You can't have a 4D scan in late pregnancy (after 32-34 weeks) because the baby has less room to move, often settles into a head-down position, and amniotic fluid levels decrease, all of which make it hard to get clear images. At this stage, scans are usually done for medical reasons rather than capturing detailed images of the baby for bonding purposes. The best time for a 4D scan is typically between 26-30 weeks.
