What is Tandem Feeding?
Tandem breastfeeding (TBF) is feeding two children of different ages at the same time. There are certain challenges that need to be overcome when tandem nursing especially when nursing your older child during pregnancy and after the arrival of your new born.
While the decision is completely personal, you can find more help by joining breastfeeding support groups and support tribes that can help you establish a smooth transition. You can also find more information on: https://www.laleche.org.uk/tandem-nursing/
There are various ways in which you can combine breastfeeding with going back to work:
If there is a workplace nursery or other childcare very close to your workplace, you may be able to visit your baby during the working day and breastfeed normally.
If you cannot visit your baby during the working day, you can express breastmilk.
You may decide to partially breastfeed, which means that you breastfeed your baby when you are at home but the baby is given formula milk while you are at work
We mostly talk about benefits of breastfeeding for babies but what about Mums? This post is dedicated to breastfeeding mothers... something to keep them motivated to continue their breastfeeding journey for a minimum of 6 months. Breastfeeding is rewarding for both mums and their little ones! Happy Breastfeeding!!
There is a lot of disparity women face when they return to the workplace after giving birth. They face lack of support, weird glances from peers, a hostile work environment and the list can go on...
This needs to stop and women need to come together to imbibe a culture of empathy and support for women joining back work. These women have gone through a lot and their bodies will never be the same again. For most women it's already hard to leave their little ones behind and join back work. They need to be held together more at this point. They need to be supported and cherished as to how they can continue to work while looking after themselves and their little one(s). The world needs to change. The attitude towards new mothers needs to change...
The theme for world breastfeeding week 2023 is 'Let's make breastfeeding and work, work!' This year's campaign focuses on promoting practices that can help support workplace related breastfeeding in different countries.
While breastfeeding is ideal for your little ones, there are certain situations where breastfeeding might be discouraged. While this post is not to discourage you from breastfeeding, it is just to inform you of conditions/situations where breastfeeding might not be ideal. You can consider other complimentary feeding options, such as formula feeding, accessing milk banks where other lactating mothers donate breastmilk or casual sharing of breastmilk; when friends/family nurse your infant.

Have you felt it? 😂
Pregnancy rages many hormones and I totally related with this one during my Pregnancy. I was working and often felt exhausted by the end of the day. I was hungry and angry a lot of times but thanks to my Mamas (loads of family support who fed me well) the feelings quickly disappeared and saved my husband...😜
So Mummas in the making, keep your health a priority and look after yourself! Plan ahead, take rest and feel good! Gather as much support as you can! Nothing matters more and yes don't forget to feed yourself often, before you get... Prangry!! 😈🤯😡

Did you know that the placenta plays a crucial role during pregnancy? 🤔
It's like a superhero sidekick, supporting the growth and development of the baby in the womb. 🦸♀️💪
The placenta is a remarkable organ that forms inside the uterus and connects to the baby through the umbilical cord. 🌟 Its main function is to provide oxygen and nutrients to the developing fetus, acting as a lifeline for their growth. 🌱🍼But that's not all! The placenta also acts as a barrier, protecting the baby from harmful substances and filtering out waste products. 🛡️🚫 It's like a personal bodyguard, ensuring the little one's well-being throughout pregnancy. Because of it's root/tree like appearance of the vessels, it is often called the "Tree of Life"It's truly a dynamic and awe-inspiring organ! 🌈✨🩷🩷🩷

Some fun pregnany facts!🤰
Sometimes the impromptu plans are the ones best celebrated... Happy Mother's Day! 😇💞
The connect between a 'Mother and Child' begins way before birth. Cradling the Womb is a maternal instinct brought together by love, affection and protection!! 🤰🤱💞
This is a great innovation as the current pumps do not completely extract mother's milk, giving new mothers tension that they are not making enough milk.
Very important information!!
