Sitali Pranayam is a cooling breath that involves inhaling the breath through the curl of the tongue. We breathe as if “drinking” in moisture-rich air, which cools us down – physically and emotionally.

This practice also reduces fatigue, bad breath, fevers, and high blood pressure.

🟠 Posture: Sit in an Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh.

🟠 Breath: Curl the tongue into a "U," and stick it just outside of the lips. Inhale deeply through the rolled tongue, exhale through the nose.

Me: Hello God.
God: Hello...
Me: I'm falling apart. Can you put me back together?
God: I'd rather not.
Me: Why?
God: Because you're not a puzzle.
Me: What about all the pieces of my life that fall to the ground?
God: Leave them there for a while. They fell for a reason. Let them be there for a while and then decide if you need to take any of those pieces back.
Me: You don't understand! I'm breaking!
God: No, you don't understand. You're transcending, evolving.
What you feel are growing pains. You're getting rid of the things and people in your life that are holding you back. The pieces are not falling down. The pieces are being put in place. Relax. Take a deep breath and let those things you no longer need fall down. Stop clinging to pieces that are no longer for you. Let them fall. Let them go.
Me: Once I start doing that, what will I have left?
God: Only the best pieces of yourself.
Me: I'm afraid to change.
God: I keep telling you: YOU'RE NOT CHANGING! YOU'RE BECOMING!
Me: Becoming, Who?
God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light, love, charity, hope, courage, joy, mercy, grace and compassion. I made you for so much more than those shallow pieces you decided to adorn yourself with and that you cling to with so much greed and fear. Let those things fall off you. I love you! Don't change! Become! Don't change! Become! Become who I want you to be, who I created. I'm gonna keep telling you this until you remember.
Me: There goes another piece.
God: Yes. Let it be like this.
Me: So... I'm not broken?
God: No, but you're breaking the darkness, like dawn. It's a new day. Become!! Become who you really are!!

Self love, self care & self preservation ❤️

I’m slowly learning that I don’t have to react to everything that bothers me.
I’m slowly learning that the energy it takes to react to every bad thing that happens to you drains you and stops you from seeing the other good things in life.
I’m slowly learning that I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and I won’t be able to get everyone to treat me the way I want to be treated and that’s okay.
I’m slowly learning that trying so hard to ‘win’ anyone is just a waste of time and energy and it fills you with nothing but emptiness.
I’m slowly learning that not reacting doesn’t mean I’m okay with things, it just means I’m choosing to rise above it.
I’m choosing to take the lesson it has served and learn from it.
I’m choosing to be the bigger person. I’m choosing my peace of mind because that’s what I truly need.
I don’t need more drama. I don’t need people making me feel like I’m not good enough.
I don’t need fights and arguments and fake connections.
I’m slowly learning that sometimes not saying anything at all says everything.
I’m slowly learning that reacting to things that upset you gives someone else power over your emotions.
You can’t control what others do but you can control how you respond, how you handle it, how you perceive it and how much of it you want to take personally.
I’m slowly learning that most of the time, these situations say nothing about you and a lot about the other person.
I’m slowly learning that maybe all these disappointments are just there to teach us how to love ourselves because that will be the armor and the shield we need against the people who try to bring us down. They will save us when people try to shake our confidence or when they try to make us feel like we’re worthless.
I’m slowly learning that even if I react, it won’t change anything, it won’t make people suddenly love and respect me, it won’t magically change their minds.
Sometimes it’s better to just let things be, let people go, don’t fight for closure, don’t ask for explanations, don’t chase answers and don’t expect people to understand where you’re coming from. I’m slowly learning that life is better lived when you don’t center it on what’s happening around you and center it on what’s happening inside you instead.
Work on yourself and your inner peace and you’ll come to realize that not reacting to every little thing that bothers you is the first ingredient to living a happy and healthy life.

Hands are more than just functional; they are an energy map of our consciousness and health. Each area of the hand corresponds to a certain area of the body and to different emotions and behaviors. By curling, crossing, stretching, and touching the fingers and palms, we can effectively talk to the body and mind. The position the hand takes is called a mudra and is a technique for giving clear messages to the mind-body energy system.

Just as letters are combined in a multitude of ways to form different words, so can the fingers build an array of mudras. Given below are a few of the most common mudras experienced in as taught by .

Something to try this week 👏🏼❤️

Sat Nam Dear Ones,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mudra of the Moment 👌🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
JUPITER IN VENUS MUDRA MEDITATION ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also known as Ksepana Mudra, this week's mudra and meditation activates our productive elimination. Specifically, this meditation assists in releasing the unusable energy/information we often and unwittingly acquire from the environments around us...like the debris of a toxic conversation; the reading an angry article-or-post; the confusion of chaotic times; the aftermath of being verbally attacked, or watching an emotionally entangled TV show, video, or film. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Paired with this weeks mantra, creates the cleansing and clearing -- this enables a real-true in-flux of productive, enthusiastic, hopeful and inspired feelings, thoughts, sensations and attitudes. “A new attitude!”...like the great song says. Imagine what you can accomplish with such an attitude and the energy of serving yourself and everyone else. Practicing Ksepana mudra in this meditation also balances the tension, pressure, stress and friction by restoring your centeredness. A balanced system always refreshes and energizes your life⚡️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Try it on with this week's mantra [Ung Sung Wahe Guru] and vibrate through every cell of your body to connect with the love that’s within you and all around you💗⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Placement of the mudra: about 6” in front of the heart center with arms at ease. Intuitively find the exact placement that feels right.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Enjoy this with Many Blessings...🙏🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Listen to yourself 😇👏🏼

LET YOURSELF REST

If you’re exhausted, rest.
If you don’t feel like starting a new project, don’t.
If you don’t feel the urge to make something new,
just rest in the beauty of the old, the familiar, the known.
If you don’t feel like talking, stay silent.
If you’re fed up with the news, turn it off.
If you want to postpone something until tomorrow, do it.

If you want to do nothing, let yourself do nothing today.
Feel the fullness of the emptiness, the vastness of the silence, the sheer life in your unproductive moments.

Time does not always need to be filled.

You are enough, simply in your being.

“When pregnant, the cells of the baby migrate into the mothers bloodstream and then circle back into the baby, it’s called “fetal-maternal microchimerism”.

For 41 weeks, the cells circulate and merge backwards and forwards, and after the baby is born, many of these cells stay in the mother’s body, leaving a permanent imprint in the mothers tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and often stay there for decades. Every single child a mother has afterwards will leave a similar imprint on her body, too.

Even if a pregnancy doesn't go to full term or if you have an abortion, these cells still migrate into your bloodstream.

Research has shown that if a mother's heart is injured, fetal cells will rush to the site of the injury and change into different types of cells that specialize in mending the heart.

The baby helps repair the mother, while the mother builds the baby.

How cool is that?

This is often why certain illnesses vanish while pregnant.

It’s incredible how mothers bodies protect the baby at all costs, and the baby protects & rebuilds the mother back - so that the baby can develop safely and survive.

Think about crazy cravings for a moment. What was the mother deficient in that the baby made them crave?

Studies have also shown cells from a fetus in a mothers brain 18 years after she gave birth. How amazing is that?”

If you’re a mom you know how you can intuitively feel your child even when they are not there….Well, now there is scientific proof that moms carry them for years and years even after they have given birth to them.

I find this to be so very beautiful.

Practice this, listen to your inner critic and choose to not accept what it is saying 🤗

💫We all have a room mate.
We have given full freedom to this room mate to say whatever. Not only that - we listen to it and get influenced by it too.

Imagine someone else saying to you:-
' You are so ugly'; ' You are so fat'; 'You are not enough' etc etc.... how long will you allow yourself to hear all this before you stop them?

But the point to reflect is - you have allowed this room mate to say anything to you at anytime in any situation again and again....
And it's going in cycles.

Check it out today - what is your room mate saying to you in the form of your own thoughts?

During our journey, we get to have a proper conversation with this room mate. You know it if you know it😄

Rebozos Archives - Shuniya Kundalini Yoga 19/09/2021

What is a rebozo? Following is a blog from my teacher “ Japjeet Kaur”. 🙏🏽❤️

Rebozos (or their counterparts in other South American countries) have been part of pre- and postnatal South-American culture since pre-Hispanic times.

These woven shawls are regarded as deeply sacred. They are referred to as “an extension of loving hands“, and the weaving of it can take up to a month. For me, the humble Rebozo or Manta symbolizes both the fabric and the tight weave of Sisterhood: it provides support, comfort, softness, the feeling of being held, it can put us back together or keep us together during times where we feel ourselves unravelling or need to physically feel that support of others around us, and it offers a chrysalis-like space for the many transformations we as women go through. While being rocked and wrapped in a Rebozo helps a woman to find her own self and center again and seals up any energy leakages, being in a circle of women can do the same thing for us. Like a Red Tent used to provide a protected space for menstruating women, a Rebozo holds you during your times of bleeding (menstruating, postpartum, miscarriage, …). I also often describe a Rebozo as “the fascia (connective tissue) outside of the body“, as in many ways it takes over the function of our fascia, allows a deep release of tension from the connective tissue when worked with, and allows for a deep energetic feeling and connection to develop between the one offering the rocking and massaging with the rebozo, and the one receiving it, to the point that it almost becomes like a ‘dance’ between the two.

I offer beautifully woven rebozos that are 100% non-stretch cotton, hand-made on Mexican pedal looms, with gorgeous colours and different patterns. I stock and offer different sizes (both different lengths and different widths), as well as different types of woven structures (referred to as “close weave” or “tupido” and “open weave” or “deshilado”). They are sourced from different villages and weavers communities from around Mexico – you can read about them in the descriptions.

A rebozo typically consist of two parts: the main part, which is the woven part made in the loom, and then secondly the fringe. The woven part is made by men, the fringe by women. The process to create a finished piece can take a couple of days up to an entire month. It starts with the thread being dyed, the cloth being woven and then finally the fringe is knotted by hand. The fringe is often unique to the weavers’ family or village and can act like a signature.

Through your orders at a fairtrade price setting instead of a high street pricing, you help to provide work for entire villages to preserve this sacred ancient weaving trade.

If you are looking for a Rebozo for baby wearing, please get a close weave that is min. 2.5m long. I can provide sling rings too, plus guides for using rebozos for baby wearing.

Updated detailed washing instructions are available on Japjeet’s Rebozo webshop for easy reference.

Rebozos Archives - Shuniya Kundalini Yoga The Rebozo part of the webshop is NOT great to navigate on your phone as it jumbles the colour names and makes it hard to see what is available. We are not finding any good way around that. So better check on your laptop or desktop… This webshop helps you to source your Rebozos (the Mexican name) ...

Beautifully illustrated, dedicated to all the mums 🥰❤️

🔸Invisible Mother 🔸

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the way
one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and ask to be
taken to the store. Inside I'm thinking, 'Can't you see I'm on the phone?'

Obviously not; no one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or sweeping
the floor, or even standing on my head in the corner, because no one can see
me at all. I'm invisible. The invisible Mom. Some days I am only a pair of
hands, nothing more! Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this??

Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being. I'm a clock
to ask, 'What time is it?' I'm a satellite guide to answer, 'What number is
the Disney Channel?' I'm a car to order, 'Right around 5:30, please.'

Some days I'm a crystal ball; 'Where's my other sock?, Where's my phone?,
What's for dinner?'

I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes
that studied history, music and literature -but now, they had disappeared
into the peanut butter, never to be seen again. She's going, she's
going, she's gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating the return of a
friend from England . She had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and she
was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in. I was sitting there,
looking around at the others all put together so well. It was hard not to
compare and feel sorry for myself. I was feeling pretty pathetic, when she
turned to me with a beautifully wrapped package, and said, 'I brought you
this.' It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe . I wasn't exactly
sure why she'd given it to me until I read her inscription: 'With admiration
for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees.'

In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And I would discover
what would become for me, four life-changing truths, after which I could
pattern my work:

1) No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no record
of their names.

2) These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would never
see finished.

3) They made great sacrifices and expected no credit.

4) The passion of their building was fuelled by their faith that the
eyes of God saw everything.

A story of legend in the book told of a rich man who came to visit the
cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman carving a tiny bird
on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and asked the man,
'Why are you spending so much time carving that bird into a beam that
will be covered by
the roof. No one will ever see it'

And the workman replied, 'Because God sees.'

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into place. It was almost
as if I heard God whispering to me, 'I see you. I see the sacrifices you
make every day, even when no one around you does.

No act of kindness you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've
baked, no Cub Scout meeting, no last minute errand is too small for me to
notice and smile over. You are building a great cathedral, but you can't see
right now what it will become.

I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder. As one of
the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work
on something that their name will never be on. The writer of the book went
so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime
because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree.

When I really think about it, I don't want my son to tell the friend he's
bringing home from college for Thanksgiving, 'My Mom gets up at 4 in the
morning and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for 3
hours and presses all the linens for the table.' That would mean I'd built a
monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home. And then, if there
is anything more to say to his friend, he'd say, 'You're gonna love it
there...'

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're
doing it right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel,
not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the
world by the sacrifices of invisible mothers.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆, 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘺 5, 1975.

This meditation uses the power of the breath to enhance the depth of the effects of the mantra Healthy am I, Happy am I, Holy am I. It also enhances the ability to carry out your intentions.

When practiced correctly, the breath will slow to two and a half breaths per minute. This shift from the normal 12-15 breaths per minute is significant. Once the breath rate is slower than four breaths per minute, the central brain starts functioning more intensely. The pineal and pituitary glands shift their relationship to each other.

In this state the effects of outer and inner sound are greater. The mantra will become more penetrating. A larger portion of yourself will be able to synchronize and carry out your intentions.

→ Posture: Sit in any easy posture that keeps the spine straight.

→ Mental focus: Bring the mental focus to the Brow Point.

→ Breath and Mantra: Inhale deeply and completely through the nose. Hold the breath by suspending the movement of the chest. Silently repeat the mantra 3 times: Healthy Am I, Happy Am I, Holy Am I. As you exhale, repeat the mantra out loud three times. Each repetition of the phrase takes about five seconds.

→ Time: Continue for 11 minutes.

→ To End: Then inhale deeply, relax the breath, and sit silently for a minute or two. Then inhale deep, stretch the arms up over your head with the fingers interlocked, and pull the spine up. Exhale and relax.

If you are teaching this meditation it is best to guide the students by chanting the mantra out loud as they suspend the breath.

𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀

Many meditations and kriyas in specify an exact point of focus for the eyes. Directing the gaze physically impacts the optic nerve as it travels from the eyes to the center of the brain. During meditation and other activities, different eye positions cause the optic nerve to apply variable pressures to major glands and gray matter. More than just reducing external distractions, the eye-focus is a powerful meditation technique.

When no specific eye-focus is given for a meditation or kriya, the eyes should be kept closed. Keeping the eyes closed during Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations encourages an inner focus.

In addition to physical effects, focusing the eyes acts as a mental focus, allowing the mind to more readily reach a point of aware stillness during meditation.

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀

→ At the Third Eye Point: Closed eyes are gently raised to the Brow Point, at the center of the forehead a little above the eyebrows. This part of the forehead corresponds to the Sixth Chakra.

Stimulates the pituitary gland and sushmuna (central nerve channel of the spine).

→ At the Tip of the Nose: Eyes are slightly crossed, looking along the nose to the top of its tip.

Balances the ida, pingala, and sushmuna (left, right and central nerve channels of the spine).

Stimulates the pineal gland and frontal lobe of the brain; controls the mind.

→ At the Tip of the Chin: Closed eyes are rolled downwards to the center of the chin. This location corresponds to the Moon Center.

Cooling and calming.

→ At the Top of the Head: Closed eyes roll upwards, as if looking through the very top, center of the head. This area is the Crown Chakra, the Tenth Gate.

Stimulates the pineal gland and the Crown Chakra.

→ 1/10th Open (9/10th Closed): Eyelids are light and relaxed, leaving a small opening between them. Direction of eye focus may vary as indicated by the instructions.

Calms and develops intuition.
