Great Britain - QEII Small profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The portraits showing HM Queen Elizabeth looking left wearing a tiara are printers preliminary artwork to show how the head would appear on an essay. After a study by renowned photographer Anthony Buckley the head was used inter alia on: British Virgin Islands 1979 Wildlife Conservation and 1982 Hummingbirds, Cayman Islands 1984 Birds, Gibraltar 1978 25th Anniversary of Coronation and 1982 Aircraft definitives, Gilbert Islands 1978 Christmas, St. Helena 1968 30th anniversary of Tristan da Cunha, Seychelles 1967 International Tourist year, Solomon Islands 1982 Eagles and 1984 Fungi, and Tristan da Cunha 1983 Raphael paintings. £325

G.B. - Railways 1895 1/2d Postal stationery postcard written from Magdalen to Lynn, bearing a Great Eastern Railway 2d letter stamp cancelled by violet "MAGDALEN/ROAD" and a manuscript cross, the card and stamp both tied by Kings Lynn squared circle. The card was received at Lynn at 3.15p.m. and informs the addressee that evenings meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. will now be on the following day. A very unusual use of a 1/2d card sent as a railway letter, written up on an album page with a postcard of the G.E.R. Continental Express. £450

A fine railway letter, well written up on an album page with a 1906 postcard posted from Prestonpans to Canada showing a train and railway staff, endorsed by the sender "special train". £475
