HFH Healthcare
Specialist nurse-led complex care for adults and children delivered in their own homes.
#ComplexCare
Well done team! 🌟
We recently received feedback highlighting some great work in supporting our client.
At HFH Healthcare our care coordinators work closely with our clients, carers and nurse case managers to ensure that our care packages are organised and effective, improving the individual’s quality of life and independence, allowing them to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
Due to the nature of many of our client's complex health conditions, they require moving and handling to enable them to get them about, out of bed and to access the community.
Complex moving and handling involves techniques and equipment used to safely assist individuals with limited mobility, ensuring their comfort and safety while reducing the risk of injury to both client and carer.
This often includes managing medical devices such as ventilator tubing, catheters, and feeding tubes. All of our specialist carers are appropriately trained by their Nurse Case Manager in complex moving and handling. Their work is continually assesed and overseen, to ensure they can support their clients in the best way possible.
We felt this photo of NHS professionals who attended our latest continuing healthcare event hoisting our Commercial Director Matt Knight demonstrates this skill perfectly. and is too good not to share!

Congratulations to our latest Carer of the Month ⭐
Kamanda has been recognised for regularly delivering exemplary care.
A recent example of his commitment was when on short notice he agreed to step in and support an individual with whom he is familiar with their health needs routine.
Our client suffered a hypoxic brain Injury over 10 years ago and now relies entirely on caregivers for their care. Kamanda went home, packed his belongings, and went straight to the client's home for 3 weeks where he followed the extensive care plan meticulously.
The healthcare skills required included medication administration, behaviour management, feeding support and personal care.
Our client loves watching cricket and ball sports and taking part in quizzes. Kamanda's excellent work has been crucial to ensuring our client receives the vital mental stimulation they need daily and allowing them to enjoy all their favourite activities.
Our client's wife was very grateful for his exceptional work, expressing “He has been so great with my husband, I am impressed with how quickly he has adapted to all the new additions to his schedule”.
Well done Kamanda for representing HFH Healthcare in such a positive manner.
We are excited to announce our care team of the quarter. Well done to Justyna, Mariana, Agniezka and Nicoleta for their excellent work with client Jared!
Jared's team are always ready to support their client and other carers, and when a co-worker goes on holiday, they have happily covered shifts to support their colleagues. They have developed a strong connection with him, learned his routine and requirements well, and have shown exceptional caring ability at times.
Jared’s complex health requirements include tracheostomy with cough assist, medication administration, oral suctioning, cough assist and PEG feed.
He is non-verbal with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and dystonic movements, and requires assistance with his activities of daily living, such as showering, dressing and eating.
Jared loves music therapy, daytime TV (especially Wipeout)! family time and visiting Garden centres. Despite being non-verbal, he can indicate yes and no with arm movements and has an infectious smile.
Jared’s mum expressed that “It means a lot that I can trust my son with the care team.”
“I wish there was more I could do to thank everyone in the team for how they care about Jared and myself”.
Our care coordinators recently visited to present and award the care team with their certificates and gift bags for their excellent work.
Well done!

Did you know around 625,800 people (or 1 in 107) in the UK have epilepsy? (Epilepsy Action UK)
It’s National Epilepsy Week, and it’s vital to shine a spotlight on epilepsy awareness and support for those affected by this condition.
Epilepsy isn't just about seizures; it's about the lives impacted and the resilience shown every day. That's why this week is crucial for spreading understanding and compassion.

Did you know that 1.3 million people in the UK are living with the effects of a long-term brain injury?
Given the extreme challenges faced by those with brain injuries, it's important to raise awareness of how they affect people’s everyday lives.
These injuries can occur from a range of causes, such as traumatic incidents, falls, strokes, infections, tumours, or anoxia, among others, and vary in severity.
We're proud to support those with brain injuries in our care and empower them to regain their independence and live the life they choose following such an injury.
While some impairments may be permanent, it's still possible to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life with the right assistance and support.
Let's come together this Action for Brain Injury Week to educate, support, and uplift those impacted by brain injuries. Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive and empathetic world.
We recently released a case study of a client (Ahmed) who after sustaining a traumatic brain injury, came into our care. Learn more: https://buff.ly/4dvTQBz

What is ‘bed blocking’ and what is the solution?
Bed blocking is the usage of a hospital bed by a patient medically optimised for discharge who is unable to leave due to a lack of suitable further care options.
The issue is back in the UK news again, with reports that up to a third of hospital beds were affected in the worst impacted areas of the country.
In February, 13,622 patients were stuck in wards across England, the equivalent of one in seven hospital beds.
Croydon in South London was the worst affected, with a third of hospital beds impacted. Regionally, the Southwest experienced the most delays, with 17% of beds taken by patients fit to leave, closely followed by the Southeast at 16.5%.
HFH (Home from Hospital) Healthcare’s mission is to work collaboratively with clients and service commissioners to create a quality-focused, safe and respectful environment where they can thrive.
By delivering on our vision to be an outstanding provider of expert and clinical person-centred care for Children & Adults at home, we help reduce the problem of bed blocking in UK hospitals and support our clients with complex care requirements to live safely at home.
Our service operates around London and the Southeast, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
