🌟 Staff Spotlight - Langdale Ladder! 🌟

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our staff through Langdale Ladder, where we recognise those who have been promoted to new positions and roles during their time at Langdale Care Homes. This initiative celebrates the dedication and growth of our team, shaping a brighter future for Langdale.

Today, we introduce Tigi John, Clinical Lead at Langdale Heights. We asked Tigi a few questions:

Tell us a little bit about how you climbed the Langdale Ladder.

I joined Langdale Care Homes in July 2021 as a Senior Health Care Assistant. In August 2023, I was promoted to Head of Care at Langdale Heights, and in May 2024, I proudly took on the role of Clinical Lead at Langdale Heights, up to date.

What makes you passionate about working at Langdale Care Homes?

I have received support from management and directors, who have mentored me and provided growth opportunities, for which I am genuinely grateful. I also love caring for our residents and contributing to the team’s success. The trust and belief in my abilities have shaped my career.

Tell us something unique about yourself that makes you such a star.

My communication skills, teamwork and enthusiasm have driven my success.

Tell us a lovely story about your work in Care.

One memorable experience was connecting with a resident at Langdale Heights, which taught me the importance of empathy, active listening, and building trust. These moments have deepened my connection with the residents and shaped my approach to care.

Thank you, Tigi, for your dedication. We are proud to have you on our team, and your hard work continues to inspire us all.

Our residents at Langdale House had an unforgettable afternoon with Alfie, the therapy horse, and his little friend Tiny Tim! 🐎 Families, our residents and staff gathered to share in this special moment, where they could interact and pose for heartwarming photos. The smiles were everywhere, and beautiful memories were created throughout the session.

Pet therapy brings joy and promotes a sense of calmness, improves mood, and encourages positive behaviour. For some of our residents, who once lived on farmland or owned horses, this experience was significant and person-centred, truly meeting their needs.

A big thank you to Doreen’s family for the wonderful gesture of bringing Alfie and Tiny Tim to Langdale House. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the session, and their smiles said it all! 💖

🌟 Word of the Day - OBSERVANT 🌟

Observant is the quality of being attentive, perceptive, and quick to notice details or changes in one's surroundings.
Embracing an observant approach is crucial in providing exceptional care at Langdale Care Homes. We recognise the importance of being attentive to the needs, preferences, and well-being of our residents. By fostering a culture of observance, we ensure that our staff are quick to notice any changes in our residents' health, behaviour, or emotional state, enabling us to respond promptly and effectively to their needs. Being observant also allows us to anticipate potential issues and take proactive measures to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents.

Within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Assessment Framework, being observant aligns with the "Safe" and "Caring" domains. By promoting an observant approach, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our residents. It signifies our commitment to being attentive to their individual needs, preferences, and any changes in their condition. This level of care and attention fosters a sense of security and trust among our residents and their families, contributing to the overall quality of our care provision.

Our team recognises that being observant is essential in creating a personalised and responsive care environment. Residents benefit from the attentiveness of our staff, who are quick to notice and address any concerns or changes in their well-being. Staff members who are observant can identify opportunities to enhance the care experience, tailor activities to individual preferences, and ensure that each resident feels valued and supported.

Remember, "In being observant, we find the power to create a safe, caring, and responsive environment that prioritises the well-being of our residents."
