a nurse, and my mum and auntie were care assistants. Caring runs in the family, I believe. 👩‍⚕️

3. What would you advise anyone considering a career in care?
Caring can be a job with mixed emotions. You have your good days and some sad days. Not every day is the same; some days can be more challenging than others, but it’s a very rewarding job. A caring nature, good heart, sense of humour, and empathy are needed in this job. ❤️

4. Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
I don’t really have any hobbies outside of work. I take care of my children and grandchildren. I like to sing and dance. When I was younger, I loved doing gymnastics, football, netball, basketball, and running. 🎤🏃‍♀️

5. What is your favourite quote/motto?
My favourite quote is: “Live each day as if it’s your last, as tomorrow is never promised.” 🌟

6. What is your favourite drink?
My favourite drink is a cup of tea first thing in the morning, ready to start the day. My favourite tipple is vodka and coke. ☕🍹

I like to have a good laugh and be silly with family and friends, playing games and being able to act like a kid again sometimes. Making memories with those around you and living life to the fullest. 🎉
