The Euros are here | Chatter Communications And just like that, it’s June and the Euros are here. ...

I am not gonna lie. The idea of an awards ‘do’ on a Tuesday was not massively appealing... �

Not that I don’t love the chance to pop on my best bib and tucker and hob nob with the best and brightest, but London on a Tuesday night?!

But it actually turned into a lovely night �

The ICE awards celebrate the best in the internal comms and engagement space and we were up for a couple of awards.

Our Flutter team came away with Silver for the Best Use of Data and we bagged a Bronze for the network road trip for VMO2. One judge called it ‘a lively and vibrant campaign. It was wonderful to see such energy’.

Now the team are on their way back up North with a couple of very heavy trophies �

Last week we met up with our good friends at WHSmith for The Firm Awards. We were shortlisted for Best Careers Website and although we didn’t pick up any silverware, but we had a great night nonetheless. We also managed to catch up with the Morrisons and Curry’s teams who were both up for a few awards. Think it was a close run thing but the Curry’s team bagged Best Recruitment Campaign and also Best Recruitment Team.

So now having rested and recuperated, our glad rags are dusted down and ready for another trip down to London, this time for the ICE awards where we’re shortlisted for the work we’ve been involved in for VMO2 and the network story as well as the work Alex and the team have been involved in with Flutter UK&I.

This time it’s my turn… But let’s not start with the working world, I want to tell you about some of the other stuff we get involved in here at Chatter and something really close to my heart is supporting sport in its many guises.

Since we started Chatter in 2011, we’ve supported lots of good causes as well as junior sports teams, we know how important sport can be for self-esteem, general wellness and can also give people a real sense of purpose.

More recently, I was lucky enough to be involved in setting up a ladies rounders team in West Yorkshire. We set up Spen Valley Vixens, a team which helps and supports women back into sport (a sport we all used to love playing at school).

We started with 6 founders and now we’re a team of over 30 ladies and 3 teams in the West Yorkshire Rounders League. Chatter have supported SVV for the last couple of years and the contribution has helped us buy equipment and paid for winter training too.

This year we’re also joined by Kirkstall Brewery as sponsors. The season has only just begun, but if you want to keep up with our progress you can follow us on instagram or TikTok
