HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS FROM REFORMER PILATES?

A 2016 study showed you get quicker results from Reformer Pilates than mat alone so how long before you actually see the results?

The length of time it takes to see results from pilates can vary depending on a variety of factors, including an individual’s fitness level, frequency of practice, and overall health. However, with regular practice and dedication, many individuals can begin to see results within a few weeks.

WEEKS 1-2: INCREASED AWARENESS AND MIND-BODY CONNECTION

IMPORTANT NOTICE RE PARKING 11TH-16TH JULY

To enhance security of the car park after hours, the landlords are replacing the existing gates with automated sliding and swing gates. The works will commence on Thursday 11th July and will run through until Tuesday 16th July whereupon the gates should be fully operational.

On Thursday and possibly Friday 11th & 12th July, the entrance way (Genix end) will not be in use, and temporary directional signage will be in place in addition to temporary signage advising of no public parking, only permit holders. VCS will be providing
additional patrols to assist with this.

Once installed, the gates will open automatically at 7.00am and will close at 6.30pm in line with the car park’s normal operating hours.
There will be a loop system at the exit gate. If anyone is still
parked after closing time, they will be able to drive up to the gate,
which will then automatically open to let them out, and will then
close again once exited.
The car park behind Izgara restaurant and behind Bella Vita are still operational but please bear in mind they may be busier than usual. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

You may have seen the article in The Times this week about the safety of Pilates Reformer classes. Demand has surged and there are classes popping up in gyms now rather than just dedicated Pilates Studios. I've been in the fitness industry for 34 years and teaching Reformer for over 20. There are absolutely Reformer exericises I would only teach 121 and not in a group setting for safety reasons. Of course with any form of exercise there's a risk of injury but I am 100% aware of the potential risks on a Reformer because of decades of my own practice and thousands of hours teaching. I'd also rather have a good Pilates teacher take me round a gym rather than a poorly trained one put me on a Reformer! You can rest assured at my studio you're coming to a group of teachers who are fully aware and trained in using and teaching on the Reformer safely and have many many thousands of hours experience between us. Hope to see you in class soon!

Thanks for dropping by my page. I’ve been working in the Fitness Industry for over 25 years and am a Pilates teacher, teacher trainer, fitness presenter, creator of the Barre Pilates Method and Reformer Fit teacher training. I was lucky enough to have my own programme on Made in Leeds TV called Pilates at Home which ran for two series.

During my first pregnancy in 2000 I was teaching Step, High impact aerobics and Bums, Legs, Tums. I naively thought six weeks would be enough rest after giving birth before returning to exercise. During my first class I launched into jumping jacks and realised my pelvic floor muscles were done! I always say your pelvic floor isn’t something you miss until it’s gone!

I started studying Pilates and for the birth of my second child 2 years later I was back in my jeans 3 weeks after giving birth with no pelvic floor problems. Six month on I fell pregnant again and my body was battered with three pregnancies in four years! It was only Pilates, physically and mentally that got me though that first year, sometimes only getting to practice for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. I totally know how hard it is to find time for yourself as a mum and without Pilates my body would be a total wreck.
