Welcome to the first of our Equality Tuesdays at Evolved Music Group.
This week, we're unpacking the findings of UK Music's 2022 Workforce Diversity Survey.
While the gender gap is closing, the findings suggest that many women leave the industry once they become parents or carers, which suggests that the industry does not provide structures to support carers.
The number of respondents who identify as belonging to ethically diverse communities has decreased since the previous survey in 2020. Clearly, more work has to be done in this regard to improve representation in the music industry.
A positive point is that more people felt comfortable disclosing their disability status than before. However, two-thirds of respondents felt they had to compromise their health to keep up with the demanding nature of working in the industry.

Once again the art of the collaboration strikes back, as it was an absolute privilege and an honour for my beloved Evolved Artists Ltd team to work with one of London's finest, artist development companies SAFO Music Group.
Two weeks ago we were fortunate to hold a full weekends songwriting camp at their London recording studios in support of one of our freshest, live, dance act's called and what a creatively productive weekend it was too, with so many highly talented Songwriters and artists involved we cannot wait to hear the results!
