Our Philippines office partnered with Project Compassion in Tarlac to support the reading literacy programme “Likha Pagasa”. Likha Pagasa means “create hope” and the programme enables disadvantaged children in The Philippines to meet their educational needs.
Our team drove over 200 km to visit five public schools to hold educational activities to help raise the reading literacy of children from grade two to grade six.
As we wrap up our annual Community Week activities, where we celebrated all the work we have undertaken to support our communities through volunteering, fundraising, and pro bono in 2022, we look to three communities that recently benefited from our people’s care and career support. 👨👩👦 🌐
Last month, leaders in our Riyadh office introduced a group of children at King Abdulaziz Public Library to the various career roles that are possible in the construction industry and showed them how we use technology and BIM to enhance our performance.
Lead Project Manager Nadim Farah and Senior Cost Manager Dareen Altawal both described how their roles contribute to a project’s success, whether it is leading the project to completion or helping project stakeholders understand the cost implications of their projects.
As part of our support for the programme, a group of high-school students visited our London office to get a glimpse of the working world, where we support young people in exploring different workplaces helping to ensure that they have the skills, confidence, and experience to kick-start successful futures. 💪
Finally, people in our offices around the world showed their creativity and care on Thursday’s Dress Up Day, swapping their usual work attire for something fun while also donating to a local charity. Our Singapore team took the concept one step further, dressing up together as the ‘Minions’.
Our annual Community Week places the spotlight on local communities across the globe that we're supporting in a number of ways throughout the year. 🌐 🗺️
In 2022, we worked with over 180 partners worldwide on schemes tailored to local community needs, with our people giving over 8,000 volunteer hours to make a difference in the lives of their own communities beyond their day-to-day roles within our business.🤝
Our main focus has been on opening up opportunities for children and young people who need our support the most, whether through group activity days or ongoing mentoring. 👨🏫 👩🏫
We're increasingly offering our skills on a pro bono basis to charities and small-to-medium organisations to assist them with their net-zero strategies.♻️
Lydia Parnell, Global Director of Corporate Responsibility said: “The focus and drive to make meaningful change in our local communities has only been heightened since launching our purpose and values in 2021. This is reflected in the continued dedication of our people to provide a green, inclusive, and productive future with our charity partners”.

Earlier this week, officially opened its doors to a newly refurbished home for its staff and students.
The charity supports children and adults with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy. They teach life-changing skills such as sitting, standing, walking, and speaking all in an environment where they can develop friendships, have fun and feel like they belong.
With their former location at full capacity and in need of significant repair and refurbishment, Thorncliffe Hall in Chapeltown is a new and improved space that provides flexible teaching spaces for and facilities for both staff and students.
Funding for the refurbishment works has also been raised with support from the students, including winner, ‘Captain’ Tobias Weller, with his marathon challenges.🎖️
We were appointed to provide and advice from inception to practical completion, ensuring the project was delivered within budget and on time for the new school term.
