Cognitive distortions are like sneaky tricks our minds play on us, distorting our thoughts and perceptions. Imagine wearing glasses that make everything look a bit off – that's what cognitive distortions do to our thinking. They're patterns of negative thoughts that can make situations seem worse than they really are. By recognising and challenging these distortions, we can gain a clearer, more balanced perspective. It's like fine-tuning the lens through which we see the world.
Come across a few of these! On the lighter side, you are not expected to lie down on a sofa 🤷🏼♀️

If you’re struggling with your mental health due to covid-19 and need support please feel able to get in touch, especially if you are any form of key worker 💙
Wonderful insight into the importance of maintaining structure and routine for people with autism and how it can feel when that isn’t there
Hi everyone, I have decided to be safe and not see clients face to face at the moment but I am still taking on clients! Skype, FaceTime, Zoom and phone calls are but a few ways I will be working and I am also happy to offer smaller ‘sessions’ for free
If anyone needs mental health support during this time, please get in touch. I am happy to signpost to useful services, provide calming tools and even speak over the phone or online if that helps. I know it’s scary right now but it will be okay.
Our time is not infinite. Our energy is not infinite. Spend these precious currencies on people as much as you wish but take a moment to consider who is willing to do the same for you
Things are uncertain at the moment and that can be distressing, but Covid-19 isn’t stopping me from being there for my clients. I offer you stability and predictability in a time where that may be lacking. It may be that we have to get creative and work via phone/video call but I will be there!
Make a start on your personal development ☀️

Newest addition to my counselling room! I love salt lamps, they produce the most relaxing glow
So lucky to have two of the loveliest dogs in my home. They are so intuitive and sweet 😍
Sitting with feelings and giving them the attention they deserve is part of the process of healing and moving forward ✨
With 2020 comes a bit of a change for me! I’ve upgraded to a sofa for even better comfort (and the opportunity to chill out) and for parents and children and couples!
I have also made payment way easier by adding a card machine and as always, hot drinks and bottles of water are available ☕️
Feeling safe and comfortable in counselling/therapy is essential and I hope that’s a feeling I can provide 💕
Learning how to say no and know what isn’t important can be such a relief! Your time and mental energy is precious and should be spent on things that make you a better, happier person 😊💙
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The breakage represents the most vulnerable points in our lives. The repairs are highlighted, rather than disguised, to signify strength and healing and are a metaphor for embracing struggle as a path towards character-building
It does take a lot of bravery to be vulnerable, that vulnerability can lead to amazing change and personal development. If you need support, I’m here to help
